U of M alum Norman Borlaug and his colleagues arrive in 1940s Mexico to help farmers increase wheat yields. Borlaug was successful through his work ethic and charisma combined with the courage of Mexican farmers. The wheat was then planted in Pakistan and India, saving millions of starving people. For this, Borlaug won the 1970 Nobel Peace Prize.
