This is Ray and it's time for our show today.
Yeah, I don't think this is going to work.
Probably not.
No one's going to buy it.
Okay.
Hey, what do you say?
Are you ready to.
Make our show today?
Hey.
Great.
Yes.
What's on our show today?
We have puppets.
We have people.
We have places.
We have fun.
We are sorry.
We are busy.
We got games.
We got you.
Hey, take it away.
Hi, Brian.
Tyree.
How you doing?
What?
I can't.
Hear you.
I cannot hear you, Ray.
I cannot.
Hear.
Oh, no.
Do you know what just happened?
I think I know what happened.
Your microphone was.
Off.
Well, yeah.
Porque Sighs junior, you silly goose.
He unplugged my microphone.
I'll catch you next time.
I'm glad it's right there now.
How are you today?
I'm good, I'm good.
So, I was just saying that, Jack and, Mr.
Grumpy, they're trying to be us.
And, I think that a little jealous, if I'm being honest.
Yeah.
All right.
Hey, let's say we always start the show with a couple of questions, you know?
So we get to know one another.
The first questio we asked our viewers today was, do you have any brothers or sisters?
Right.
I don't know this.
I do not know.
Do I own.
Yeah.
Now.
Same here.
I'm an only squirrel, but I get around a lot, so people think I do it.
Brothers.
I know that was just me.
Okay.
The second question we asked everybody was, do you buy something?
Snacks.
Oh, sweet snacks.
I think I go with, Well, I have to choose one.
Yep.
I don't there's, I think I struggle to because, like, a chocolate covered pretzel.
Perfec combination of soft and sweet.
I want to have both.
Yeah but I guess if I had to choose, I'd go.
Sweet.
Good.
Because, I don't want to have too much sodium.
I don't want to have too much sweets.
So it's always important to have things in moderation.
Yes.
Things in moderation.
All right, well, let' find out what our viewers got.
We're going to find out a fun fact about our viewers today.
We asked them the same questions.
And here's what we found out.
That 87% of viewers with siblings prefer sweet snacks.
That's interesting.
So, South.
Really, the winner is what I'm finding out, at least among the viewers who have siblings.
Yeah, but 37% is not that I have a percentage, though.
Well, right.
That's why I'm doing the math here.
Oh, right.
Oh, thanks.
So what that means is, yeah, 63% makes sense.
I should have listened to the words you said instead of, made them assumptions.
You know, math is hard, especially early on a Saturday morning, you know?
Yeah.
Yeah, I can just get a little mixed up.
That's that's that's all of us.
But anyways, I think the bottom line is we need some more salty snacks that are sweet as well.
Yeah.
What is.
Maybe we can ask about that one next time.
Well guess what.
It's done for.
What's in a. Name?
That's a good one.
Okay, so here's how it works.
There's the name we see right there.
Eunice may go.
Glad to look at the letter now choosing from those letters.
Can you come up with some words?
I see for example, in the first name, if we start with the letter n, I see, n I see.
Oh, dear.
We both saw that.
That's awesome.
But they don't have to be in any particular order.
Like cool dear says, let l eat.
What?
Let us keep coming up with more.
May I suggest that you think of the word?
Let's see.
Oh.
What is this fun?
What are the things we like to do and say?
Well, the two just for fun.
It's pronounced letters.
Nay.
We gotta look out for the naysayers or nerd.
But I think that's spelled differently.
Ways l a c e I see it, guys play.
Yeah.
When I feel sleepy, I like to lay down.
In fact, before the show, I did lay down taking a little nap.
Actually, I don't know if it was a na because I was still waking up.
So I guess you can't take a nap if you're still waking up.
Yeah.
Well, hey.
Thanks, friends.
I love playing this game.
You could play yoursel any time to write down a name.
Write down word, and then what you do is look for more words inside that word.
Let's see.
And, let' see if I can get one more.
See, t t a t I c yeah, I' still gonna keep working on it.
Well, we find out wha Jimmy story you're going to do.
Hi, story.
Hey.
How's it going?
Pretty good.
How about you?
Pretty good.
Good.
Are you ready to play crack the code?
I think so.
All right, I love this game.
Here's what it is.
It's kind of like 20 questions, except we talk in code, so story' going to be asking me questions I will be answering today about pancakes, but I'm not really answering about pancakes.
You have to figure out what it i that I'm actually talking about.
All right.
Are you ready?
Hit it.
All right.
Our pancakes.
A common household object.
Pancakes.
I would say that most homes probably have pancakes most of the year.
Many times outside or inside, too.
Both.
So pancakes are a seasonal thing?
They could be depending on where you live.
Sometimes not too.
Yeah, I guess I'm making it more confusing.
There needs to be.
That's my answer.
Okay.
Our pancakes flat.
Surprisingly, no, pancakes are not flat.
Not flat?
Very counterintuitive.
Can you.
Eat pancakes?
It's not usually their primary purpose.
Although I do believe that some pancakes are used as an ingredient in some foods at times, but that's usually not what they're primarily for.
Used as an ingredient.
But you don't eat them.
Not usually.
Can you.
Where.
Pancakes.
Yes.
Sometimes people were.
Where.
Pancakes on special occasions.
Have you ever worn a pancake?
Oh, wait.
You don't know what we're talking about yet.
But yeah, sometimes people where have.
Never.
Worn a. Pancake.
Pancakes.
Especially on a special occasion.
Yes.
Would you give a pancake as a gift?
Yes.
Oh, I got that.
Whoa!
Good job.
Almost got it.
It is.
Flowers.
We were talking about flowers.
Not pancakes at all.
Wow.
Nicely done.
Nicely done.
That was good.
I didn't crack it yet.
Nope.
You didn't crack it yet.
But you did a nice job.
And thanks for playing with us.
Good seeing you.
Yeah.
You do.
Yeah.
Hi, I'm Phil Lane, director of content View public media.
Toda I'm running camera for our show.
Today.
And I bet you're looking for the fill and the blank word of the day, which is snow.
Can you think of a word that follows snow?
Today's fill in the blank is snow.
Blank.
Oh, man.
Phil, I love it.
Okay, so we got to do what Phil said.
We need to fill in the blank.
Fill and the blank snowman that would be put in the word man.
So then it gives us snowman.
Nice.
Let's keep going with more down your pla it all metaphors snowball be a. Oh yeah.
So we've got snowman.
We've got snowball.
Let's see.
Snow angel.
Nice snowfall.
I like to go outside when it's in the winter.
And look for the snowfall.
And I wear my snow boots.
By the way, if you see an answer, you also like, type it.
And that'll tell us.
No more o you like that word suggestion?
Let's see.
Snow angel.
Snowball.
Snowflake.
Wait a minute.
I wonder if we put the letter.
Why would it come up?
It's snowy.
Oh it is.
I see it right there.
Yep.
Snowflake, you know, this kind of inspires me to want to make a song.
Snow, a snow snow plow, snowflake, snow man.
And over.
That's a rough draft.
Let's see.
Snow person.
What happens in so many times?
Person.
Snow person.
Snow man.
Snow lady.
Snow can.
Oh, man.
The snow man needs to look out for the snow plow.
Yeah.
Snow storm.
I'm pretending it's a snow storm.
Oh, no.
Snow.
Looks like the most popular answers are snow.
What?
There's no plow followed by Snowflake and Snowy.
There's still a man.
And then some other possibilities that also were suggested.
Man, I think Phil would be proud of our answers.
I appreciate Phil and I bet he does.
Thanks, friends.
Yeah, that's pretty good.
That was like a snowbal snowball fight.
Out of the way.
What was the first thing you thought when.
I got a snowflake?
Stuf like it's going to be snowing.
Snowing?
I want to eat some snowflakes.
It's not snow.
Is it snowing inside?
Oh, no.
Not yet.
I've been ready.
I'm ready for him.
Okay, nice.
Oh, is that what you choose?
This is a fun part of the show where you choose what comes next.
We don't even know.
So you need to choose a door.
Door number one.
Door number two.
I got number three.
And then we find out what comes next.
Ray is really good at this game.
I don't think you've missed one yet.
I don't want to jinx you today every game, but.
I'm pretty sure last week I missed it.
I don't think so.
I think you have insider information.
I'm going to guess number two.
No, that's still not correct.
I'd say three, though.
All right, let's find out.
Drumroll.
Oh, wow.
Look at that.
Neither one of us saw that one coming.
I told you.
Oh.
I made these, I can win.
Let's see what hand is going to make today.
Okay, so here we go.
What's that?
Double time speed.
Okay, he's making some circles.
Circles?
The circles.
That looks like a Pokeball.
Oh, maybe it's, Wait, that's a shoe.
I think it's a shoe.
Oh, it's it's an animal.
Are you sure?
I found a leg with a fuzzy slipper.
No, no, I think it's a duck.
Of course.
Yes, I got a bird.
I think I know that quack, quack.
I going to make the sound.
Oh, it does have long legs.
I noticed.
Oh, wait, is.
That with a line stab?
Oh my God.
Yeah, it's a little line on the leg that I like that.
Hold your legs.
Down.
Do you know that guy?
No, I'm not sure what that ducks.
Well, that animal or duck or bird's name is.
And I like the little jagged lines.
Nice job that hands you my job.
Nice.
What should we name that guy?
I think I would go with the name.
I'm thinking, Mark.
Mark?
Yeah.
Looks good.
What would you name this bird?
I'm thinking, yeah.
Mark is a good name.
Maybe.
I was thinking Tony.
Okay.
Now, for some reason, I look like a Tony to me.
Oh, da da da da.
Movie about.
Charles.
Charles is very.
Funny.
I can see both those names.
Yeah.
It's good.
Quack quack quack.
That's a good one.
Yeah, because he goes.
Hey, Quacker.
How are you doing?
All right.
Quack quack quack.
Quack quack quack.
Guys.
Yeah.
How are you?
Maybe.
Quack.
Long the same lines down crackers.
Oh, Richie.
I like stretchy.
Yeah, yeah, I think I might go with stretchy.
I'm going to call them stretchy.
Final answer.
Stretchy.
Okay.
Yeah.
Nicely done.
Ray, do you know wh they call this game easy as pie?
I think it's like it means it's really simple.
It is.
It's super easy.
Here's how you play the game.
We ask you a question.
All you have to do is tell us your opinion.
So it's easy.
There's no right or wrong answers.
And then we find out, well, what did everybody think?
So that question we're asking you today is what is your favorite sport.
Do you have a favorite sport?
I like tennis.
Tennis.
Yeah I like, is eating a sport?
No, thanks.
Well, no no, no.
Me, I don't know.
I like tennis because I've got forearms.
Oh, yeah.
You'd be really good at tennis.
You could play, like, doubles with yourself.
Oh, yeah.
I don't know if I'm.
So I guess I could work.
Yeah, I can say, like, track and field.
I do a lot of running around, especially in fields.
So I'm going to say track and field.
Yeah.
So are you running around the studio the other day in the backyard?
Well, I'm not a. Fan too, you know Oh, that's my favorite to play.
But yeah, it could be a favorite to watch, right.
Oh, yeah.
Oh.
It's automatic.
Baseball's the big one about the league.
Would you have expected this?
I guess it's logical.
Yeah.
For soccer, mobile phones.
For positive popular ones.
Soccer.
Volleyball and is it American football or is it football?
That soccer?
No.
I thin I think it's American football because we have soccer right below it.
Oh.
That works.
That makes sense.
All right, well nicely played everybody.
And that's how you play the game.
That was pretty expert.
Because that's a good name for it.
We're going to miss it with all our friends.
And when we're there we're gonna see a monster the iguana.
All right.
We're at the giant ball zoo today with my pal Ian.
Ian, how are you doing?
I'm doing.
Great.
And I'm so excited for you guys to be here at our Natural Treasures building here at the John Ball Zoo.
Yeah, it's good to see it.
So tell us a little bit about monster here.
So here behind us we have monster, one of our absolute favorite game on us here at John Ball Zoo.
And he is a Grand Cayman blue iguana as you see behind him.
He's an adul and he is, 16 years old, which might seem old, do you guys?
However, Grand Cayman iguana are some of the oldest living, lizards on our planet.
And he can actually live up to 70 years old, so he's actually not that old.
He is diurnal.
So when he sees lights turn on even when he's hanging in bed, he gets, around eight, 12, 12 hours of sleep, 12 hours of being awake during the daytime.
And that's not including some of his naps.
He likes to take on this log behind us, and once he warms up in the day, gets by a little bit.
He moves over to his long right there, which he is his absolute favorite spot to hang out.
And, he gets to watch everyone come into natural treasures building.
And he loves to say hello.
How he communicates with some of our guest is by nodding his head back and forth.
You might do it for us on camera.
He's a very interested to see you too.
Right here.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
Hey.
Hi, monster.
I ain't doing my stand.
We gotta get you a pillow.
Oh, yeah.
He' used to seeing a lot of humans.
I don't know how many squirrels he's seen and definitely don't kno how many aliens he's got to see.
So this is a big deal Probably for monster behind us.
Yeah, it's a big deal for us.
Hey, man.
So you should come by my place sometime.
I'll do that.
My other monsters favorite thing to eat is grapes and kale.
However, for his species, he'll eat anything from fruits, vegetables to greens.
A lot of his, cousins stuff that live the wild will eat insects.
However, monster himself, does not find much liking to the bugs that, other ones and stuff.
Those are kind of gross for him.
Yeah, I agree, I agree.
They have some fruits and veggies.
Yeah.
No, definitely.
But grapes.
That's his absolute favorite thing to eat.
Now he looks like he enjoys the sleep.
He absolutely does.
And, when he does sleep you can see he's a blue iguana.
However, when he gets underneath his nights and he does decide to wake up when he warms up to about 100 degrees, his body does tur even a more bright blue color.
So, he is a pretty good blue shade right now.
We get a little darker than that, but, if he's in the right mood, he wants to share show some of his other friends how blue he is, how beautiful B is.
He can even bright up, light up even more blue than he is right now.
Y you could change colors depending on his mood, his temperature and how he's personally feeling.
That's pretty cool.
I'd like to be able to change colors like that, but hey Ian, thanks for taking care of my pal monster.
Thanks for introducing us in.
I bet you're talking to a stranger, but that's.
Oh, thank you guys.
I'm so excite for you to be here in monster.
Appreciate the two of you.
You going to say goodbye, monster?
I'm not my monster to see you.
Thanks so much.
Come back and talk.
Tag in the summer.
Okay.
Yeah I like playing tag with monster.
We did.
We went back, we played tag, and I'm a lot faster than him, so it's kind of fun for me.
Yeah.
I don't know how fun it was for masa, though.
We never got him a pillow either.
He looks like he needs a pillow to me.
Yeah, I like grapes, too.
I noticed he likes grapes.
Yeah, grapes are good.
And he likes naps.
And you like naps till you guys got back in combat, too.
Yeah.
Hey, if you could change colors, what color would you be when you were happy?
I thought, that's pretty nea how we can change colors.
Still.
Yeah.
I don't know how to do that.
Yeah I think I think if I were going to change colors and I'm happy, I would go with, yellow, I think yellow people go, wow, that's cool.
I must be happy.
Oh, Tim Mars is purple.
I was thinking purple too.
I almost said purple.
I went with yellow.
Go.
Do I tell mouse?
Black ostrich says green.
Yeah.
Green.
Oh, it's not easy being green plaid.
Whoa, wait a minute.
Can I change my answer?
I want to go with red outfits.
I want to turn plaid.
Yes, plaid.
What about polka dot or something?
Yeah.
No.
Purple alligator took mine.
Yellow.
I think I'm switching now.
I thin I'm going to go back to plaid.
That was a really good idea.
Yeah, I think so.
Green.
Yep.
Green.
And I think green.
Yeah.
Green.
Green would be happy I guess another black squirrel says green.
Yeah.
All right.
O those colors are pretty great.
They are pretty neat But yeah I'm still going purple.
As I says go fancy.
Yeah, it will be fancy.
All right.
Well thanks friends.
That was a lot of fun.
And it was fun seeing the lizard too, right?
Holy cow.
Monster is.
Yo.
I like when he was pushed the dirt.
Was I coming out?
I know, baby that's what he was looking for.
That pillow we promised him.
Baby, that must be.
Yeah.
He.
He.
The game is.
What is it?
What is, What what is it?
We know.
So here's what we're going to do.
We're going to show you a video.
Here we go.
You take a close look becaus it's a really extreme close up.
We very slowly move away.
You'll have to guess what it is.
If somebody guesses what it is, the game playing stops.
I have no idea.
Yeah, maybe it's just patience.
Might be a spaceship.
It does look like a spaceship or satellite.
Yeah, neither.
I think you're right.
I think we're righ with spaceship.
Oh.
Garbage bag.
Yeah, that's a good guess.
Still, I could see that color.
Maybe it looks like the back of a television set.
I was just hooking up my cable the other day.
It look just like that?
Oh.
I think that's a cord coming off the back.
I think it's satellite.
A bag?
Yeah, maybe a spaceship, I think.
I think you are right.
With your first guess, a spaceship.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, okay.
That that's 0020.
Oh, my.
Yeah.
That's racket.
Right?
That looks like a window.
No.
To me.
Yeah.
Maybe there's a spaceship.
Oh.
Oh, you shadow, it is looking like a spaceship now.
For sure, I think it.
Oh, wait, wait a minute.
I think I knew I left, I think I know, I'm pretty sure, but he's got.
Pretty tricky, though.
He's got it.
Did you see that guy?
What guy?
Okay, nobody got it, apparently.
So let's give the answer.
It's not a whole answer.
The answer was.
Oh, helicopter.
I'm guessing.
Okay, but what was the secon we show the answer?
He's not in the helicopter.
That's a helicopter.
Wait a second.
What's that?
What?
That was a lemon hypo bearded dragon lizard hanging from an Airbus RS3 55 twin star helicopter this week.
Very detailed.
Yeah, but I'm hearing that w would have accepted the answer.
Lizard hanging from a helicopter.
Is that right, Sam?
Oh, Sam.
What?
That would have worked if somebody just said lizard hanging from a helicopter.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
So, yeah, either one would have worked.
But nobody nobody guessed either one.
So good game.
Everybody.
That was a tricky one.
People say that's our hottest game we have.
I you know, I have to agree that is a pretty tricky one.
Yeah.
I was.
Like, I think that's.
Been tricky.
All right.
Hey, well hurry up.
We got to play Quick Quest.
Wait a minute.
We got a joke first.
Don't forget the you.
Oh, yeah.
We really got to move fast.
Then.
Knock, knock goes bad.
Cargo.
Hold on.
Cargo.
Oh, cargo.
Cargo hold.
Cargo.
Beat the.
Cargo.
Maybe like a horn, I think this year.
Yeah, like welcome.
All right.
I'll talk to you later.
I wasn't expecting that.
Did you know big goes beep beep.
I think, I've heard him do that.
Okay.
Yeah.
It is.
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Cargo.
Cargo?
Who can go?
Beep beep.
I just told you.
Oh, you like when I was there?
I knew the answer.
Yeah.
Quick question.
Okay.
Tell us.
We have given you these things to do.
Where would you go in a spaceship?
Why would you bring with you as your copilot number to do ten jumping jacks?
Because astronauts are physically fit.
You got to make sure you stay here and then shout hooray!
Because they like to celebrate too, right?
Okay.
So right.
Where are we going?
Where are we going?
Let's go to, you know, I want to visit my my Uncle Joe.
Okay.
So we're going to your Uncle Joe's.
I'm going to bring you as the copilot because you've go a lot of experience for.
Think.
I can't think of anybody else I would rather bring with me.
I know how to get there, too.
Yeah, like I'm not bringing.
I'm not bringing, Mr.
Jones.
I'm not for sure.
203 let's get going for five.
Six, seven.
Use your arms like eight.
Wait.
I'm ready.
Rover, you do have ten.
I lost track haha.
That feels about right.
All right.
That's gross.
Bring your brother to the moon.
Oh, God.
Was bringing them up.
Moon Ray, bring my mama a good one to bring along this mom.
If she wasn't with me.
Oh, hey, red elephants bring in monster with.
Hey, man.
Is that.
Yeah.
You're gonna go on a trip to.
Pluto with Red elephant?
They're on their way to pick you up.
How is he at your house?
Yeah.
You can hear me from here.
I got my voice.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
Purple alligator is bringing the friend to the moon.
Hooray, hooray for him!
Gold day is taking a rocket to school.
We.
I think it'll be a great way for gold digger.
That'd be fun.
Could you imagin if somebody came up to school?
There's just like.
And the drop off, and all of sudden a rocket ship comes down.
That'd be pretty cool.
Yeah.
You say, hey.
Wow, that's a. Great for everyone, Ray.
For everyone.
Ready for the travelers.
Good job.
Friends.
That was a quick question.
We did it.
I was sure that could have enough time.
I always worry about not having you.
You have time for.
I know I wanted to put that joke in.
Were you, like, moving things along?
Oh, yeah, I absolutely was.
I was worried about Quick Quest.
I'm always worried about quick question.
I went, oh wait, a friend, there's a joke for us.
But hey friends, thanks for playing with us today.
It's always so much fun.
You guys had some great ideas today.
Like I'm really feeling like we had a great show today because I.
