It's so many fruits its so many vegetables around here, Guys, I just wonder where in the world.
Does all these fruits and vegetables come from?
It's not good, do you all know?
>>They come from the earth.
>>They come from the earth.
So let's just find them if we can get some help and let's see how they get here.
Let's see if we get some, Oh, look, there's some help.
>>Hey Boxer Hey, Shavian, this is the assistant manager at the store.
>>Got some good produce coming on?
>>Yeah, look at them.
They've been shopping and they picked out some good things.
And so we was actually very curious and wanted to know, first of all, what is produce?
>>Produce is anything that could be grown or produced, especially by farmers.
>>Okay, so all these fruits and vegetables that would be a great example.
>>Yes.
>>Okay, All right. So we was just curious how does all these stuff get here to the store?
Like where does all of these come from?
Because it's here.
How did he get here?
>>Okay.
So, OK we first get an order in for different items whether it's greenery, whether it's vegetables or fruits they come from different places depending on exactly what you want.
So we have keeping it back.
That's prepping some items that came into our Super Value trucks that we ordered.
It came to us and do you want to go see?
>>Yes, Keith we want to see, he is where?
>>He is our produce manager >>The produce manager?
>>He helps source the fruits and vegetables so you guys pick them up and take them home.
>>All Right.
>>So let's go meet Keith so we can find out where all these good stuff comes from.
Lets go find Keith.
I'm like, you all ready?
Come on.
Let's go.
(upbeat music) It's pretty cool.
Yeah.
How the grocery store is set up.
Did you know that all grocery stores, when you walk in you first have the produce and then you have your seafood you have your meat, you have your dairy you have your eggs all around the perimeter.
Do you know what perimeter means?
The only outset. So everything is on the outside and everything else is in the middle of the grocery store.
So that's where you also had your junk food.
We try to avoid the junk food, no temps, no cookies no sodas well we try to avoid those things.
Okay?
But then you have some healthy things in the middle as well Like nuts, beans, Brown rice.
Ken just like, your mom is over there buying now.
So it's pretty cool How all the grocery stores are set up.
Do you like that?
Is that neat?
>>Yea >>All right.
Well, let's see.
As we go to the back to see where these produce comes from.
>>Hey guys >>Hey >>How do you feel?
>>Oh, so this is the produce manager It's nice to meet you.
This is the produce manager.
So are you going to show us about the fruits and the vegetables where everything comes from.
That's going to be you >>Yes mum >>All right then, let's go back to the produce section so we can check it all out.
Let's go guys.
We keep thanking you for coming up here showing us everything with the produce.
Now I know the assistant manager she already told us how the trucks bring all the produce in.
And then it comes in the back.
And what do you all have to do in the back with the fruits and vegetables?
>>Normally we down stack the truck.
We have to date it.
Then we start our conditioning process.
>>Okay.
All right.
And so what's the condition process?
What do you have to do?
>>Pretty much.
It's take the items out the box.
We have to bug them, put them in the water.
Make sure they clean.
Oh, you have to clean the fruits and vegetables too?
>>Yes.
Mum.
>>What are you cleaning when you have it back there?
Why do you have to clean all fruits and vegetables?
Why do we need to do that?
>>Cause a lot of our product comes straight from the farm So a lot of it's dirty.
So we have to put in a water to clean it.
And as a plus to it makes it fresh and to stay fresh as.
>>Oh, okay.
So, yeah.
It's so fresh and so clean, clean and we got to keep the fruits and vegetables nice and clean that's right boxer.
And the other thing is when we buy the fruits and vegetables, if you already cleaned it why do we have to clean it again?
Well, we take it home before we can cook it and eat it?
>>You have a lot of people in close proximity to such products >>Okay >>Just want to be safe.
Okay.
So being safe in case somebody drops something on the floor and you didn't know anything about that.
>>Yes.
>>Get you all right.
Well that is perfect.
So we'll make sure we'll wash our fruits and vegetables before we eat them.
Right guys.
All right.
So that's cool.
Well, Keith, we thank you for coming over here to answer those questions but we have one more question, right?
Who was wondering about all these different colors but all these fruits and vegetables is Why is it so many different colors When it comes to fruits and vegetables?
>>Produce has a lot of nutrients, vitamins, vitamins, and minerals.
Okay.
So then your body can work appropriately in everything.
So that's what gives it all these nice different colors.
So, so kids, look, we have to make sure that we eat a lot of different colors when it comes to fruits and vegetables.
Cause you can get a lot of different nutrients with the vitamins, the minerals, all the good stuff.
So our bodies will what?
work right.
Is that right Boxer?
because we want our bodies to work.
Nice inappropriately.
All right, we thank you Keith.
We appreciate you taking the time to answer all these questions about the produce.
All right.
You have a great day.
>>You too Alright kids look like you all got some great fruits and vegetables You got to make sure you eat like five to seven servings of fruits and vegetables every single day.
You think you can do that?
Oh wow.
Oh wow.
There's your mom looks like She's ready to go.
So you all go ahead and take your basket.
With you.
And you all go ahead and check on.
I'll see you guy later.
Bye >>Bye >>All right.
Take care Wow.
Boxer that was once seeing them here.
So I guess we got to continue to keep on shopping and everything.
Let's get some beans and some Brown rice.
Come on.
Let's go Come on kids (upbeat music) Here we go I think we get plenty of fruits and vegetables in there.
We got our beans and rice.
We did good today.
It scares that you notice anything.
What I did not buy today, me and boxer.
We didn't not buy any meat today.
And why?
Because guess what?
You don't always need to eat meat with every single meal.
So sometimes we dislike to eat our fruits our vegetables, our beans, our nuts, our whole grains all those kind of healthy things.
So no meat today and it's okay.
It works out great.
We got all these nutrients.
Cause we learned today about all the vitamins and minerals.
All the good stuff is inside the fruit.
So here, we're going to check everything out.
(upbeat music) Wait a minute.
So you don't have any money.
How are we going to pay for all these food?
Oh my goodness.
Ah, boxer.
Kids, do you do this to your parents?
show up at the cash register?
Don't have any money and then your parents have to pay.
Well, okay.
Boxer It is a good thing.
I brought my credit card.
Oh, so I'm going to pay this time.
All right.
So we got all of our groceries.
Now.
This is wonderful.
Thank you so much.
We appreciate you coming Well kids, we had a good time here at the grocery store.
We learned all about produce and where the produce comes from.
We even learn about the perimeter that's around the store.
So since we got everything boxer I think we can get ready to go.
So kids remember diet and workout equals what?
Great success.
Bye.
Bye.
You all have a good one.
Yeah, we've got good stuff (upbeat music) A is for And we are back Wow.
That was really me and you we got to shower.
Eli's mom lets them pick out their favorite fruits and vegetables.
That is so awesome.
So kids ask your Mom you pick out some of your favorite fruits and vegetables.
Cause we have to get in 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables every single day.
That is so important.
Now let's see what you got for your W for workout.
And we know workout is what?
exercises, sports, physical activity.
So I think you've got something special plan for us.
Is that right Boxer?
>>Yeah.
Boxer is going to let us take a look at him doing one of his favorite sports, which is martial arts doing a little TaeKwonDo.
All right.
Let's take a look.
(upbeat music) Hey, come on boxer.
I'm so excited.
He was on a workout today.
We're going to do a little TaeKwonDo.
This is where I learned some TaeKwonDo with grand master Dong.
So I'm excited to show you this.
Come on, boxer.
Let's check it out.
Oh, well now we come into the dojo.
We have to bow Ah Now, kids.
I am so excited that you are all with us today because martial arts is a great physical activity.
Isn't it boxer?
It is so much fun.
And you have all different types of martial arts for instance, Boxer has a black belt in mountakha, and mountakha is all the way from Thailand That's where it originated.
And then I also have a black belt in Taiseisha Shotokan.
Shotokan comes all the way from Japan.
And then today I'm so excited for joining us because we're going to learn a little bit about TaeKwonDo and TaeKwonDo it originated in Korea.
So let's see what's going on today.
Oh, look, here is Master Green smith.
>>Good afternoon.
How are you all doing today?
>>Hello, master Green Smith.
We're excited about working out with you today.
I bought my friend boxer.
He wanted to come.
He's actually taking TaeKwonDo with grand master Zoost over at the downtown gym.
>>Nice, oh very cool >>All right, so do you know Zoost Metriach?
>>I have heard of him, he is a friend of master Dong.
>>Grand master Dong so you know you are good hands.
You are in good hands here today.
All right.
So what'd you got plan for us today?
>>Well, today we're going to work out and have some punches and some kicks and we'll have some fun >>All right kids, Let's go have some fun.
Kids.
we want you all to participate too.
Because this is something everybody can do.
Right?
Master Green Smith?
>>Definitely, this is something we all can do but it's going to make our bodies healthy our mind sharp and we can have so much fun.
>>Okay.
All right.
So can you just show us some basic things?
>>The most important thing we start off with showing respect for martial.
When we put our feet together, hands at your side and we want to bow.
All right, that's very important.
Always care about one another.
Now this time we're going to make any horseback riding seat for it starts with basic punches.
Your toes are going to be out.
You're going to bend your knees.
Awesome.
Now we're going to practice making our punches.
So we're going to put our hands up, roll your hands up.
Nice and tight.
Squeeze them in your hands.
Don't bend your waist.
Now make them nice and straight Now pull your hands back along our side right here.
Excellent, now bring your hands coming back forward.
And when you go forward, you want to twist the forward and bring them backwards going backwards and then twist them when you come back.
Do that again, ready to going forward and twist backward and twist.
Good.
And when forward did you hear a awesome yell.
We call it kiah.
So you can bring your hands forward.
And you going to bring it back.
(team yells) Forward again (team yells) We're going to do one here, back hundreds side.
All right.
And then we're going to change hands.
Ready One, Two, Three.
Four Five Very nice.
All right.
Bring your feet back together, making attention and Bow >>Shouting That was exciting Did you see us?
Saw you busting.
I saw you punch it.
I saw you punch the kids.
That was so much fun and he did a great job explaining it.
So how about just show us house to do a kick?
>>All right.
And then, so we're going to do something called a sidekick.
this is one of the most powerful kicks that you can make.
It's very, very strong.
So we're going to start off.
Put your feet about shoulder width apart.
Okay.
Now I want you to do put your left hand up.
We're going to put our right hand.
So the opposite.
So they copy us and we're going to take our knee and lift it up try to touch it, just like this so to bring it up right.
Now don't bring it like this.
I want you to bring your knee until you're put it behind your knee.
Right.
Let's try it three times Ready?
One Good Ready Two Yes.
And, three Good, and this is called chamber.
Okay.
Getting your right leg the next part is (you have to match out for a second) good, so what were are going to knee and a kick knee and a kick to that direction over there, okay.
Are you ready?
And, one Knee Kick All right only be careful when you are kicking, ladies and gentlemen.
Ready, and go Knee (team yells) Very nice, ready again go Knee (team yells) Right hand go Knee (team yells) Pulling together, and bow (Dr. Addie shouts) >>Kids, you all did great had to feel those strong kids all the way here.
So Boxer, that's how you feel you're doing good?
this is lots of fun.
So these are the things that you can do at home but you have to remember kicking and punching in the air.
Okay?
Make sure you have enough room and you never go around and kick and punch anybody because kids and punches up powerful.
Hey, so what's going on?
How are you?
>>Am doing really good >>And what's your name?
>>Jamison.
>>Jamison.
So Jamison.
I see you have a black belt and everything.
How long have you been taking TaeKwonDo?
>>About six years.
>>Six years.
That's a long time.
How long did it take you to get your black belt?
>>Pretty much the same time.
>>The same time?
Six years.
Okay Well, what is your favorite part about martial arts?
>>Learning new stuff.
>>And what, what kind of stuff do you like to learn?
>>Kicks punches.
Nunchucks is my most favorite.
>>Okay.
Can you show me a kick real quick?
Can you show us a good kick?
Let's see Just the one in the air.
>>Oh, yes.
okay >>Oh, men can you do that again?
Oh that's impressive.
Well.
So do you plan on one day being a master or even a Grandmaster?
>>Yeah, that's that's my goal.
>>That's your goal Oh, good job with Jamison.
Thank you for joining us today.
And he is definitely somebody who is fit.
So, Alright thank you, Jamison >>Thank you too >>All right.
(Dr. Addie laughs) Wow.
That was really fun.
Doing all the punches and kicks.
So we just got some questions for you.
I was wondering how long have you been doing that?
>>Oh, Jesus.
I started this when I was a teenager.
I've been doing it for around 27 years.
>>Oh my goodness.
So how long does it take to get up black belt or even become a master like you are or become a Grandmaster like Grandmaster Dong?
>>Excellent question.
So, you know, there are many different color belts.
Which makes it becoming a black belt.
>>OK >>And so it takes about three years of training to become a black belt.
And that we call a first degree black belt.
And you'll see a lot of styles They have stripes in their belts which indicate which level they are.
And then each level takes several different years.
So like getting a master it takes about 20 years and getting to the highest work.
It's ninth degree.
It takes about 50 years.
>>Fifty years!
Oh my God, Boxer.
So that's a long time.
Can you imagine fifty years?
That is so long.
So what's the youngest.
Anybody can start taking Martial art?
>>It's usually around three years of age, they can start.
My children started there.
The young man you see in the video too, too as well.
He, he started when he was three.
So, Yeah >>So three years of age.
So Boxer I think you got a little puppy when you started, right?
He was a little teeny puppy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I know you were.
(Dr. Addie laughs) Now, we already showed us how to kick, You've showed us how to punch.
What are some other things that you all do at TaeKwonDo?
What are some of the things?
>>Well, we do several different things.
So like one of the things that, for instance we do a sparring which has controlled punching and kicking towards each other.
So we don't hurt each other.
Of course.
>>Okay.
>>And then we also do meditation too as well.
>>Meditation.
So what is meditation for?
>>It's an exercise for breathing and then helping for your health.
>>Okay.
>>So clearing your mind as well.
>>Okay.
And what's some other things that you do here.
>>We do in many other things, such as hitting targets which have a lot of fun, because then you can really hit them without hurting anybody.
>>Okay.
And we think, also what are nunchucks?
>>Nunchucks Oh yeah.
Those, those are a lot of fun.
As long as you don't hit yourself.
And that's what we practice with someones.
So they're soft.
>>Okay.
So those are not hard.
The kids, the ones the kids are used, they're not hard.
And then to knock themselves out >>It can actually hurt even the soft ones, You can hurt yourself if you're not careful.
>>So you have to be careful and that's so All right then, well, you know what?
We appreciate you just letting us come over, Boxer the wanting to come work out with you guys.
And this has been fun.
Right Boxer?
Have you enjoyed the kids?
Everyone enjoyed this.
So we have had an awesome time.
We got our workout in because we know that we had to get 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
So martial arts is a great way to do that.
So remember kids diet and work out = what?
Great success.
Bye, bye.
(upbeat music) Wow, Boxer.
I was so excited to you all with breaking old boards and everything.
Man, it was great working out at Dong studio.
We just thank master Green Smith for helping us out.
That was awesome.
I see why you like martial arts.
I love it too.
So that's a great thing to do.
So let's kind of sum up everything.
Cause we did a D for diet, which we went to learn all about produce or fruits and vegetables, getting out 5-7 servings and therefore workout.
We did a little TaeKwonDo and those kids were really awesome.
So, let's see Boxer that all of that's going to equal great success.
so we got to pull out, come on, kids, bunch of food and activity log and let's see, what did you do?
Boxer, let's see Oh, Boxer brought himself, Boxer scored 42 points Aah.
You payload on that.
So that means that Boxer has earned a gold tag this week.
No.
So he likes to do earn no gold tags.
I had quick kids out there this week.
Did any of you earn a gold tag this week?
Yes.
All right.
And what about Any silver tags this week?
Oh man.
We've got a lot of success going on And what about bronze tag?
Yes, we got the bronze tag.
So he, here is Boxer's gold tag with your name right there that you earned.
So here you go.
You can put that up on the refrigerator.
So this is awesome.
So we want to thank everybody for tuning in.
We want to thank Dong studio.
We also want to thank the market at 25th street.
we had keep their Sherwood.
They helped us out a lot.
So thank all you guys.
And now we're going to end the show.
So we want everybody to stand up because we gotta get some movement.
We've been sitting down for a long time.
So we're going to pop up the music right now and you know Boxer was punching at me at last.
I think I might have to take Boxer out.
So remember, Diet and workout = great success Alright guys ♪ diet and workout equals great success ♪ (upbeat music) Special thanks for the market at 25th street.
