Contamination in Cairo
Special | 4m 55sVideo has Closed Captions
Cairo, New York is ground zero for contamination thanks to "forever chemicals" in water.
PFAS type chemicals, found in products like Teflon and Scotchgard, have been found in water supplies across the country. Known as “forever chemicals,” they are not soluble in water, they don’t degrade naturally in the human body, and they have been linked to numerous negative health effects. Cairo is just one of the places where firefighting foam has introduced PFOS into the water supply.
