Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is available to stream on pbs.org and the PBS app.
Now, I'm going to need your help.
- OK, Uncle X.
- Hoo hoo!
What do you think our story is going to be about?
What do you think?
- I think it's going to be about Trolley!
- Well, let's see; the title of our story is...
The Little Red Trolley.
- I thought it would be about Trolley!
- I knew it!
- Ok, let's begin.
O?
- Hoo hoo!
- Once upon a time, there was a little red trolley who lived in a very special neighborhood.
- (Daniel): That's our neighborhood!
- (Prince Wednesday): And there's Trolley!
- (Miss Elaina): I can see my house, toots.
I can see my house!
- Trolley loved the neighborhood, but one day, Trolley decided to see other places in the world.
So Trolley set off on an adventure and rolled away.
Trolley said.... - Ding!
Ding!
Come, on, let's all say it!
- (all): Ding!
Ding!
- (X): Where do you think Trolley wants to go?
- The moon?
- My house?
- It could be anywhere!
- Let's find out.
Trolley rolled up a mountain to the tippy top.
Trolley said... - (kids): Ding!
Ding!
- Trolley rolled through the jungle, under the leafy trees.
Trolley said... - (kids): Ding!
Ding!
- Trolley rolled past the beach on the smooth sand.
Trolley said... - (kids): Ding!
Ding!
- Now, what do you see?
- (Miss Elaina): I see a windmill.
Trolley is in windmill land.
- I see pretty flowers, meow-meow!
- Nice noticing!
Trolley rolled all day and rolled through the night -- just like you're up at night.
- Ooh, and I saw the moon!
- Meow meow, I did too!
And the stars!
(chuckling) - There's a lot to see at night, isn't there?
Now, let's find out what happens to Trolley next.
- Trolley had rolled all around the world and seen some wonderful places, but Trolley was sad.
Trolley missed home.
- Poor Trolley!
(all murmuring sadly) - Trolley's sad.
- Oh... What will Trolley do?
What would you do if you were sad and missed your home?
- (X): Trolley knew what to do.
Trolley started to roll back home past the beach on the smooth sand.
Trolley said... - Ding!
Ding!
- Trolley rolled through the jungle and rolled under the leafy trees.
Trolley said... - (kids): Ding!
Ding!
- And Trolley rolled up a mountain to the tippy-tippy-top.
Trolley said... - (kids): Ding!
Ding!
- Until finally, Trolley rolled right back home to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.
(kids cheering) - (O): Trolley's home now!
- (Daniel): That's us!
- (X): Trolley knew that home would always be with the neighbors, who Trolley loved.
Trolley said... - (kids): Ding!
Ding!
- The end.
