- Hi, my name is Caroline.
- Hi.
- Chickens drink differently than we do.
They can't take a gulp... and just suck the water in.
They actually have to put their necks back and swallow the water that way.
- So this is one example of a really nice chicken coop that we have here.
- Los gallineros todos eran diferentes, como... Había unos de cuatro temporadas y tres temporadas... - These openings right here are the nest boxes, and, what do you see in all of the boxes there?
- A lot of hay.
- Yes.
Straw, a lot of straw.
- Yes.
The straw actually keeps the egg from cracking when the chicken lays it.
- And then those that can't flight that high, we have a ladder right here, and they love just perching on on an old ladder.
