People used to call them gypsy's.
But one day a fire in Django's camp burned his hands and fingers so badly every one said his guitar playing days were over.
But he pushed through the frustration and pain and taught himself to play solos using just a thumb and two fingers, most people can't play that sweet using all their digits.

Hi, I'm Lee Gramling.
Nice to meet you.
What you reading there?
I was looking through one of my books.
What's it called?
This one is called Rider's of The Swanee.
What's it about?
It's about outlaws and gunfighters and cowboys in early Florida.
What makes cowboy westerns so unique?
They're all action stories and they take place on the frontier.
What do you like so much about this particular subject and cowboys and?
Well, not just cowboys but everybody on the frontier it was independent.
You know, they were self sufficient, they could take care of themselves and as a matter of fact they had to most of the time.
What was it like for you growing up around here?
I think it was more innocent but sometimes you know, we look back on times with kind of rose colored glasses.
We tend to think of things being better back then then they were.
But it was a simpler time.
If kids like me were writing a cowboy genre, how could I get started?
Well the first answer is what I tell everybody who's an aspiring writer, is the first thing you have to do is sit down behind a keyboard.
[Kid] Hmm.
Which is the hardest thing for a lot of people to do.
Um, and I just start writing, some people make themselves an outline first.
And then start writing from the outline, I just start the story with a good idea of who my characters are.
And try to get him into trouble and try to get him out of trouble.
Why are cowboy stories so interesting for you?
Well I think I like the historical aspects of it.
I like the action and adventure and I don't want to write about anything that I consider boring.
And I find it really exciting to write about cowboys and outlaws and cattle and things like that.
Thank you for joining us on the Kids Stew interview.

(whooshes) (country music) To be a professional rodeo cowboy it takes a lot of determination and heart and just to try, when people see you try they want to help you get into it.

I've been riding bulls for 15 years.
I'm a professional bull rider.
No, the bulls don't get hurt, they're very well taken care of.
They get treated better than the cowboys.
Being a rodeo clown is by far very entertaining, fun, I enjoy it, I mean obviously 2500 people here tonight.
I got to try to make all of them laugh and when you get out there and you hear crickets, you just got to keep going through it I mean it's no different than a stand up comedian.
A rodeo, there's different events in rodeos there's bucking horses and bulls.
There's girls competing in all events too.
Well I mean it definitely takes a lot of courage and stuff to get on a bull, I've never rode a bull.
I mean obviously I run around and get chased by 'em all night but I've never rode a bull like I said tonight.
The way to become a bull rider is to put a handful of marbles in your mouth every time you get on a bull you spit a marble out when you've lost all your marbles then you're a bull rider.
That's the truth, but them guys are gladiators in the rodeo, I mean they're getting on 1800 pound bull with one hand and riding it as it's bucking and flaying all over the place, I mean that's something that is definitely something that I respect a lot and respect them all for doing it.
I cherish every bull ride the same, so I take the good with the bad.
If it's a 54 ride I'm gonna scream and holler and I'm gonna pump the crowd up because they come here, they pay to see it, and it just, there's no other feeling like that in the world.

Let's go to his studio.
Hello Kid Stew, my name is Thomas Dambo.
I am an artist from Copenhagen in Denmark and behind me I have my big warehouse were I collect different types of trash and recycled materials that I use to build really big recycled art installations all around the world and I know that a lot of you young people, you write everything on the smart phone and on the internet and because of this you don't get so tall as us Vikings.
Because before the typewriter, before we used to carve letters into a rock before pen and paper before cave paintings, before all of this back in the Viking ages of Europe, we used to write everything with these big wooden letters.
Come on, follow me into my workshop.
And this is my big recycle workshop in Copenhagen.
I make recycled projects and artwork out of trash that I find around the world in other peoples trash and then I turn them into beautiful things.
I like to play with legos as a kid.
So as a kid I would build big, big Lego castles later I started to be a skater and I started to build small skateboard ramps and I'd make my own bed and like so, I've always been building everything and when I say it's important, I mean that it is super, super important that we don't just buy things and throw them out.
Buy things and throw them out, because if you continue doing this we will slowly turn the whole world into one big garbage can and I think nobody wants to live in a garbage can.
So that's why I use recycled materials.
And one of the other projects I like to do is that I like to build these really really big trolls, they are like 15 to 20 feet tall.
I have made 54 trolls and they are all hidden in the forests all over the world.
(knocks) And this is the face of one of the new trolls that I'm working on and that's what I love about recycling and this, that if you are a little bit creative then you can pretty much build everything out of anything.
And I think it's really beautiful for me to think about that before this became a troll, it was a big shelf system for a one dollar shop in Copenhagen.
And now it's a troll for a lot of people all around the world to enjoy.
Okay, hope you enjoyed my little tour around my recycled workshop and warehouse I hope you will be inspired to make something like this yourself, it is an important job to teach the people of the future.
So thank you and from me to you, goodbye, Kids Stew.
