- Well, I think that as much as we wanna say educators have a holy calling and sometimes I wanna resist that, we do because we get to see people at their best and at their worst and somewhere in between and we get to help people see the mirrors of who they can be.

What's changed is that kids and people in general at large don't seem willing to even hear something different.

They see politics as being so overwhelming and disengage from their reality.

They just wanna put their head in the sand immediately.

They don't wanna know do I lean left or lean right, do I lean in the middle?

They don't even wanna know because the adults really haven't given 'em a lot of good role models.

I see the value of how students learning about civics, civic structures, civic moments in time can help ignite them and see their value and their connection to the communities that they're living in as well as the past.
