- Oh, I think it's long.
(gentle music) I'm surprised that I'm 100 years old every once in a while.
Like, how did it happen?
(gentle music continues) I think I thought of myself as an artist first, who became a photographer.
I didn't travel, you know, far away, to far away places.
I photographed where I was living.
And I thought, "Well, maybe I could find some pictures to take on Federal Hill."
When you're walking, you see something and it's attractive and you photograph it.
You don't make a picture in your head, picture's in your vision.
You see something going on and you wanna capture it.
When the physical and the timing, when everything comes together, the moment, it's a very, very short time.
It doesn't last long.
And if you don't capture it when you can do it, forget it.
You can't, you can't... Mope around.
(gulls calling) Oh yeah, well, Oakland Beach was one of my favorites because it was visual.
It was by the water and it was so nice.
(children shouting indistinctly) You know, as you get older, you don't have the energy.
You're not exactly able to grab your hat and coat and your camera and jump in the car and go someplace.
I mean, forget it.
(laughs) You're tired.
