[Music] hi I'm Miss Penny from Kid Vision and today we're going on an immersive art experience about Leonardo da Vinci Come on let's go [Music] Leonardo da Vinci was a famous artist who painted amazing pictures like the Mona Lisa But he wasn't just a painter He also loved to invent things and study how the world works and draw cool ideas like flying machines and robots Da Vinci lived over 500 years ago in Italy Italy is a country in Europe that is shaped like a boot Italy is known for delicious food like pizza and pasta as well as beautiful art It has lots of famous paintings and sculptures many of which were done during the Renaissance period of time about 500 years ago when lots of artists were creating masterpieces including Leonardo da Vinci I'm Miss Penny I'm Seda and I'm here with the Kid Vision kids today to do the Da Vinci immersive art experience What is immersive immersive allows you to use your five senses to um play with the art in a new way So in an immersive experience you're allowed to touch you'll hear things you'll see things and sometimes you can even smell and taste things So when we walk into an immersive experience what can children expect or even adults expect to experience while we're there um they can expect to walk around They can expect to sit in different places They can touch the walls They can move around on the floor and also play some interactive games Wonderful Sounds great The kids are going to love it Yes [Music] Immersive means to be fully surrounded by something In this experience we were immersed in the art life and work of Leonardo da Vinci through music sounds and images on the walls and on the floor We interacted with art creating beautiful patterns when we touched the walls And we also got to play some games that were inspired by Da Vinci After experiencing the immersive space we moved into Da Vinci's workshop Okay So hello welcome My name is Jill and I am a dosent Do you know what a dosent is it's a weird word isn't it a dossent is somebody who works at a museum or maybe a zoo or something like that and tells you what to do and guides you around or yeah maybe shows you all the different things and tells you what's happening So that's what I'm going to do today We are in Leon Well we're pretending to be in Leonardo da Vinci's workshop You guys are going to be Leonardo da Vinci's apprentices What does that mean what does that mean does anybody know what that means no So an apprentice is somebody who is learning And the way they learn is by working with the master artist and the master artist works and the apprentices help them with their work So they learn all about the art and it's really cool So can you guys be apprentices Excellent But Miss Penny I need your help Sure Can you help me with something else yes You're not going to be an apprentice Do you know what you're going to be what a patron Oh do you know what a patron is miss Penny do you know what a patron is i think it's someone who has money they they would um give him money to do his work or they would say uh Mr Da Vinci would you paint a picture of me or would you paint a painting of my wife or would you create a lovely machine or a building for me so that is what the patrons would do So Miss Penny do you think that you could be a patron i would love to be a patron but you know what you need your patron outfit Can you can you put on your patron costume and pretend to be a patron okay we'll see Miss Penny in a few [Music] minutes [Music] Our young Kid Vision apprentices got a chance to experience Da Vinci's workshop They imagined inventions and created portraits A portrait is a picture of a person It can be a painting a drawing or a photo that shows what a person looks like Even though Da Vinci created some of the most famous paintings in the world he wasn't just an artist he was also an inventor Then it came time to create our own inventions just like Leonardo da Vinci Hello apprentices I would like to introduce your new patron Miss Penny Hello Hello It's so nice to see you today And what I'd like for you to please produce dear apprentices is a flying machine A flying machine Can you create a flying machine apprentices You think so yes It'd make me so happy Wait I know what color Miss Penny wants I like pink You like pink too i think so She looks like a a pink girl to me I'll take it Thank you Take your card and you're going to draw something that looks like this Watch I'm going to show you You're going to draw two lines in the middle like that Brown It doesn't have to be brown That's just I I ran out of pencils With your pencil you're going to draw two lines in the middle I didn't get a pencil Now we're going to turn that into the letter T like this So you're going to draw another line about the same width Okay So it looks like the letter T Mine's a little No that's perfect That's great That's just just right Let me see when you have the letter T Perfect Perfect Let me see Payton Let me see yours Excellent Excellent Okay Now we're going to do one more line and then we're going to cut And you have to listen very carefully when we use the scissors Okay You're gonna take your pencil and draw one more line right down the middle like that Where at the top of the tea Does it have to be the same width or is it just right in the middle right in the middle Does that look like a flying machine no not yet But let's see Okay So this line right here just the single line We're going to cut that right down to this part Okay Don't cut past that Okay To the top of the line right here So I'll show you what mine looks like Straight line So right there It doesn't It still doesn't look like It still doesn't look like a flying machine does it and I commissioned a flying machine You commissioned a flying machine how are we going to make a flying machine [Music] oh now it's time to see if our helicopters will spin They worked Wow [Applause] [Music] We had a great time
