You mean it's a mystery?
Oh, I love mysteries!
They're so... mysterious.
But how do we solve this one?
Easy-sneezy.

And I know exactly where it is.

Unless it's invisible, there's no book here, Cat.
Maybe somebody took it?

Another mystery!
Wait.
Look at those footprints.
Maybe whoever took the guidebook went that way.
You're right, Nick.
Those footprints could be a clue.
You discovered a clue with just one single look, you might not even need that old mystery book.
We still have to solve the mystery at home, Cat.
Right!
Let's follow those footprints.
The footprints stop here.
Whoever we're following must have gone up this ramp.

This isn't a ramp.
It's more like a see-saw.

The end that's heavier goes down and the end that's lighter goes up.
Together, you two are heavier than I am.
Mystery solved!
Yes, but it still hasn't gotten us any closer to finding out where the mystery solving guidebook went.
No, but those footprints might.
Follow those footprints.
Whoever left those footprints went in here.
Let's go.
(Whistle sounding) (Laughing) What happened?
I just opened the gate.
Where where did that ball come from?
And how did it end up in this cup?
Hmm.
A mystery indeed.
Hmm.
(Gasping) Unless we can find the cause.
You mean what made it happen?
Exactly.
Let's see.
You opened the gate like this... Oh!
It must have bumped into this hammer thing.
FISH: Right.
But where does the ball come in?
Well, if the ball was in this thing, maybe the hammer made it go up this pole.
NICK: And it caused the ball to go down that curvy shoot.
And that made the whistle blow.
Let's put the ball there and see what happens if you swing the gate open again.
Oh, I can't wait to see.
(Whistle sounding) It happened again!
So, opening the gate was the cause.
A-ha!
I see!
And the effect?
You mean what happened next?
What did happen next?
The ball went up to the top of the shoot and then went down and landed in the cup, which made the whistle blow.
That's the effect.
Great, but it doesn't help us find the book.
Remember the book?
Right.
We were following the footprints.
But now, I see too many.
How are we going to follow footprints when they go off in every direction?
It's impossible!
When the trials ahead cause you two to feel blue, why not see the effect of Thing 1 and Thing 2?
(Whistling) (Whooping) (Chattering) Woo-hoo!
BOTH: Hello!
Can you follow the footprints and see if they lead you to my mystery solving guidebook?
BOTH: Mm-hmm!
(Whooping) (Chattering) Whoa!
Thing 2!
Look out!
Huh?
Whoa!
(Chattering angrily) Thing 2, it wasn't Thing 1's fault.
We saw it all.
(Whistling) Nick, Sally, can you please explain to the Things what just happened?
Sure.
Thing 1 pulled down on this rope by mistake and that caused the boot to swing back.
And when he let go, the boot swing forward and kicked the ball that was at the top of the slide.
The effect of kicking the ball was that it rolled down the slide... And it almost hit Thing 2, before knocking down that big blue thing.
(Chattering) Well, I'm glad you figured that out.
Now, maybe we can get back to looking for the book.
(Chattering) KIDS: The book!
(Whooping) (Vocalizing) Oh, no!
We'll never get it down from way up there.
Hmm... Not so fast, Fish.
Maybe we don't have to reach it ourselves.
I don't follow you.
I think I do.
All we have to do is think of cause and effect.
And see how they connect.
Exactly.
I still don't see how they're going to get the book.
If any team can do the trick, I choose our Sally and our Nick.
Just move it a little bit more this way.
(Straining) Phew.

We solved the mystery of who spilled the glass of water.
And we're going to show you how it happened.
My glass of water was on the edge of the table and my model plane box was over here.
The ball was here, just on the edge of the ruler, which was resting on this eraser.
Now, watch what happens when I put my book on this end of the ruler.
It's going to cause the ball to roll, which causes the box to fall over.
And the effect of that is Nick's glass of water will spill.
Ready?
Ready!
SALLY: And that's how it happened.
I spilled the water... (Laughing) ...without even knowing it.
Mystery solved.
Amazing!
It's a perfect example of cause and effect, and that's why you two have my total respect.
(All cheering) Yeah!
(Instruments playing) ♪ Sounds good!
Wait until you hear the ending.
(Instruments playing) (Sighing) Huh?
(Instruments playing) How'd you do that?
Lots of practice.
I meant my water was shaking.
Hmm...

Because asking questions leads to looking for answers, and looking for answers is always an adventure.
So, what's the question?
(Laughing) We want to find out why Fish's water moved when we play our instruments.
Now that is a great question, and I know the perfect way to find an answer-- with a visit to the Jingly Jungle and the Great Vibrato.

Only the most amazing musician ever.
Lucky for you, she's doing a concert today.
Maybe you'd like to go see or hear?
Going to a music concert is always a great idea.

I don't see anyone.

Would you be okay if you were flipped upside-down on a mushroom and couldn't get up?

I was stretching my wings before my performance and I just got carried away.
Next thing I knew, I was flipped on my back.
Vibrato, is that you?
Is that the Cat?

(Laughing) And I even brought a few new fans - Nick, Sally and Fish.
Hang on, Vibrato.
We'll save you.

It's too slippery to climb.
How are we going to rescue Vibrato?

Why don't you just fly up in the Thingamajigger?
Good idea!
The Jingly Jungle is much too jungle-y for that.

(Gasping) I know!
What if we throw her a safety line?
One of these vines would reach.
(Deep note sounding) Whoa-ho-ho.
That's so cool.
What's cool?
(Voice vibrating:) Whoa!
Aww.
Why did you make it stop?
The sound stopped when the vine stopped moving.
So, where did the sound go?
Another good question!
I think I know.
(Deep note sounding) The vine only makes the sound when it's moving.
See?
(Deep note sounding) Interesting answer.
So, the sound and the vibration happen together and stop together.
Vibration?
That's what you call it when something shakes back and forth?
And forth and back.
That's vibration for you.
Vibration sounds kind of like "Vibrato".
Ahem.
Speaking of me, weren't you supposed to be forming a rescue plan?
Yes, Vibrato, but how can we get up that high to help you?
When you're rescuing someone who's not in your view, who better to call than Thing 1 and Thing 2?
(Whistling) BOTH: Woo-hoo!
(Making fanfare sounds) (Chattering) (Whooping) BOTH: Hello!
Can you see a way to rescue our friend... way up there?!
Yee-haw!
Yee-haw!
(Chattering) (Groaning) Ooh!
A-ha!
Hmm.
A-ha!
Ooh!
(Chattering) Whoa!
(Chuckling) (Drum booming) (Voices vibrating) That big boom sure rattled the Things.
Don't worry!
The vibrations will only happen as long as the sounds do.
BOTH: Ooh!
Woo-hoo!
(Drum booming) (Voices vibrating) (Drum booming) (Voices vibrating) Woo-hoo!
Look at those Things move!
And listen to them boom.
It's like the vines.
The sounds and the vibrations happen together.
Maybe you can't have one without the other.
Sound and vibration.
Vibration and sound.
(Gasping) Hey!
Maybe we can use sound and vibration to rescue Vibrato.
Finally, they remembered me.
Look, if we make sounds on the mushroom, it'll vibrate.
(Sound resonating) And that'll make Vibrato vibrate, too, maybe enough to bounce her off her back.
I like the sound of that.
Perhaps these rat-a-tat-tatters will help?
SALLY: They're perfect.
Vibrato, get ready to move!
I am so ready.
(Drumming) (Sound resonating) Whoa!
I'm bouncing!
It's working.
The sound vibrations are moving the mushroom.
And Vibrato!
I'm bouncing!
But I'm still on my back!
Drum harder!
VIBRATO: Whoa!

(Gasping) Wait, I know.

Why Fish's water moved when we played our instruments.
(Gasping) Sally forgot to ask Vibrato for the answer!
That's okay.
Now I know it was the sound vibrations from our instruments that moved Fish's water.
It was?
(Playing trumpet) (Laughing) It was!
Just like Vibrato's concert made everything in the Jingly Jungle move.
So, in a way, Fish's water was dancing to the music because of vibrations.
Oh, those good vibrations!
