ABOUT HALFWAY UP IN THE EASTERN SKY YOU CAN FIND THE PLEIADES AKA THE SEVEN SISTERS.
THE PLEIADES MAY LOOK LIKE A SMALL, FAINT CLOUD AT FIRST, BUT IF YOU GAZE A WHILE YOU MIGHT PICK OUT THE BRIGHTEST 7 STARS IN THE CLUSTER THEY SORTA LOOK LIKE A TINY BIG DIPPER!
TO FIND THE HYADES, LOOK FOR A SIDEWAYS, V-SHAPE OF FIVE STARS BELOW THE PLEIADES.
THIS IS THE FACE OF THE CONSTELLATION TAURUS THE BULL WITH THE BRIGHT ORANGE STAR ALDEBARAN MARKING THE EYE OF THE BULL.
THE STARS IN AND AROUND THE V-SHAPE ALSO MAKE UP HYADES.
YOU CAN FIND BOTH OF THESE CLUSTERS WITH THE NAKED EYE, AND SEE SWARMS OF STARS WITH A PAIR OF BINOCULARS.
OPEN STAR CLUSTERS ARE WHERE YOUNG STARS HANG OUT, BUT NOT WITH EACH OTHER THEY'’’RE HUNDREDS OF LIGHT YEARS APART!
