First deadline of the session is moving general bills out of committee and on to the floor
Lawmakers are taking a closer look at Abortion Rights, Landowner Liability and Criminal Justice Reform on the floor in both chambers. Under a Tuesday deadline, measures to extend the state’s hate crime law to protect LGBTQ and disabled individuals died. Several bills to eliminate the state’s lifetime voting ban also died in committee. Some legislators say the debate on these issues will continue.
