On July 9, 2016, the Duwamish Rowin Club held its first-ever regatta on the Duwamish River

Operating out of two shipping containers along the banks of the industrial Duwamish River in Seattle's South Park neighborhood, Michael Merta founded the Duwamish Rowing Club in 2011 to share his love of rowing with residents young and old. On July 9, 2016, the club held its first-ever regatta on the Duwamish River, showcasing the spirit and life of an often-forgotten stretch of river.
