♪ - [Narrator] The wind gently blew as Autumn arrived in Albumin.
The cool chill of the air made Megg and Seggourney smile as they walked to school.
- My nose started to run with this chilly wind as I was coming to get you this morning Megg.
I don't mind though, because one of my favorite holidays is coming up.
Halloween!
- Do you think Miss Poach will let us have a Halloween party?
They're so much fun.
Remember when Reggie dressed up like an astronaut and his space helmet gave him a rash on his face?
(laughs) - [Narrator] The girls giggled the rest of the way to school.
Lunchtime came and they sat down to eat with Reggie and Greggory.
They wanted to ask them about having a Halloween party at school.
- Hey, you guys, Megg and I were wondering if you want to come with us to ask Ms. Poach if we can have a Halloween party.
- It's fine with me but I'm not going to be an astronaut again.
Remember my face rash?
(laughs) - [Narrator] The three o'clock bell rang and the eggs approached Ms. Poach to ask about the Halloween party.
- Well, what's all this excitement about?
- Ms. Poach, we came to ask if we could have a Halloween party.
- They all looked at Ms. Poach with hopeful faces as they awaited her answer.
- Why of course.
In fact, I was going to ask you if you wanted to help me with a few things.
- [Narrator] Megg excitedly answered.
- Oh, yes, yes!
We'll get started right away.
Thank you Ms. Poach.
- [Narrator] As the girls were working on their party ideas there was a knock at the door.
Seggourney opened the door to find Benedict standing there.
- I heard there was gonna be a Halloween party at school and you were in charge of it.
Can I help?
- Well, we're not really in charge.
We're just helping Ms. Poach with a few things.
See, here's our list of ideas so far.
- [Narrator] Benedict began to read the list.
- Treats, popcorn, candy corn, caramel corn, licorice, chips pretzels and apples.
Decorations, streamers, paper ghosts spooky music, flashing lights and dancing witches.
Invitations, Seggourney, Megg, Reggie, Greggory, and Ms. Poach.
What kind of party is this?
This sounds so dumb.
- [Narrator] Benedict threw the list and walked away angry.
- What's wrong with him?
- I don't know.
You know Benedict, he can be unpredictable.
- [Narrator] The day of the Halloween party arrived.
Seggourney brought some snacks and could not find them.
- Hey Megg, where did you put the bag with the snacks?
- [Megg] It was right next to Ms. Poach's desk.
- Well, it's not there now.
- [Narrator] Reggie and Greggory walked up to help.
- Let's go look outside.
Maybe you left them at the door.
- [Narrator] Reggie and Greggory looked outside and noticed something odd.
A flock of birds were hanging around the large metal garbage can near the playground.
They ran over to the garbage can and could not believe what they saw.
All of the snacks for the party had been opened and dumped right into the garbage can as the birds had their feast.
Then they noticed Benedict running away.
They caught up to him, but not before he tripped and fell.
- Why are you running from us Benedict?
- Nevermind, just go back to your dumb party.
- Benedict squirmed and Reggie and Greggory noticed a big bag of pretzels that fell from his coat.
- Benedict, did you take the snacks from the party and throw them away?
I don't understand.
And you kept this bag of pretzels for yourself?
- You need to tell Megg and Seggourney right now.
Let's go.
- No way.
You don't deserve any snacks.
I'm hurt because you didn't invite me to the party.
I saw the list and my name wasn't on it.
- Reggie and Greggory exchanged a confused look.
- Let's get to the bottom of this.
- The boys walked back into the school and began to explain to Megg and Seggourney what happened with the snacks.
- You see, Megg, we need to clear this up.
Benedict thinks he was left off the list so he took the snacks out of anger.
- Everyone in class was invited, including Benedict.
See, we would never leave anyone off.
When you came over that day, we were just beginning to plan.
He did not see the complete list.
He jumped to a conclusion that was not true and ruined our party.
- [Narrator] Megg handed Benedict the list.
He looked at it and saw his name along with his other classmates.
He knew he had made a very big mistake.
A few tears even fell down his cheeks.
- Megg, Seggourney, I'm sorry I ruined the party.
Sometimes I do things without thinking or knowing all the facts, and it gets me into trouble.
I promise to try and do better.
Can you forgive me?
- [Narrator] Megg and Seggourney paused and then then began to feel sorry for Benedict.
- Benedict.
It wasn't okay to take the party snacks but we do appreciate your apology and we do forgive you.
Please don't ever think we would exclude you from anything.
That's not the kind of eggs we are.
We're your friends.
- [Narrator] The eggs all reassured Benedict of their friendship just as Miss Poach walked up.
- Listen up everyone.
I just ordered pizza and it'll be here in 30 minutes.
(cheering) - [Narrator] The pizza was enjoyed by all, and at the end of the party the egg stayed to help clean up the classroom.
- You know Megg.
Even though, our snacks were ruined, it was a great party.
We had a lot of fun.
- We sure did, and I think next year when we look back on this it might be even funnier than Reggie's face rash.
(laughs) - [Narrator] Thanks for watching and thanks for being a good egg!
(upbeat music)
