Interactive television for kids and families.
Hey, what do you say?
Are you ready to make our show today?
Hey.
Great.
Yes.
What's on our show today?
We are puppets.
We have people.
We have places.
We have fun.
We have stories.
We are dancing.
We got games.
We got you.
Hey, take it away.
Hey, how you doing, everybody?
How you doing, Ray?
I'm doing great.
I love spoons.
I don't tell spoons are awesome.
I'm Robert, by the way.
And, hey, we're so excited that you're here to play with us today.
It's our show today.
Welcome to food.
Okay, so here's what we like to do.
We like to get things started by finding out a little bit about all of us who are here together.
So we ask you a couple of questions.
Today we asked yo did you play outside this week?
Yeah.
You did.
Yeah.
By the way, spoons.
I think we've had those for a long time, but, Yeah I was out of running in circles.
That was just like, woo woo.
You should shoot.
That sounds like fun.
Yeah.
You know I spent most of my time outside, so, you know, to say.
Yeah, I played outside.
That's really not a big deal for me.
I usually play outside.
It's actually.
It's very rare occasion that I play inside.
Yeah.
Does your family ever say, like, get inside and play?
No.
Oh, I. Don't have that problem.
Okay.
All right.
But, hey, we also asked you, what's your favorite primary color?
Yellow.
Yeah, that'll be yellow, red and blue.
Right.
This yellow looks nice right now.
I'm looking around.
Right.
We got a nice little yellow border.
That looks nice.
But I think I'm going to go red.
I like red.
Okay.
All right, so we asked you about those questions.
Now we're going to find out.
What did you guys say?
Yeah.
So, you know, we find out about each other.
This is our viewers today.
Fun fact.
So we asked you both those questions, and here's how you answered.
71% of viewers who played outside this week say that red is their favorite color.
Thank you.
Wow.
That was a popular one.
Red.
So.
You know, it's a fun color.
I think it's very bright.
It's very exciting.
It's very red.
You see?
Redness.
How exciting.
Oh, yeah.
So I think people like the danger of it all.
Well thanks for playing with us fans.
Okay, so now that we know that about each other, I can tell this is going to be a great show, right?
If 71% of you who played outside say that red is your favorite color.
Yeah.
Come on.
This sho can't get any better than that.
How could we have asked for better?
Well, if it was yellow.
Well, no.
It's okay.
There's no included in there.
They're just that one stat.
Yeah.
That's true.
That's true.
Why don't we play a game?
I'm going to actuall go play inside for a little bit.
Okay.
Can I get you out?
Can you take over?
Yeah.
You got to go.
I'm not ready for a game.
It's three letters today.
What?
Three letter words?
Can you think of?
Yeah.
You got to just type of in.
You've been given a color.
Yeah.
So we know that you love red.
It looks like yellow is in the lead.
Oh, no.
It's green.
Fake it over green.
Go!
Green.
Go!
Green.
Red.
Ketchup.
Not.
Yes!
Oh, man.
Not.
Yes.
It's not.
Yes.
Mean?
Yes.
I'm not sure.
Come on.
Blue.
Come on.
Blue.
I'm up.
Yeah.
I'm up.
You know, sometimes when I gotta go inside, I got a mop.
The floor.
Yeah.
My cat.
Sometimes two is like.
What about me?
You never let me mop the floor.
And then I'm like, come on you can have the floor any day.
You can sit for as long as you set out the dishes and say, wow, the rat in the cat.
Hey, that was rhymed.
Maybe there should be bonus points for doing that work.
That rhyme.
No pressure, but just saying hog.
See?
Oh, man.
Green.
Green is just like you've.
Come on.
Blue.
I believe in you.
That's right.
Blue.
I surely do.
I believe in you.
I see your song.
Yeah.
Darn.
Oh, God.
You did.
You're on the blue team.
Come on.
Dad!
Come on.
Dad!
Okay, I think green maybe green paused.
Maybe Green's like, hey, guys, come on, join the fun.
Okay, frog, that's got three letters.
Cat, that's got three letters, Man oh, man.
I think Green's green one.
Taking a little break to say here you.
Oh, that's like from.
I showed you guys.
That was green.
Did it?
Good job everybody.
Yeah yeah yeah.
Hi, story.
Hey.
How's it going?
It's going really well.
How are you doing?
I'm doing pretty good.
Good Did you play.
Outside this week?
I did.
Yeah.
I thought I heard you outside singing last week.
Is that right?
I was, yeah.
Oh, so you know the song to squirrel that I saw running by.
I thought it was Rover.
Yeah, it was me.
It was me.
Oh, it was Rover.
I mean.
I said, hey, why don't we play cracked the code.
Here's how we play.
We're goin to ask each other questions, but we're not really talking about the thin you think we're talking about.
So actually, story's goin to ask me questions about pasta.
However, I'm going to answe questions, but not about pasta.
You have to crack the code.
And guess what?
We're really talking about.
So go ahead.
You can start.
Okay.
Does pasta fit in an envelope?
Pasta does not fit in an envelope.
It's too big for a too big.
Okay.
Something big.
Like you.
They've got that little orzo pasta, right?
Yeah.
Even that.
Nope.
Pasta does not fit in an envelope.
Okay.
Oh.
Shoe tree.
Those.
Yeah, those do not.
They're just.
Those are good.
It's pasta.
Bigger than a microwave.
Sometimes pasta actually comes in a lot of different sizes.
Lots of different sizes.
Do you use pasta at school?
You do not use pasta at school?
Yeah.
I don't think that they allow pasta at school.
It would cause a commotion.
Not allowed at school cause a commotion.
Well I think people would b excited to see pasta at school because they don't normally see pasta at school.
Do you see pasta on the playground?
Pasta loves being outside and playing at the park.
Yes.
Oh, look at that.
Somebody get ready!
Go, dear.
Nice job.
Oh, my God, they got that pretty quick.
Yeah, that was good.
Guess that.
Wasn't good.
I would be excited to see a dog at school.
I know.
Would you get excited when you see dogs?
Do you like to run What happens when you see a dog?
I think dogs are fun to play with.
Okay, so you usually guys get along all right?
Yeah, usually.
That's good, because I don't think.
That people have that impression.
I think people think that cats and dogs don't get along that well.
I think it depends on the cat and depends on the dog.
Really good point.
All right, well, you guys did a great job.
You got that one really quick.
Thanks for playing with us.
And, have a great week.
Be.
Oh, boy.
What is it?
We're going to have to figure it out.
Okay.
I need you to put on your thinking brains and think about what is it?
Okay.
Look closely.
Think it over.
What do you notice so far?
What is it?
I'll make some observations.
And notice this one is one of my favorite colors.
Yellow?
Yeah.
Look at that.
Yellow.
I see some curvy lines.
I see some stray lines.
Oh, camel.
Interesting.
It could.
Well, I don't kno if it's a camel, then I think.
Oh, dumped.
Oh.
Oh.
Dump truck.
Dolphin is yellow, has metal.
It does appear to be yellow and metal.
A train heel, not a stitch.
That's, That's a strong possibility for a computer.
I wonder what the inside of a computer looks like.
Wait what's that on the right side?
Oh, a rocking horse.
Maybe it is where it goes up an down and rocks back and forth.
A bulldozer.
Interesting.
Wait a minute.
It is kind of looking like a slide.
Maybe it's a slide.
Wait, wait.
A crane?
That's a vehicle.
Yep.
That's a dump truck.
Wait a minute.
Wait, wait, wait.
Just follow the thing.
I saw something really small.
What do I do?
I cut it at the last minute.
Oh, I think there's a detail that we didn't know.
Look down at the bottom.
Yeah, it's an ant, and they can't go.
It is holding up.
Oh, bulldozer.
The world's the world's strongest ant.
Oh, man.
It's hard to know if this was the world.
I thought maybe, like, the second strongest.
Maybe.
But.
Yeah.
Turns out it's the world's strongest ant lifting a bulldozer.
We're on the right track.
I think we were pretty close.
Yeah, that's a fun game to play.
Believe it or don't.
Just like this mixture of something.
Today I'm going to share the origin of an idiom.
Idioms are phrases that would seem to mean one thing but have come to mean another.
For example letting the cat out of the bag.
It does not mean that someone' letting the cat out of the bag.
No.
Who would put a cat in a bag in the first place?
That's horrible.
But see, the thing is most of most idioms have origins where it meant something at one time, and now people use it to mean something else.
So long, long ago, people would sow piglets, which are little pigs.
You would go to the marke and you would buy a live piglet.
Then, you know, raids on the farm at your home or whatever.
But that's where this little piggy went to the market came from.
But one another segment anyway.
You would buy this little piglet, and sometimes you would get a vendor who was really kind of underhanded, or she is in this case, to fool you.
You get your money.
He would put a cat in the bag instead of the piglet, so he would sell you a cat instead of a piglet.
I mean, you'd think it would be something that would happen to yo once, and you'd go, all right.
I'm checking the bag.
It's kind of like when yo go through the drive thru today and you have to, like, check the bag.
You go.
Did we get the fries or the sandwiches there?
You won't name names but you know you have to do that more at some places than others.
So just like you would check your bag at the drive thru nowadays, peopl would have to go check their bag and make sure they had a piglet and not a cat.
And if you had to check your bag, the cat jumps out of surprise.
You let the cat out of the bag.
Now you know the truth.
So today when people sa you let the cat out of the bag, basically it means you let something be known that you weren't supposed to let me know.
It's supposed to be a secret, but it's no longer a secret becaus you let the cat out of the bag.
And that's how we got the chain.
You let the cat out of the bag.
Believe it or.
Don't, doesn't matter to me.
Wow.
Now, that seems sounds reasonable to me.
I guess I'll write.
It was fascinating learning about the dog.
I think that out of the bag.
Have you ever let the cat out of the bag right.
What are we talking.
This is like, So, like, metaphorically.
Like.
Yep.
Just like that.
Just like the idiom.
Have you ever let the ca out of the bag, you say?
Yeah.
Not really sure, but, I remember once, Jim.
Once, kind of let the cat out of the bag.
Yeah.
Noticed that earlier today, too.
All right.
Hey, listen.
We asked you to believe in Indianapolis, but here's what you guys thought.
Most of you, when you heard this story from Mr.
Grumpy.
What Most of you did not believe it.
You do not believe that?
That is the origin of.
Let the cat out of the bag.
I don't know.
He seems pretty believable.
I mean, I think he's pretty credible, but.
Yeah, right now, most you said no, I won't leave that guy.
The question, then how do we know?
Where do we go to find out?
Well, you know, there's this great thing called the internet, and they have great ways for you to research, find different sources.
You have to find sources you trust.
There's also a place called the library.
There you go.
That's one of these things.
That's what I was going for.
Yeah.
Yeah, you can use either one.
And you know, what's great is you want to use multiple sources.
Yeah.
See what you can find.
Right now we've got one source that's Mr.
Grumpy and that, you know, if you find out anything exciting beyond that, you let us know for sure, because I'm going to believe it right now.
I'm going to check a few.
At least three.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You want to check at least resources, right?
Sooner or late you're going to go okay.
Yeah.
That seems feasible to me.
Yeah.
It's good to use your mind that way.
Yeah.
All right, let's come.
The memory game.
I should have known.
I was thinking to myself, what are we doing now?
I couldn't remember, but of course it's the memory game, right?
What does that mean?
Says Roddick.
I'm nuts.
Yeah.
Okay, so here's how we play the memory game.
We're going to show you some things really quick.
Ten items.
I'm looking.
At, you have to watch, and then you have to see how many you can remember.
You're not going to get the long.
So take a look.
You ready?
I'm ready I'm ready to look closely.
All right.
Okay.
There they are.
They're all office supplies.
So that kind of helps, right.
A couple that.
Righty.
Why would you go.
Oh, they're coming back now okay.
Yep.
Here's a second.
Look.
You're going to get a three looks.
They're all really quick.
So you okay.
All right.
Take your last look here.
We got.
One okay I got one remembered.
Three I'm thinking about it.
All right.
Let' see how everybody dead.
Sorry.
Now you're going to type i whatever ones you can remember.
And hopefully collectively, we can come up with this and go, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I remember one.
Can I take.
But I say, what?
How should I let the people play.
Well yea I guess let's see what happens.
What do you hav a favorite supply you yourself.
Like even when you go to buy supplies for school they have a favorite.
Yeah.
Watermelon.
What?
What do you use a watermelon for?
Isn't it obvious?
Well, now, that's why I'm asking.
I'm curious.
I want to know.
It's a snack.
Wow.
Is it an office supply?
Just for when you get hungry.
I guess a snack would be a good supply, I consider.
I do consider snacks, not office supply.
You know I like the way you think, right?
Because you're thinking out of the box right now.
And yeah of course you need a watermelon.
Okay, okay, we've got one.
What's the last one too?
I'm missing.
Oh, everybody's.
Done.
So good.
Writing utensils.
Do we have pencils?
Low back pain pencil, paper.
Clever tape pad.
Maybe it's strawberries.
I think maybe strawberries.
Now we should have packed strawberries.
I don't think that was one of them.
Now.
I think I know what it is.
Do I think I know what it is?
Should I give it away?
Because I. What's the clue for it?
Well, it's got numbers on it.
It does have numbers on it and little lines, if I'm remembering correctly.
I know I think I do too.
It is a roller coaster.
Okay, great.
I wasn't sure if I had learned that, but yep, that's it.
Thanks for helping us out.
That was great.
You guys did a really good job.
That was a tough one.
Good.
All right.
Well, thanks for playing the memory game.
I think it's watermelon.
Oh, yeah.
Me too.
Risking life and limb to bring you breaking news wherever you can find it.
Rover is yours.
Squirrel on the street.
Excuse me.
Excuse me, pardon me, excuse me.
Okay.
What is your favorite subject in school or art?
What do you like to do?
And I. Draw.
Is this so your baseball fan is basebal your favorite subject at school?
Yeah.
I think it is much computers, computers, probably math.
Math?
Are you going to be my.
Is math your favorite?
Because I like to subtract and add reading.
Reading.
Do you like to read?
Yeah, I like to read too.
I like to read all the time, but I, I love I to.
What do you like to do?
I like snow man.
Jim Snow man and I'd, I'd.
Want that.
Do you have anything you haven't learned yet that you would like to learn?
Out of paper.
How to skateboard?
Yeah, that will be fun.
I don't think they make them my size, do they snap?
Well, actually, they do.
I didn't learn.
Maybe we can learn together.
They actually so many boards.
Yeah.
All right.
I'm going to look into that many more.
Got it.
Chemistry.
Chemistry.
What do you think you doing?
Chemistry.
I have no idea.
I just want to learn it.
Yeah, that'll be fun.
I guess maybe you can make stuff just like you do with art.
Yeah.
Space.
Space.
Yeah.
I would like to learn space.
So would you like to go to space.
Yeah.
Now.
Yeah.
It's a nice place to look at but maybe not to visit.
What tim do you wake up in the morning.
Oh gosh.
On a school day or six.
I try to wak up on six, but I usually end up waking up at 650, like 6 or 7 in the morning.
6 or 7 in the morning necessarily.
Do you have a hard time waking up or are you fine?
I have a hard time waking up sometimes.
Yeah, that seems pretty early.
What time do you wake up in the morning?
535?
Do you have to get up that early for school?
No.
Now why is she getting up at 535 and she doesn't have to get up that early for school?
Well, maybe just to get the day started.
Yeah, maybe she's just hungry.
I wake up, you ever wake up hungry?
I'm like, I could.
I'm so hungry I could.
Eat all.
Melon.
Watermelon.
I was going to say strawberry, but, yeah.
Watermelon.
I could go with either one of those is good for breakfast.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, hey, we were asking you what was your favorite subject at school?
Do you have a favorite subject at school?
I think, I kind of like all of them.
Yeah.
History.
All right.
Yeah.
Cow says I was going to say.
I think I'm going to go with that, too.
Oh, tell my aunt it's a popular one.
Hey.
Way you get that makes that.
Have you learned more about, skateboarding?
Oh, music's a good one, too.
I have, actually, I got too many board.
I've been taking it out.
It's fine.
Oh.
Black square, another music?
Yeah, I like it, I like music.
I'm with you.
Math.
You know, what I like about math is you can usually get an answer right?
Some things you, you it's kind of left open ended but not with math.
Usually get an answer there.
I like that about math.
That's true.
Watermelon studies.
What.
That's great.
Were they were they ain't classe you'd remember tail rabbit.
No.
Well I don't know I didn't know I could stay watermelon.
What you got to take.
That's science.
Yeah.
Sign me up.
I wonder what the curriculum is with.
Another one where you get to make stuff.
I like the things we get to make me see.
The more watermelon around the world, there could be the different flavors, different sides.
How do they make seedless ones?
I have so many questions now, Sam.
I just got really excited.
You just want.
Us to wrap it up here, right?
Okay.
We got to go on to the next game I. Oh, and it's a really good one.
It's easy as pie.
Watermelon pie.
Okay.
Well we call this one easy as pie.
I don't know if you've ever tried to make a pie.
It's not really heaven.
So we're gonna have to ask Mr.
Grumpy to look into that one.
I'm not sure where that one came from.
Okay, but here's what we're asking you today.
We're asking you what' your favorite day of the week?
Now, the reason today is called Easy as Pie is because there's no right or wrong answer.
We're just asking you how you feel.
That's right.
What's your favorite day of the week today?
Today I would say Saturda to Saturday is my favorite day because we get together when we play.
So for sure Saturday is what I'm saying.
Here's how everybody else answer.
People like Friday.
Pretty cool.
Yeah, Friday.
Tuesdays are a hot day.
What do you think is happening on Tuesday?
Maybe they got bowling like us is on Monday.
Oh.
Yeah.
What else could be going on on Tuesday, Any ideas now?
Oh, it's time to play.
Choose.
Choose.
Okay.
We have no idea what we're doing next until you choose.
All right, now you need to pick a door.
You've got three options.
Door number one, number two, or door number three.
Once you've picked the door we find out where we're going.
That's what we're going to do.
Ray is always really good at this one.
He swears he does not use an alien mind power, but I think he does because I think he's gonna like a 90% track record.
I would choose one today.
But I'm going to choose.
Not to.
Choose to.
Do.
All right.
So you choose one.
I choose two.
Let's see what other.
People choose to read.
Neither one of us 60.
I choose three.
Hey, guys.
Hey.
How you doing?
You, do you want me?
But you, Hey, do you want to get some air?
Sure.
Why not?
Yeah.
That's good.
I. What did we just see?
I'm not.
Really sure.
I was gonna ask yo if you knew what.
Was going on.
I have no idea what happened there.
Okay?
I guess I guess we should have gone with door number 1 or 2 is what I'm thinking.
I mean, hey, that was kind of fun.
Here's what we're going to do.
We're going to play a game.
This one's called Quick question.
This game.
Here's what we do.
We're going to send you on a quest.
But it's quick.
You only have two minutes to complete the task.
He is probably going to ask you to do ten today.
We have to find a pair of shoes.
Any pair?
She was just find a pair of shoes.
Okay, tell us what the shoes look like.
Then put those shoes on your hands.
Crawl around and say, move.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
All right.
Like a cow.
Okay, so go find some shoes.
Go.
Okay.
Where to have them.
Our shoes.
Shoe.
Other day.
I want to look at the ceiling.
That's silly.
Your shoes over there.
Did you find any shoes?
Your friend.
I'm still looking.
Yeah.
Okay, okay.
Black shoes.
Oh, yeah.
What do you think?
You should see some shoes.
Oh, I know.
I found some sandals.
I don't know who shoes these are, but.
Oh, these might be.
I'm.
I'm not.
I'm not sure actually.
Were you.
They're they're nice shoes.
Thanks, cat.
Oh.
Who's got those pasta shoes?
I love that murmur.
Hey, look, I got some shoes for my friend Cat.
Thanks again.
Hey, Tim.
I found some red shoes.
Yeah, man, I'd like gray.
Oh, I'm, Oh, dear.
I'm fine.
Oh, yeah.
Forgot.
Just be going now, alligator.
I brought you.
Okay, Craig.
I'm in the shoes.
Heavy.
My shoes are.
Oh.
Oh, okay.
I think I got on.
These shoes are heavy.
Good job, green cow.
Okay, I got him.
Oh, yeah, he made those.
Do.
Look, what do we do now?
I got to put.
Them on your hands and crawl around and say, move like a cow does.
Okay?
Oh.
Oh, I only found one shoe.
How many shoes do you need?
I just what?
You've got four hands I thin you need to find for shoes.
Hey.
For shoes?
Yeah.
Oh, man.
Hey, Kevin.
Thanks for.
Let me use these shoes.
They're working out just great.
They're perfect fit.
I think I sent them over here.
Kenny wants his shoes back.
I'll give them to you in just a minute.
The show's only like another minute long.
You can have them back in a minute.
I don't see any over there.
But I found some.
I found boots, okay.
Here's.
Hey, can you believe that they let us do this?
To what?
This show.
I'm so glad that they do.
Hey, friends.
I love that you found your shoe so fast.
Where you going?
Did you have fun going?
I can't can't hold on a second.
Ken really wants his shoes back.
I'm good.
I'm taking good care of them.
Oh, okay.
