Clip: Season 2 Episode 3 | 13m 7sVideo has Closed Captions

Guardians of the Forest was founded in 2012 in response to deforestation outbreaks.

A group of men in rural Brazil started Guardians of the Forest in 2012 in response to hundreds of deforestation outbreaks on Arariboia land. Since the area was designated as Indigenous territory in 1991, its residents say they have been harassed by invading loggers. Taking the role of law enforcement to protect the land, they take on the role of law enforcement in violent clashes with poachers.
