I am an artist and I am also a musician.
When I was at university, I was studying in the painting department, but music was always at the center of my life.
So I became a guest student in the music department.
I would take my violin and practice in a classroom right next to my painting studio.
In that building, I was the only one making music.
The hallways echoed only with my violin sound.
I was in fourth year, one day after a painting class, I was walking down the hallway when I heard a sound.
It was an ordinary sound.
It was the kind of sound that makes you stop walking, that reach straight into your heart.
A cello.
I followed the sound.
With every step, my heartbeat grew faster.
I stopped in front of a classroom.
I opened the door.
And in that moment, time stopped for a few seconds.
There she was, a girl as beautiful as a fairy, playing cello.
Her hair was failing over the cello.
Her fingers touching the strings so gently, so gracefully.
There are no perfect words for what I felt in that moment.
I only notice some moments you recognize low instantly.
I walk closer and asked, "May I listen to you?"
She smiled and said, "Of course."
She started playing a piece.
I knew it as B minor on the violin, but on the cello, it had transformed into D minor.
At one point she stopped and look at me.
"This is in your key, "she said.
"B minor.
I was surprised.
How do you know I played violin?"
I asked.
She smiled and said, "I know."
At that moment, I couldn't hold back anymore.
"Would you like me to play something for you?
"I asked.
I started running to get my violin.
I rushed into the painting studio.
My professor look at me and asked," What happened?
"And without thinking, I said," I fell in love.
I found love of my life.
"I grabbed my violin and ran back.
I played something for her like that.
And she did like that.
Later, I found out that this story had actually begun long before I opened that door.
She always really knew about me.
She had been accepted in the painting department, but she had also auditioned for the music department.
During her audition, they told her there was a student named Hussein in the painting department, very talented, and that you could make music together.
So that day, while she was playing the cello, she was thinking," I wish Hussein would come.
"And at that exact moment, I opened the door.
When we exchanged phone numbers, the next day I came back with sheet music.
And since that day, we have been playing duets together because some love stories don't begin with words.
Some begin in a halfway with the sounds of a cello right in the middle of a violent art.
Ours began with music.
Thank you so much.
