They actually have to put their necks back and swallow the water that way.

- So this is one example of a really nice chicken coop that we have here.

- A lot of hay.

Straw, a lot of straw.

- Yes.

The straw actually keeps the egg from cracking when the chicken lays it.

- El pasto protege los huevos y también ayuda a mantener el gallinero más caliente durante el invierno.

- Pues allá con Caroline vi que muchos de los pollos tienen que tener diferentes cosas, y una cosa que vi era muchos perches.

Caroline nos dijo que le gustan estar elevados cuando están descansando o durmiendo.

Y eso les ayuda para los predadores, que no se puedan agarrarlos.

- And then those that can't flight that high, we have a ladder right here, and they love just perching on on an old ladder.
