Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- Hi, we are the Girls of Steel, a robotics program based out of Carnegie Mellon University for kids in grades K through 12.
- [Together] And this is our teachable moment.
- Every year on the high school team, we build a robot that accomplishes many different tasks.
This includes climbing platforms, driving over bumps, and even shooting baskets.
Our team has over 40 members, and in order to complete our goal of building the robot, we must use teamwork.
- This means that everyone on our team has a part in completing our goal.
- Not a single one of us could build a robot all by ourselves.
Everyone has different ideas and different skills to contribute.
- Now it's your turn.
Did you know that you're also part of a team at home?
That's right.
Your family is a team.
You all have to work together to achieve your goals.
- That can include planning a weekend activity, cooking a meal, or even simply just doing your chores.
- Try doing one of these activities all together.
- You might find that everyone has an important role to play or a great idea to contribute.
- [Together] Have fun!
