She feels uncomfortable being called a peace activist. She has worked in a defense plant for 19 years, but has worked tirelessly with her union to lobby management to convert to a nonmilitary manufacturing base. When companies merged, they knew 10% would be laid off immediately. But when the layoffs continued and Munson's name was called after 18 years, it came as a shock.
