SO KICK BACK WITH ME AND RELAX UNDER THE STARS!
HIT THE DARKNESS AND LOOK EAST AT 11PM.
THERE YOU'LL FIND A TRIANGLE OF THREE CELESTIAL DAZZLERS - THE STARS OF THE SUMMER TRIANGLE!
AT THE TOP IS VEGA; THE BRIGHTEST AND BLUEST OF THE THREE STARS.
IT MARKS THE RIGHT ARM OF THE CONSTELLATION LYRA THE HARP!
DOWN AND TO THE RIGHT IS ALTAIR.
THE SECOND BRIGHTEST IN THE TRIANGLE.
IT’S STARK WHITE AND PART OF AQUILA THE EAGLE.
THEN DENEB IS OVER TO THE LEFT MARKING THE TAIL OF CYGNUS THE SWAN.
CYGNUS, ALSO CONTAINS THE NORTHERN CROSS ASTERISM, SO IF IT’S VERY DARK LOOK FOR THAT TOO!
IN THE WINTER, WE’RE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SUN FROM THESE CONSTELLATIONS SO AQUILA AND LYRA ARE HARDER TO SEE.
WELL HAVE THREE MONTHS OF SUMMER PLENTY OF TIME TO WATCH FOR THE SUMMER TRIANGLE EVERY NIGHT.
KEEP LOOKIN’ UP!
