Everybody's Welcome at John's Place

Special | 26m 45sVideo has Closed Captions

A favorite hangout for Cookeville, Tennesseans and Tennessee Tech students and alumni.

In Cookeville, TN, in the 1960s and 70s, there were only three places to go and have a beer but everyone was always welcome at John's Place. It was the first fully integrated establishment in Cookeville. People from all walks of life would visit for a bite to eat or to have a beer and a famous John Dog. WCTE saddled up to the bar to talk with patrons, friends and family of this special spot.
