(gentle guitar music) Thanks for joining me today, Peggy.

- It's my pleasure.

- I'm curious to know what are three things that fill you with joy?

- Well, the very first thing is I love to be in nature, particularly forest.

That's my most favorite place, 'cause it's nice and cool, and there's all sorts of interesting things to slow down in- - Yeah.

- And notice, so.

I love being out in the forest.

I get great joy from our grandchildren.

We have eight grandchildren, I mean, the oldest is 21, and she's been a joy since the moment she was born, but they're especially fun when they're really young.

- Yeah.

- And imagining what they're gonna be, and the things they say are funny, and they're so exuberant in their love.

- Oh yeah.

- Third thing?

- The third thing.

- My husband, and just spending time with him, and talking things out, and thinking things through.

and laughing.

We laugh a lot.

We don't either one of us take ourselves terribly seriously.

- That's a great thing.

And it sounds like you just have so much joy in your life.

- I do.

- How do you spread joy to other people?

- I learned from a young man that I was mentoring in ministry, that in his understanding of the reason we were created is that we were created to be a blessing.

And when he said that, I was like, that's it, that's all.

That is the only thing, just to be a blessing.

So, I try to be that in whatever circumstance I'm in, whether it's the grocery store, or pumping gas, or whatever it might be.

- All those little moments add up.

- Yes, they do.

They're so important.

- Well, thank you for being with me, and for spreading joy to me today with your answers.

- It's been my pleasure.
