- Hi, I'm Craig Bartlett, the creator of "Dinosaur Train".
And today I'm gonna show you how to draw my favorite character from the show, Buddy.
So let's do it.
(upbeat music) All right, so let's draw Buddy.
And feel free to pause the video any point you want 'cause you might draw at a different speed than I do.
Everyone draws at their own speed.
Ready?
Here goes.
So I always start with the eyes.
And then I just build the head all around it.
(marker scratching) Buddy's always got a smile on his face, he's a very happy guy, very positive guy.
Okay, then I draw his little arms.
And his two-fingered claws.
Because, as you probably know, t-rex only had two-fingered claws.
And his little tail.
His three-toed feet.
He's a theropod, theropods have three-toed feet, always.
There you go, that's basically the body.
Then I do his teeth.
Buddy has lots and lots of teeth because he's a t-rex.
I don't know if you know this, but t-rex teeth actually were about the size of a banana.
T-rex's were very big.
There you go.
His big friendly eyes.
There you go.
His little nostrils.
Good.
And then he's got these little kinda diamonds on the design on top of his head.
And I put a couple on his nose too.
And then down his back.
And out his tail.
That's basically it.
Except I've got a green marker here, so let's go ahead and do his eyes.
Because, you might remember, the song.
It goes... ♪ Last little baby was a different size ♪ ♪ With teeth, and a tail, and big green eyes ♪ Oh, you know what?
Let's also draw his mouth in, color it in a little, because we can.
(upbeat music) There you go.
And Buddy often says... Rarr!
He also says... Life is good.
Because, you know, life is good.
There, okay, and then you know I always like to sign my pictures, so here you go.
Craig.
Bartlett.
And that is how you draw Buddy.
