the word so the next word is hmm let's eat the word me and what was the word hey now we're gonna play a spelling game I'm gonna take this away I want to see how well you can spell the words that you just learned about give me a thumbs up if you think you're ready your first word is the word why spell the word wise spell it in the pink area why very good shot everybody look at Charlotte she has a WH why everybody else to do it you're done you're done your next word is some some some and eat okay your next word is animal and the mole you guys are doing an excellent job remembering your cupcake words okay we're going to read a story the story that we're going to read it's called animal talk the main idea is what the story is mostly about you're going to use your book phony you're going to read it whispering and more talk by Jack Wilkins and then when you see the microphone come close to you you're going to eat louder animal talk by Jack Wilkins are we ready [Music] and when you're done just close the book in front of you one wants to tell me what they think the story was mostly about she said the story is mostly about animals and how they wet communicate if the main idea is what the story is mostly about what is the detail a small piece of the story so hope it's me what is one small piece of the story the dump can quack very good today we're going to learn about subtractive when you subtract you take away the answer is the difference can you fit up with me when you subtract you take away the answer is different now I want you to turn to a friend cuz you're gonna teach your friend about subtraction class five five five teach okay go ahead when you subtract you take away the answer is we're going to pick up our learning letters hey you can I ask you what is this learning lighter means Dartmouth penny basically the learning letter it just tells me where they are in subtraction and what I need to teach them so if they were a number one that means they need a lot of help if there are number two that means they're familiar with the term subtraction but they still need some assistance if there are number three on the learning letter that means they can teach their friends about subtraction and lastly if there are number of four they're an expert I can sit down and they can teach myself and the whole school so are you ready to tell me where you are on your learning ladder I want you to just take your clip and put it up to the number and show me what number you are I see some tubes oh I see a one I love seeing ones and twos you know why because that means that I can teach you about subtraction the word problem says there for our big the rest are small how many there are small so let's go ahead and act it out when I point to you I want you to go ahead and get on your knees because you're gonna be one of the big bears can you get on your knees for me big bear big bear okay so it said there are six bears for our big so if for our big and the rest are small who can tell me just by looking at the people who are sitting down how many bears are small selecia two bears are small you just did your own subtraction citizens not what I want you to do Thank You bear I want you to pick up your board and I want you to write the subtraction sentence how many bears are we begin with six don't forget that - fine how many bears were big how many bears got on their knees yet for four go ahead and write your four how many bears were sitting down at the end - and when you're ready let's go ahead and read our subtraction sentence six minus four equals two excellent job yourself a firecracker claps one more time this may you thank you so much for showing us today what a first grade teacher does we had a great time in your class thank you for coming miss penny we really enjoyed you as well it's amazing you [Music]
