This mountain green paint is going to make it look like it's covered with trees.
It's so cool, almost as cool as my new yo-yo trick!

But maybe you should show me outside.
It's okay.
I'm getting pretty good at it.
It's called "Around the world".

Mountain green is definitely not my color.

We have to look for a sign pointing to her workshop.

But the arrow points in two different directions.
Which one goes to Sarah's workshop?
I'm pretty sure it's-- oh, dear-- that way.
Cat, both paths can't lead to the same place.
There has to be a right way and a wrong way.
I guess we have to try one.
But which one?
It's a toss-up.
A-ha, that's the perfect solution, Fish.
When choosing your path to explore Serendip, a coin's just the thing for a person to flip.
If it lands on heads, Nick decides.
Tails: Sally decides.
Ha-ha, tails.
Sally, you decide.

(Gasping) What is that?
Only my friend Sarah could come up with an invention like this.
"An invention"?
It just looks like something to hold pots of paint.
Maybe we'll find some paint for your mountain.
I don't see anything that looks like mountain green.
Are you sure?
Did you look at all of them?
Oops.
What did you do?
It was an accident.

There you are, the greatest inventor in Serendip.
Cat, you always say that.
Only because it's true.
Nick, Sally, may I present Sarah?
Hi, Sarah.
So, tell me about this accident.
Uhh, I spilled some of your paint by mistake, with my yo-yo.
"Yo-yo"?
I never would have thought of that.
Let's see what you've done.
I think I'll call it "Paint falls", a waterfall made of paint.
This is exactly what I was hoping for, thanks to you.
You wanted them to spill?

Wow, the colors are mixing.
If you mix red and yellow, you get orange!
I think this is one of your best inventions yet, Sarah.
The yellow paint is mixing with the blue and making-- Mountain green!
It's the exact color I need for my mountain!

She's the one who made the yellow mix with the blue paint.
But it was just an accident.

Sometimes, when accidents happen, they accidentally make you think of something you've never thought of before.
Like mixing blue and yellow to get mountain green!

I don't exactly know yet.

Sometimes, you need to experiment until you find out what you got.
That's the fun part.
When fun-filled experiments need to be done, it's time to get help from Thing 2 and Thing 1.

Those things are kind of accident prone.

You see, you never know what you'll find-- If you keep an open mind.

But I don't see anything here that can fix the big hole in my mountain.

I've mixed baking powder, liquid dish soap and a little water.
But I'm not sure what to add next.
I guess we need another accident.
Maybe Sally should do her yo-yo trick.
I'd love to see that.
I don't think that's a good idea.
Oh, Fish, there are no bad ideas in this workshop.
Okay, if you're sure... (Gasping) What a catch.
I've been looking all over for this bottle of vinegar.
I wonder what would happen if we added it to this pot.

Thanks to Sarah's paint falls, I found out I could make green by mixing blue and yellow.
But then I thought "Why have a green mountain when I could have a rainbow mountain?"
Ooh.
Ah.
But it still has a hole in the top.
Right.
Why make a mountain when I could make a volcano?
Bravo, Nick!
How inventive!
Is it really going to erupt like a real volcano?
I hope so.
I mixed the baking soda, water and soap just like Sarah did.
And I added orangey-red paint to make it look like lava.
Now if you just add the vinegar, we should get a volcanic eruption.
Okay, stand back, everybody.
This is so exciting!
(Bubbling) It worked!

The Soundy Sea.
It's making waves.
But it only makes waves when we make sounds.
Look.
It's so very true.
Wow, fish soundwaves?
We've never seen that before.
That's because you can only see them at the Soundy Sea.
Want to see what you can do?
Sure.
Let me try, (Horn blowing) (Laughing) That's so cool.
Sounds make a wave.
Blow it again, Sally.
(Horn blowing) (Laughing) It's the same wave as before.
Isn't it fun?
I wonder what a different sound will do.
Let's find out.
(Clanging) Cool!
I'm going to try a whistle.
(Blowing raspberry) Oh, yeah, I don't know how to whistle.
Cat?
(Inhaling) (Whistling) (Laughing) Bigger sounds make bigger waves!
And smaller sounds make smaller waves.
What great ears and eyes!
Quiet sounds and loud sounds do make different size waves.
Too bad we didn't bring our instruments.
Maybe these instruments will do.
Oompapaphone, blatterumpet.

It was the soundwave of the horn.
How did that happen?
The Soundy Sea waves hit the cliff and bounced back.
You mean like a ball bouncing on a wall?
Yeah, and look.
That big wave has pushed us back towards the shore.
Yeah, soundwaves!
I'll echo that.
I said "I'll echo that!"
ECHO: I'll echo that!
(Laughing) When soundwaves bounce back, that's an echo!
ECHO: Echo!

ECHO: Home!
Safe and sound.
I can play with echoes all day.
Me too.
But we didn't come here to play with echoes.
We came to find out why we can't hear each other through closed windows.
And you know what, Sally, we did.

(Laughing) (Saxophone playing) (Saxophone playing) So, when the window's open, the soundwaves go right through.
And I can hear things.
But when the window was closed, the soundwaves hit the window and bounced back, just like the cliffs at the Soundy Sea.
Sounds about right.
(Laughing) Hmm, but I don't see any soundwaves.
They're invisible here.
That's why I took you to the Soundy Sea, so you could see the sounds.
See?
(Laughing) So, as long as your window is closed, the sounds I send out will always bounce back.
That means we can't play together unless our windows are open.
Unless-- Unless what?
Hmm.
Unless we make a hello hose!
What's a hello hose?
Hello?
Nick?
Can you hear me?
Ooh, it's working!
Hello, Sally.
You're coming in loud and clear.
One, two, three, four, Sally, can you hear me?

I got to say Sally's hello hose works great.
That's because the sound goes in one end and all the way to the other end.
