Get my shoes on at the door.
I'm Lapchick.
seven They feel great.
I'm gonna shine after I do it, I'm gonna do it.
But do they get a look at this guy with the beautiful color about the weather?
Just for me to not share it with another?
I got to show to give that out.
Singing show, I'll take a look at a beautiful for That's Earth, your beautiful.
The to make beautiful life.
And if you want to see that come along with me, that's right.
Welcome to experience Miss Gianna.
We're so glad that you're joining us and we have a special show for you today and we have for the first time in a while all three of you guys that host us together.
Kelly, welcome.
Thanks for joining me.
We did things a little bit different and we're going to talk about what's in the show here in just a minute.
But guys, first of all, and Kelly, let's start with you.
What's what's your favorite thing about this time of year as we head into the holiday season?
I is my favorite thing is family and friends coming together.
And then the other part is family and friends coming together around music.
I mean, we all pull out our instruments and the boys are no voice.
Everybody sings together.
And I mean, we can literally do that until about two or 3:00 in the morning on Thanksgiving.
So that's one of the things that I absolutely love about this time of year Dave, how about you?
You know, I moved to the US seven years ago, and although I really miss my family this time of the year, especially , I also save an absolute fortune because my Christmas present list is so short now that I live in a different country.
So that's also one of my favorite things.
But now I just love the food.
I love the fact that in the summertime, Kelly's always freezing, so she wears about 20 layers all year round.
I love the fact that it's finally cold enough that I can start growing up.
I just love the clothes of this time of year as well.
So yeah, it's just I don't know what it is.
It's a cozy time of the year.
It sure is, that's for sure.
Courtney, how about you?
Oh, I can agree with all of that.
I mean, I think another segment of that is the community when the community comes together at this time of year two.
I know I am very deep in my Christmas decorating I only have one more tree to go.
I have 64 trees out so far, but I get a lot of help along the way too.
So really, you know, just going back to that, bringing the family and friends together, we have a lot of kids, we have grandkids and just being able to spend that time with each other, whether or not we're eating or gift giving, whatever that might look like, just spending that time together is really so important for our family.
Now, if you do make Courtney love the background, so you I love the decorations, there is a lot more in this room.
I'm looking at like six trees from this vantage point.
You think she's kidding about a 16 for Christmas tree?
No, no, she's not.
And maybe in a later show, we'll visit Courtney's house and give you guys a glimpse into what that looks like.
Yeah.
Today's today's show is just a little different.
We're trying to highlight as many things because there's so much going on in this area.
And so we're going to try to highlight as many of them as we can.
And in order to do that, we're going to Zoom this week.
And so, guys, what's in this week's show day?
Watch what's your segment?
We're literally zooming around Michigan today.
This is an event that's been going on for 49 years, which I hadn't actually heard of before, and I think I'm going to be excited to go along , Kelly.
I believe you have your tickets for this event.
Oh, my goodness, had my tickets as soon as I could get them.
This is such a wonderful event.
You are going, you guys are going to love it.
Saint Mary's Magic Dinner.
Amazing.
And I. I mean, I think I want to go and I want to go because I love all that period stuff.
And my wife loves all those TV shows.
But I spoke to Nancy this week from Saint Mary's to find out about this event.
And Courtney, you headed down to Bremen for or talked virtually to someone for Bremen.
What's going on there?
You know, similarly, the Bremen Holy Loch has been going on for 41 years and this is an amazing event that they put on.
It really gets you in the start of that Christmas spirit, taking you through the time of when Jesus was born.
And I really think that's the whole spirit of Christmas itself.
And so being able to to be a part of that, I know thousands of people are planning to go.
So we're going to get you all that information about how you can take part in this year's Holy Walk and carry our friends.
The Burgman are having a special concert and you got a chance to talk to them.
Yes, we did, and we had their music on our show last year.
Their holiday music, and it is so fabulous.
And this year they're going to be at the ACORN Theater and it's called a South Shore Christmas, and we can't wait to hear about it.
I mean, Cody had mentioned the community just a little bit ago, and you know that the of the mod is really like the musical dynamic duo of this community So we're really looking forward to that.
They sure are.
And Courtney, you had a chance to talk about an upcoming market.
It's changing locations, but it's been around for, I think, six years now.
Tell us a little bit about that.
You know, one of the great things again, we were talking about gift giving and it's a wonderful market is my kind of style.
They have vintage and handmade goods.
That's the kind of style that I like to shop at those one of a kind unique gifts that you can find only in one place.
And so we're going to be checking that out is a wonderful market that's going to be happening this year in a new location.
Big, big thing going on here.
We're tell you all about that.
OK, so let's get this show started and we're going to do that with you, Kelly.
We're talking, stepping back in time.
Where are we headed?
Yes, we are well, Courtney said.
It's a wonderful market and that's great.
But there's nothing like an old fashioned Christmas.
We're headed to Syracuse, Indiana.
They've been doing this for a number of years.
Last year, they had to cancel it because of the pandemic, but this year it is on.
They have frosty.
They have Santa, they have like reindeer, they have a live nativity.
But I got to tell you, you've got to beware because they always they also have the Grinch who is there.
I don't know about you, but when it comes to this time of year, I love it so much.
But I just wish it was Christmas Day already.
And you know, I don't have any red shoes, so I can't click my heels.
But I do have red gloves, and maybe this will work.
I wish it were Christmas.
I wish it were Christmas.
I wish for Christmas.
I use.
I wish it were Christmas.
I wish I. Oh, my God.
Why just Christmas Day, sir?
Oh my goodness, I am so glad to be out so many of you this year.
This is wonderful.
And why Father Christmas now?
Dickens.
Dickens.
What kind of Dickens character?
Yes.
Yes.
All right.
Well, well, you know, speaking of Christmas, there's nothing better than an old fashioned Christmas.
And I believe that's going to be happening right here in Syracuse, right here in Oakwood Resort.
This is the third year that we're having this, although the second year got canceled.
But this is going to be the best yet, the best year ever.
And there's a lot happening this year.
There really is.
And we're going to have live reindeer.
We're going to have live nativity.
We've got the reading of the Bible Christmas story in the chapel, and it really is going to be great.
It's a family event that the whole family should come out for joy.
And speaking of family, there's even a photo booth this year.
There is that Mary Todd.
Oh, go ahead, Mary.
Tell me about it.
There will be a photo booth where you can get your picture taken with Santa Claus down around in part of the village and where we're standing now, we have the chapel behind us.
That, Mark said, is where we read the biblical story of Christmas.
And it's a very reverent kind of time and you'll want to spend some time there and then go down to the old fashioned village, right?
And then I also hear there's a live nativity.
Yes, in the live nativity is on the way to the chapel.
You'll go past both as you're going by now that you do carolers.
No, no, no.
Carol, it's OK. OK, tell me how you want to make sure you are OK if I'm just one of the help with the organizers.
But some of those started originally at 6:00 in front of the Oakwood Resort.
We'll have Carolyn from the High School Choir.
The high school band will be playing and then at 6:15, we'll do the countdown to light the large spruce tree that has thousands of lights on it.
Wow.
And that is an exciting time.
And at the same time, though, the walkways will all be lit up and some of the trees here in the hole or the grounds and people can enter.
And here are the carolers.
They can go over and see the live reindeer they could do sleigh ride.
That's great.
Also, the photo booth we mentioned, there's cookies.
There's hot chocolate.
Yes, there's fire pits and s'mores are going to be made there as well.
We also have multiple groups saying it's going to be a really enjoyable, as they mentioned, there's a live or nativity activity, right?
And then coming up here to the chapel and forgot to mention everything is free.
That is, there is no cost of parking there, no cause.
The hand turns the hot chocolate cookies.
Everything is free, so bring the whole family out.
Grandpa, grandma, mom and dad and all the kids.
And I think everybody's really excited about this this year because last year there was so many things canceled for Christmas, and not that it took away the Christmas spirit.
But part of the Christmas spirit is people coming together and families coming together to just enjoy, you know what the holidays are all about?
Exactly, exactly.
So looking forward to everybody coming out, as I said, it's free.
So bring the whole family and you have the whole family here, just about here.
We have somebody else.
Can you do a little buddy, the elf kind of thing?
All right.
That's a great buddy.
They help.
And then, of course, we have frosty, hi, frosty.
And then the gingerbread man.
Right?
Yeah, there you go.
Don't worry, we won't try to break your party or anything, and then I'll have another frosty here.
That's why now I heard you have a someone else this year, and I'm kind of scared just a little bit because I hear it could be.
It could be come.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Really?
What is scary?
No, I mean, what a scare you invited them.
I mean, I guess The Grinch.
Oh, oh my gosh.
What are you doing here?
Oh.
Oh, my goodness.
Well, you know what?
I guess even the Grinch needs a little Christmas spirit.
And maybe his heart will grow by coming to the old fashioned Christmas here.
Oh, you know what?
I like you now.
You know he needs a little Christmas spirit.
And you know what?
Doesn't everybody?
So again, this is happening on November 27.
It's a Saturday.
It's starting 6:00 p.m. and there's going to be so many wonderful events to get you and your family and the Christmas spirit just like The Grinch.
I am joined right now by Nancy, who is on to talk about a very classic Christmas, the magical dinner theater.
Nancy, tell me a little bit about this and what is it for anybody watching who has no idea what this might be?
Well, this is the 49th annual Madrigal dinner at St Mary's College, and it's really sort of a recreation of a Renaissance era feast in England with what you might expect if you went to a a castle where the Lord of the Manor was hosting his guests and providing entertainment and wonderful food for them.
What is it about that era that still excites people in 2021?
Oh, I think it's mainly I think it's the beautiful costumes we wear the most beautiful Elizabethan period costumes.
The music is elegant.
It's all Christmas music.
Every piece that we sing is Christmas related, very tuneful music, some old old carols and old English pieces, and some from French and France and Spain as well that people would recognize that recognize the tunes.
And we also have period dancers, period dances danced by our college students renaissance in the Renaissance style that are beautiful.
We have an instrumental group every quarter.
Players that play period music.
We have a juggler and we have a troop of actors that are acting out an original play written by one of our faculty members, Susan Baxter.
And so it's a full evening of our entertainment plus good food as well.
So that sounds like a lot of fun.
And for anybody watching right now on night, are they welcome to attend?
Is it open to the public?
Yes, it's open to the public.
We are selling tickets now.
There are $50 for adults and 20 toys for children menus.
And people can find tickets by calling our St Mary's box office.
The phone number is 5742844625, or they can go online to Saint Mary's Dot Edu slash events and purchased in that way.
Due to COVID, we have we're selling fewer tickets than usual to allow for some social distancing, and so we're only having 96 guests per night performance.
And so let me tell you when the performances are coming on December third and fourth, which is a Friday and Saturday night beginning at 7:00 and on Sunday, December fifth, it's a matinee performance at 2:00 And for those people, especially who have been to the Madrigal tent before, we are in a new venue this year, our former venue has been taken over by our nursing department and health sciences.
It's a beautiful facility now.
You wouldn't recognize it, but our place where we perform the medical dinners is gone.
So for those who attended before, it's just on the other side of the parking lot in the St Mary's College Student Center in a room called Rice Commons, and it should work well in there as well.
It really does sound like a lot of fire, and I'm not sure why, but going back in time is always such a beautiful thing to do.
Just to see how simple, but also awesome at times were back then as well, right?
It really puts you in the Christmas spirit every year.
That's why we have so many people who return from year to year.
We watch their children grow up over the years attending the medical dinner.
All right.
Well, Nancy, thank you so much for joining us on experience Moceanu, and good luck.
Thank you.
Well, we've been talking about getting ready for the holiday season, and while this is the best way to do it, we're starting with the Raymond Holy Walk and this is coming up soon and I'm so excited to have Mary with us.
He was one of the co-directors.
Hi, Mary, thanks for joining us.
Hi, thank you so much for having us.
We appreciate your support.
What's special about this work is the guests are asked to participate.
They're just not observers.
Oh, that's amazing.
There are participants there and the groups are put into family groups and their guide is the leader of the family, usually their father or mother or grandparent.
And they're given a family name and a job that they did and that they are a part of the family of Judea and they are traveling to Bethlehem to be counted and to pay their taxes, also just right along with Mary and Joseph.
It's always this the story of Jesus's birth, which I feel like really gets you.
That is the reason for the season.
That's what we're here to celebrate, too.
And so that's what's so great about having this event and it is coming up soon.
When is the event taking place on Friday and Saturday night of December third and fourth?
The doors open at five, but our first tour family going through starts at six and the doors do close at the high school at nine.
But if you're inside the high school, we we keep going until everyone has gone through the lock.
That's amazing.
Is there a cost to to take part in it?
No, but we do ask for free, well, donations just to cover our expenses.
And I know people can.
It's a long wait sometimes, and so people can bring their own food and things like that.
Maybe board game something to keep them entertained for the wait, which might be an hour or two while they're waiting to to do the walk right in our registration table has lots of materials, raw materials and games for kids to play.
And just wildly, wait.
And this year, we added a new component of doing reservations to help cut down that wait time in the gym because I know people, families with small children, that's a little hard to sit and wait for a couple hours, and then the walk itself takes one hour.
OK, that's good to know.
So planned out your evening.
Dedicated?
No, once you're going to be doing and what an amazing event.
I'm so grateful that you guys have been doing this for so many years that I know it takes a lot of volunteers to make it happen to.
You guys are good for volunteers this year, but if somebody wants to help out, next year will be another great opportunity for them.
Well, we do need 250 costumed helpers, so and we're still looking for help.
You know, this is a different time, and last year we weren't able to put it on.
We did it through Facebook with an old video.
So we still do need volunteers.
But I know God's going to provide, so we're not worried about it.
And so, yeah, they saw the opportunity to volunteer as they would like.
That's great.
And how can people get more information about the event or to volunteer or to even support it?
Our website has everything you need, and that's something new to.
This is our second year with their website and it is just brimming.
Holy Whatcom, OK, and people can get their reservations there.
They can get everything, all the information that they need.
But this is coming out that first weekend of December.
What a great way to start the holiday season restaurants where they can eat just background information, history pictures.
It really has a lot of information and that's really helpful.
Wonderful.
Well, thank you so much, Mary.
I'm really excited for you guys to put this event on this year in person, since you weren't able to do it last year, so.
Best of luck.
Best of luck with everything.
I would like to just share the purpose.
And lastly, it says the Breman community is a commitment to share the joy of Jesus birth, the peace of knowing him and the promise of eternal life through the enactment of the Holy Night Events.
And we just welcome everyone to come and just experience what it might have been like 2000 years ago coming up him.
Wonderful.
Thank you so much, Mary.
Appreciate it.
Well, thank you for having me.
Take care.
God bless.
The other day, I was thinking we could not let the year go by on experience Moceanu without speaking with the Bergamo, thinking he just a few days ago and here you guys are so glad to have you with us.
We're so glad to be with you and it has been a great year.
We have been busy, busy bodies between L.A. working on a new documentary with our editor and a brand new record, and it's brought its own peaks and valleys as everybody's gone through some interesting things in 2021.
But we're excited to wrap the year out with a great Christmas concert.
They're so excited about this.
It'll be the first time that we're stepping on the stage since 2019 in person, so it's a very special event.
It's at the ACORN Theater in three Oaks, Michigan, where indie performing our favorite Christmas songs, Christmas classics and original works with our full band.
So we're going to have our drummer, our bass player saxophone as it's going to be super, super special.
Tickets are $40 and there's some really good safety measures put in place by the theater as well.
Oh, that's great.
Well, we just want to say that we are grateful for both of you, not just in our community, but in our country.
Your music is inspiring and it really speaks hope, and it really speaks of better things to come.
And you can feel that through your music, and that's something that not everybody can do.
So thank you so much for your gifts and sharing your gifts with your community and our nation.
And we are so grateful for you and we can't wait to connect with you again and again.
It's a South Shore Christmas.
I will be there with my Christmas bells on and more information about that concert.
You can find us on experience Moceanu dot org.
Bye, guys.
Sign on God while continuing now with that holiday spirit, one of my favorite things to do, of course, this holiday season is to shop You can do that and it's a wonderful market which is returning to an in-person event this year I have with us Jessica, who is one of the directors for the event Jessica.
Hello there.
Thanks for having me.
I'm so excited.
You guys are able to put this event on this year.
I know last year you were able to do it in person, but you've been doing it for a number of years now.
Yes, this will be our sixth annual market.
Last year, we switched to a virtual format where folks could shop online with our different vendors.
But we're so excited to be back in-person, to meet those shoppers and interact with our vendors again, our wonderful vendors, as we call them, so very exciting.
And this is a large event and so a large bed requires a large space You guys are moving the location.
You've been in Napa for a while, but tell us where you're going to be at this year.
This is exciting.
That's right.
We're going to the huge Southgate barn.
Some people know it as the Farmer's Market Barn in Elkhart, southside of Elkhart.
So it's just off of State Road 19 on County Road.
26, you can't miss it.
We're really excited to be in that beautiful big building.
It's an Amish built post and beam barn, and it's just it's going to be gorgeous.
It's going to be a beautiful backdrop against all of our vendors.
OK, that's great.
And are they all local artists?
They are very.
I think the farthest one that I know of comes from Crown Point, our candle maker.
But that's about as far as we go.
They're quite close.
And how many vendors are you guys expecting this year?
We'll have around 40.
That's amazing, what a big event that's going to be for you guys.
And we're excited about it, come out and enjoy all of the festivities there, get a look at how Southgate is reinventing themselves.
They have a similar mission as we do handcrafted local.
So it'll be a great time to get a sneak peek of that and find some new makers and dealers to choose from.
That's great.
When is your event taking place, right?
It'll be December third and fourth.
It's a two day event.
Friday night we start at five to nine, so it's kind of an evening special event.
And then Saturday is 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. OK, and is there a cost to get into the event itself?
Yes.
$3 admission for anybody 18 and over those under 18 are free and a portion of our admission fee will be supporting a charity .
Oh, that's wonderful.
I love when you guys can do stuff like that to have awesome.
I know a day full of shopping usually means I need something to eat or drink to get through it all.
You guys going to have some concessions available too.
Yes, we are working on some hot food options.
We will have a person who has popcorn.
There will be several sweet treats, at least, but we are working on some food options still tweaking those details.
But we know that's important.
I know that me and protein to keep me going.
If you want to keep me shopping right?
It is a priority.
We will work that out as well.
I'm so excited for the event you have.
I know you guys have a lot of information on your Facebook page where you're sharing information about the local artisans that are coming.
What is your Facebook page?
How can people get in touch with you if they have more questions?
Yes.
W WW dot.
It's a wonderful market.
Dot com.
No apostrophe.
Of course, all lowercase.
It's a wonderful market on Facebook as well and Instagram.
So find us on all those outlets and we will keep you updated.
Awesome.
Thank you so much.
I'm so excited to have this event and, you know, coming back to in-person and moving over to South America, this is just going to be a huge event for you guys.
I'm really excited for it.
Thank you so much for having us.
We'll see you.
There are so many unique things to find it.
It's a wonderful market that is coming up, so be sure you a stop in there the first weekend of December.
So A.D. for anyone to miss the start of the show, how many Christmas trees did you say you have in your house?
I will have 65 this year.
I have 64 already and we're going to be chopping one more tree down this week.
Is this like the Christmas tree equivalent of a crazy cat lady?
Oh, you say that you call me the Christmas tree lady?
I don't think that.
I mean, that is that is one of the most unusual Christmas traditions that I've ever heard of.
I have to be on the 65 Christmas trees.
I do know quite a lot.
Yeah, quite a lot from Kourtney.
I love the crazy Christmas lady there.
OK. one of the traditions are really what make this season so wonderful.
And we're sure that you all have your special Christmas tradition, just special Thanksgiving traditions.
So let us know what they are.
We'd love to talk about it and feature them on the show.
So hit us up on Facebook, on Twitter, or you can also go on to experience Moceanu dot org.
We want to know what your family does to celebrate the holidays.
I actually want to Google to see how many trees are in the White House, and I wonder if Courtney's house has more trees than the White House.
How big is your house, by the way?
Have we upsized this past year?
So I have a lot more space to use and ironically, you see no trip, you see no trees and this year right now, so it's like secretly hiding around you.
So I want to just thank you guys for all the hard work that you've done this year.
one of my favorite things about this time of year is just how much we tend to as community look out for those in need and and we do that as a community, and that's the best way to help those that are in need.
And I want to thank you guys for helping to bring awareness to what is in our community all year long, but especially right now.
So you guys at home, if you have suggestions on ways that people are making a difference for others.
Also, let us know about that.
Use the hashtag Experience Machina on Facebook.
Well, guess what it'll be after Thanksgiving the next time I see you guys Thank you so much for being here and thanks to everybody at home and have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving experience.
