Hi!
I'm Deysi from Design Squad.
Have you played Fidgit Factory on the Design Squad Web site?
You have to build a circuit to power your Fidgit Factory, then dress up the fidgits before the power runs out.
We love Fidgit Factory so much, we decided to make a real life version of the game.
A bunch of kids at the Cambridge Science Festival helped us.
Our goal was to make a complete circuit that would light up the light bulb on top.
Circuits are the path along which electricity can travel.
When you make a complete pathway for the electricity to flow from the battery to a light bulb and back to the battery, the light bulb lights up.
This circuit is not currently closed.
But that's where the fidgits come in.
We made a sled for our fidgits out of a paper towel tube, aluminum foil, and some coins to weigh it down.
Three, two... Yay, whoo!
Oh, poor little guy fell out.
But the light bulb turned on.
Why?
Because the aluminum foil connected the two copper strips together to complete the circuit.
And that's why the light bulb turned on.
What could you build to bring your favorite video game to life?
Send in your ideas to the Design Squad Web site, and make sure to check out Fidgit Factory!
