What if we brought her favorite cartoon characters to life on the page?
Riley, let's take a break from TV and read a book.
(playful music) We picked up some books based on her favorite shows.
Sometimes I'll read while she listens and looks at the pictures.

Other times she takes over as the storyteller.

- Even though she hasn't learned to read yet she can tell her own story based on the pictures and her knowledge of the characters.
I even encourage her to use their voices and imitate their expressions.
