Also known as the Crow Moon, Sap moon, Sugar moon and more -- AND it s a Supermoon!
So many names, whew!
A full moon does hide dimmer sky objects though, and its not alone.
Light pollution can really mess with an astronomer s mojo.
Like all pollution, light pollution affects more than the source.
Luckily for us: tools exist to find DARK SKY PRESERVES!
These are often officially designated places to escape light and see the stars in all their glory.
Some states, especially those with major observatories, have laws to limit light pollution, which also saves energy!
Seeing a darkened sky is incredible.
Satellites are as bright as stars, planets pop right out, and the ribbon of the Milky Way?
Wow.
Heading to a dark sky site is a safe, physically distant road trip that I d recommend.
Five stars -- thousands actually!
Keep lookin up!
