A graduate of Macalester College, he had worked as the Director of Hispanic Ministries for the Minnesota Council of Churches. A former paralegal, he now represents St. Paul District 65b in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Feeling good about being a product of both Puerto Rico and the United States, Mariani is proud of his journey and his parents journey.
