Arsenal History Minutes | Battle of Bad Axe/BlackHawk | WQPT

On the first and second of August 1832 the battle of Bad Axe was fought between American forces and Black Hawk’s band of Sauk and Fox followers. On 1 August, Blackhawk and his group were attempting to cross the Mississippi river from Wisconsin to Iowa. As they were preparing canoes for the crossing the steamboat Warrior arrived.
