Get my shoes on at the door.
I'm Lapchick.
seven They feel great.
I'm gonna shine after I do it, I'm gonna do it.
But do they get a look at this guy with the beautiful color about the weather?
Just for me to not share it with another?
I got to show to give that out.
Singing show, I'll take a look at a beautiful for That's Earth, your beautiful.
And together, make beautiful life.
And that's what I think the come along with me.
That's right.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to experience Michigan.
And welcome to a brand new year of fun play and food and getting active.
We are so glad to have 2022 with you and to bring you all of these wonderful things you can experience in our community.
But before we do that, we're going to actually take a look back and remember some of our favorites of last year and one of my favorite things to do.
We just have to be honest, Courtney, it's been happening.
You know, one of my favorites that we stopped in was the early bird eatery.
Honestly, I still have people coming up and asking me, what was that that you had?
Because I want to go get that too.
And it was that lemon blueberry pancake, though I still have dreams about it.
Honestly, it's amazing, really.
Well, one of my favorites was Iron Shoe Distillery, and they had this one.
Oh my goodness, I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was a smoked cocktail and that that's when I got home.
I had to take a nap.
The really good.
But the food was so good too.
And and the portions.
Oh my goodness, so generous.
But but lots of fun things out there.
Another one of my favorites.
What a positive piece.
I love to drink tea and it just had this kind of kind of punk vibe to it as well.
So it was just a great place to go in there and just have tea and also just enjoy the atmosphere.
You know, it really is about community for these locally owned restaurants and how they tie themselves into the communities that they are in.
And you can really get a sense of that when we go there and experience not just great food, but that that community atmosphere.
Absolutely.
Well, you know, after you eat, you do have to work it off a little bit.
And so we're going to eat, but we're also going to get active.
And one of my absolute favorites, net effect.
I tell people all about it all the time, and I can't forget that experience was paddle board yoga.
And I think that's your favorite because you're so terrified.
It was.
It was amazing.
It's something I never would've even thought possible.
I didn't even know you could get on the power board and do yoga.
No, I did not know that either.
And I was I was terrified.
Courtney, you know, Courtney, she was just like, you know, just paddling and doing all that.
And she was just awesome.
And I'm just like panicking.
But afterwards, afterwards, I can say I am a glorious goddess.
Yeah, well, I'm going to.
I'm going to speak for Dave here because I'm sure one of his favorites was the Go Ariel Fitness, where he could have sworn he was going to die at any minute as he was hanging upside down.
But it was such a great way to get fit in once.
Once you had that teachers show you what to do.
You know, OK, this makes sense.
And so it was quite the experience.
It really was.
And then another one of mine with line dancing.
And it's just a great lady.
Her name is Elaine in the community, doesn't even charge, just loves dancing and so invites people to come and learn.
These different line dances with her is so much fun.
And another favorite was the boxing laser boxing.
I went, and I know Dave loves the boxing.
Oh, he does, and he's so good at it, too.
But I met him one morning.
I think it was 7:00, and one of the things that really stood out to me was not just the workout itself, but it was this community of people working out together.
It was so cool.
They were so supportive of each other, and that's really what made the experience so special.
And that's what we're doing here, bringing the community together.
So, hey, let's get you eating and let's get you active.
Check it out and take a look at this, OK?
Biscuits and gravy and look at how much grain they put on this and look at this.
Sheila Gillies, I hope I said that right?
This chorizo, he had to Rizzo and then there was black beans and then an egg.
And I heard this is so delicious and underneath.
That's what the two Achilles.
And I'm hope I'm saying that right?
But I can't wait to try that.
And this masterpiece is sweet potato waffles.
I can't wait to eat this because it's also gluten free.
Oh my goodness.
I did try this new potato.
OK, so good.
I really want to try the Teresa's sausage.
I'll let you try that too cool.
And now I'm going to try the biscuits and gravy while he's getting some of that sick.
Hey, look, I'm getting a strawberry, though, and there I.
Very good.
This is great.
The gravy, the biscuits are really nice and flaky in the gravy, have some great flavor that is beautiful, is beautiful.
I never thought of sweet potato for a waffle, but that is so good.
It is, yeah.
Oh, OK.
So the cheese i of just kind of throw a little crunchy, almost like a topping shell.
Oh, that bad.
I'm putting a little bit of guacamole on there.
Got a little bit of cilantro as well.
We have the hardest job in the world is very hard.
Oh my goodness.
Very good.
I can see why everybody loves both eatery.
Right?
I'm so glad that we had a chance to come here today.
Well, this is really good.
And so they do brunch here, so they do breakfast and lunch, and they open seven to three.
So guys come on out to relax and check out folks eatery.
That is beautiful.
Just take another bite now.
OK, so I'm going to make for you the smoked show, and it's a hickory, smoked infused maple old fashioned.
Wow, that sounds really good.
What's so what I'm doing is I'm starting off with hickory wood chips here, and we just topped these off and the smoked gun.
And then I'm going to add the maple fashion into the bottle.
That'll make it nice and sweet, right?
Yeah.
And then we're just going to give this the light here.
I often hear.
Wow.
There's a lot that goes into this.
Yeah.
But it gives the customer a unique experience because what it is serving in the glass will hold off in the bottle.
Cheers.
Cheers.
All right.
Here we go, guys.
Whew.
Wow.
Oh my gosh, that is really good.
I'm not used to drinking too much, but I tell you, I'll take another one.
All right, perfect.
This is our nachos here.
It comes with our house made nacho cheese.
We have a slow roasted pork that's on there.
Yeah, very, very good.
Now what is this here?
I'll start with the base that comes with a fig jam comes with all Angus beef patty topped with burrata cheese on top with bacon and arugula in our house made garlic.
Everything.
That's fantastic.
I love it.
Yeah, no.
I love to get that big jam too.
Oh my goodness.
Well, the sweet and salty sweet resolving this.
These are a crispy cheese curds here.
I had heard about those for sure.
They're very good.
It comes with our house made saroja sauce and this is our Cubano.
It comes with our bread and butter, pickles, mustard, our slow roasted pork, honey, ham and all pressed on our grill.
Wow, that sounds really nice and flat.
Delicious.
So I have the limoncello tiramisu, so they get on top of blueberries and then this is a bourbon vanilla bean pudding with strawberry on top.
Oh my goodness, I can't wait to try it.
Thank you so much.
The food is so good.
Everything is great but surprised.
You really do have to come on out here.
Come on down due to iron studiously.
Bring your family, bring your kids great food, great desserts, great drinks.
So this is a great example of brunch.
This is what I call brunch, all of it at once.
Here we have our Hammond asparagus benedict.
OK, our eggs come from microfilmed farms out of North third New Liberty.
So you guys are using local vendors to for a number of your products also.
Yeah, yeah.
And our ham also comes from Jake's Country Meats out of Cass Apollos Michigan.
OK, and then what do we have here?
So we have our big old.
The locks are made in-house pastrami glaze, so it's not smoked.
I do a preserved lemon capers, red onion, cucumber and dill, and that goes on a sesame seed bun.
And I think what's so unique about the early bird eatery here is you guys make so much in-house.
You were just talking about the lemons, but you do that in-house too.
Yeah, yeah, we preserve them in-house.
It's about a 30 day process.
You know, it just kind of take those small steps are extra steps just to create a heightened product and a heightened brunch.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm going to bite into this.
Is that OK?
Yeah, I'd probably be less different things about this.
I've had friends who have tried it.
Yeah, like, it's the talk of the town here for this one.
So you said there's there's lemon custard with lemon curd, lemon curd.
Yeah, so it's it's lemon sugar cream cheese.
I can get a piece of it.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh my gosh, it's like lemon pudding in my mouth.
Yeah.
Which is, do you think it would be overly sweet, but it's perfect?
Yeah, it's a perfect balance.
Awesome.
Everything looks delicious and it smells delicious.
And I'm really excited to have you here in the South Bay community.
But you guys have been here a while, and so it's really great to have this experience.
It's been a nice welcome from everyone in the community, and we're super excited and proud to be here.
Awesome.
Well, thank you so much, Mike and I look forward to eating all of this now.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I'm so excited to be here at Beardless Earth.
I may.
Oh my goodness, I love coming here.
Come here so many times, especially on Wednesday nights when there's live music and so excited to be here and try this amazing, authentic Irish food today.
This is bacon and cabbage, OK?
And their bacon is actually it's that bacon pork and it's salt cured.
It's not smoked or any of the fancy spices like corned beef have.
And then what is this?
This one?
I had to bring this out because it's so popular here.
This is our shepherd's pie, and traditionally it's made with lamb, and then it's covered with mashed potatoes.
You can add some cheese to melt over the top.
But this is our second best seller on the menu.
All right.
Well, thank you so much, Carol.
This is really enjoyable, and I just love being having puzzlers here in the community, and it really is something we love in its home.
Yes, it is so much.
So not only is this smelling delicious, but this is just artwork.
It's beautiful.
We really look at the food as an extension of the rest of the room.
It's art.
It's, you know, we want it to look beautiful, taste amazing.
And you know, when it when it comes to the table, you know, this is what I want them to see.
So it's gorgeous.
So tell us everything that we have here.
I'm so overwhelmed because I just want to eat it all right now.
So I'll just give you a nice little quick tour of what we have out here.
Over here, we have our steak frites along with it's our fingerling potatoes.
I I've heard a lot about it.
I know I didn't want to do french fries.
I won't do something a little different.
So fingerling potatoes are, as I think of him as potato wedges, they're delicious.
But with that as well, we have our mixed vegetables with new ski's bacon gives you a nice smoked, delicious flavor.
And along the top of that, what we have is our peppercorn Hennessy sauce, which is amazing.
It's it's a crowd favorite.
People order it on the side for other entrees as well, so it kind of moving along from that.
We have our salmon with a wonderful tomato garlic glaze over the top with mushroom risotto.
Not go wrong there.
All right.
Kind of moving through the middle, one of my favorite salads as the apples, blue cheese, strawberries and comes with nice poppy dressing nice and fresh.
This is fresh, especially through the spring.
It's going to be a crowd favorite.
Definitely.
It's it's one of my favorites.
And over here on this, we have our Jack Daniel's Tennessee glazed whiskey French pork chop.
So it's a mouthful, but anything with Jack Daniel's on it, your body is pretty much a shoo in.
Yeah, we have what we have.
Along with that is our like momma's mac and cheese, which is just delicious, homemade, homemade.
It's it's great again with the mixed vegetables in this case, bacon.
And then over here we have a nice airline chicken breast and on that is so good.
So on this one, it has our has our barbecue sauce, which is like a halal pino and corn barbecue sauce.
A little bit of garlic, mashed potatoes.
Okay, but really, instead of just eating, we have to think about the drinks as well.
And these are also artwork.
They're beautiful and tasty, so it's like a win win win.
So over here we have our jolly rancher is amazing, little tart like you would think, but you know, sweet and tart tick to paradise.
And one thing about that is just nice and beautiful tropical and flavor like that.
I mean, even layer after layers of colors on the ice, it's it's great little bit of sour candy on top, so you can't go wrong there.
And for the bourbon lovers, which I happen to be one, that's our Elijah and the giant peach.
So peach peaches Elijah Craig bourbon.
But we'll thank you for creating with me today.
It was great to be here and so glad to have you in the community here in Ireland.
Wonderful.
Wonderful to be here.
Thank you so much.
Oh my goodness, you rock this and my rock.
I'm like all in the mood now.
Wow.
Oh, your timer just finished.
Which means it's time to pour your teeth into that.
Would that work me?
Oh, thank you.
Oh, OK, so you put your strainer on top of your cup and then you pour through it and it catches the tea leaves?
I need you a hot cinnamon spiced tea this morning.
Nice.
And it enjoys it.
If you add a little bit of milk and sugar.
Absolutely.
This is delicious.
I'm glad you enjoy is so good and it's one of our more popular.
You're kind of transporting me, Laura, to a much better place right now.
That's wonderful.
That is the whole goal.
It just be apart a little bit to do something different than your every day.
So nice to know that you can still enjoy some tea and visit Apotheker teas, infusions and frivolity.
And you know what?
You're going to be leaving not just with tea, but definitely a smile on your face and possibly a new friend.
Thanks, Laura.
Thank you so much.
This is just a fantastic space.
Well, thank you.
I think we've decided with local you know what it should be.
We want it to be a place, a real public house where people come together from the.
Absolutely, and for people who want to come, you said there's breakfast, lunch and dinner and and a desserts too.
Right?
Obviously, you might want to go downtown to the chocolate cafe.
I will make a stop there, too.
So I'm going to.
Can you hook me up with one of those hamburgers?
I can.
I would love that.
All right.
Thanks.
Thank you.
one of the cool things that they have here at the Howard Park public house is all of their bird burgers are upside down, so the actual top of the bun is on the bottom and all of the buns are made here at the restaurant.
So it's a nice bakery for you too.
So.
Oh wow.
This is a very large burger, but it has a beautiful olive tapenade and it has gorgonzola cheese on it, which is one of my favorites too.
And look at that.
There's the Upside-Down Burger, there's the top of it, and I'm going to dove in.
Oh, that's really good.
That's delicious.
And there are meats are made right here.
They grind them up every morning, so I'm going to keep on eating some more.
one of the amazing things about this experience is that we're in nature.
Just take the opportunity to experience nature and so close your eyes and take those.
Moments to connect.
We'll take a deep breath and together.
He could sit up tall, bring your hands behind your knees, and you're just kind of like you're marching with one foot .
And then the other.
Left one foot and then the other.
Now, again, tapping into that strength, if you're feeling it both feet left.
And this is called Photoshop, so it's perfect for being on the water you.
Try reaching your fingers up to the sky.
Inhale, drop the belly, lift the chest, exhale, rounded up her back, so if you're seated yoga in bar floating on the water.
This gives you the opportunity to get some different vantage points.
Hey, you lived.
And so how did we do?
Well, you both did amazing, and that's the thing about yoga is that it's an individual practice.
So we come together as a community to do our practice, but you keep your attention on your space and what works individually and best for you.
That's how I don't know if people can hear you, but you are really talking about being grounded and that we're powerful women.
Oh yes.
So one of the things that we like to bring in as a reminder is right.
It's just like an affirmation.
We call it mantra and yoga.
So if you want to, we can share our affirmation that we were working on which I am a warrior goddess.
I.
What is your.
You guys did an amazing job, thank you so much for coming to play with me on the river.
Well, you also do yoga training.
I do.
I actually teach people how to teach this practice.
Oh, great.
So throughout the year, we do a variety of teacher trainings and we have one that's starting in October, which is an advanced training and stand up.
Malabar Yoga can be included in that.
Yeah, we're quite ready for it to become a teacher.
But you know, I think we're kind of mastering the participants.
You never know.
You never know.
Want to shuffle, step, turn.
Front side, Triple Frontier side trip will stop kick stop the triple vine triple fine with the turn triple walk, triple step turn triple side.
Front side stop quick trip on the stump kick triple vying to.
Walk, walk, triple step, turn, triple side, triple threat, the sight of triple.
Fine walk, walk, triple step, turn, triple side, triple front side, triple step, true triple front side, triple threat, triple threat kick.
Stay.
Well, there's a lot of fun.
Yes.
Oh my goodness, ladies, thank you so much.
And Elaine, thank you again for looking so much fun today.
I think we'll get in touch with you.
Well, you can use my email.
That is fine.
04 e m, d ul and y at Gmail dot com.
Or you can give me a friend request on Facebook, and I go out and ask my friends, Hey, this band's playing.
I know most of the songs that they play, so I have the dances already to go when they play the music.
So to find out more, you can also also go on to experience piano dot org.
Follow Elaine's dancing team.
Yeah, basically what we do, we start out the class with a little warm up.
Warm up could be anything from, you know, stretches to a twisting movement to jump rope.
And we did a little jump roping and running up and down the neighborhood just to warm up.
Then when everybody gets into class and feel a little tired, yeah, OK, then that's when the class started last.
That's when you can start.
We get the gloves on.
We throw a few punches.
We run a few more laughs.
We do jumping jacks and you know, we just we just smile and we die.
I love that because that's what I kind of like here.
But you know what happens, though?
You leave the class like, this is what happened me because I've been coming for a couple of weeks.
You leave the class and I feel like taller.
I feel more proud.
I feel good, like just wearing T-shirts outside, you know, all those self-conscious things.
This class, like it pushes you out of that because I'm not just saying this that makes you believe in yourself, not just your body, and you're right about the camaraderie.
I feel like I feel like I got a bunch of brothers.
The second I moved in here, which I love.
So now I'm going to take you over a few things that we do day here center stage.
All right, guys, they are here with you.
So we all know how the whole the whole class is based off the six punches and six steps.
We just going to go over the six punches, OK?
This is a left straight call.
That a jab?
OK.
Right cross.
Left hook.
Right uppercut, left uppercut.
Oh, right hook.
Well, six punches.
6123456 by wing.
Piece of cake.
Yeah, that's how we get down.
That's how we get down.
If somebody say cake.
But what I really love about what I experience here today is the camaraderie and the relationships that the minute I walked in, I could see that these relationships really mattered in each other's lives and that they brought me in.
I was only here, not even 30 seconds.
Like, come on in.
And and that's what I love, because really, that's what community is.
It's all about the relationships that we you know what it makes.
You want to keep turning up every day because you're not turning up to work out, you're turning up for your brothers and sisters that are here.
And then it's a community.
I'm telling you it's the best ever.
Yeah, I felt it, Dave.
I felt it day.
Thank you so much for inviting me.
I had a great time.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks.
Thank you so much.
one to three.
Take your pick and just lean back.
Kind of like you're swinging on a swing.
Lean, lean back.
Turn to let your arms totally straighten.
Wow.
So you can engage the core here.
Keeping your glutes engaged so that we don't slide off.
And then if you were to release one hand, your hammock is going to turn.
So try not to let that startle you.
And let's see if we can release the right.
Oh my gosh.
Oh.
Oh, once you are ready.
Go ahead and sit up, and that's going to let your corps take a little break and then we'll do it for the other side, so hold on.
You're like Temple.
Temple height.
As you lean back, you don't want you to slide your hand down at all, straighten your arms completely.
So that'll be a little bit easier.
And then let's see if we could really hit the left here.
OK. Well, I don't trust my arm here to would tell everybody this is a worked out already.
I mean, did you find that in your triceps anyway?
Oh yeah.
I'm holding my body up.
I felt the reach in your right arm toward the floor.
Watch them turn on to your right.
OK, yeah.
Oh my gosh.
And then you're going to pick your feet toward the window and lift up your don't scream.
Come more further.
My body was the man to me.
Ness left your hips up.
So you're so you're going to feel yourself hanging from your toes.
Go a little further, Ali, who april.
Can.
Can any can people at any level do this?
I really do.
Hello and welcome people of all fitness levels.
That's wonderful.
Well, thank you so much for helping us with our fitness journey.
How do you feel?
I feel like, you know, we did about seven minutes and I feel like I could.
Definitely.
I'd love to try it again, honestly, and do a full class because yeah, it's there's nothing better than getting in shape while having fun , because that makes you want to keep doing yoga.
So many things to explore, to air, to stay active in Michigan, so you get that full gamut here.
I certainly loved all of those experience.
Again, the paddleboard yoga was one of my favorites, but I really loved create, bar and grill.
They had such unique options to eat, and it was just art everywhere in the food, in the decor.
It was everywhere.
And I loved that kind of stuff, too.
This really has been a showcase over the last two weeks of there is so much to experience in Michigan, and we're just scratching the surface in the things that we're able to get out.
And so we really need your help in this year.
And if you have ideas of some really cool places, especially those locally owned places that we can get out and showcase for this next coming year.
We'd love to hear from you.
You can visit us on Facebook or email us at Experience Michigan at W dot org.
And we'd love to have an idea of some of the other cool things that we can get out and do this year.
And guys, thank you so much for joining us.
I kind of feel that we've been talking about all of these experiences.
We need another slogan this year.
I think this year the slogan should be lots to do in 2022.
I thought you did everyone, so be sure to tune in next week.
We look forward to seeing you then.
Lots to do.
