>> I'm Amy Kukulya, and I'm an oceanographic engineer, and I have a really cool job working with underwater robots.
Oceanographic engineers use underwater robots to explore areas of the ocean where no one has done any research before.
My role was making the underwater robot REMUS streamlined and fast, sort of put as much instrumentation on it, like cameras and sensors that measure temperature and saltness of the water, and you want to know why are there no fish in an area where there used to be?
Instead of going out for a long period of time with tons of huge equipment, you get this little, small package that can videotape that whole area.
REMUS is faster and safer and more efficient.
