It's Melvin Mania.
And.
Today's guests.
Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Melvin Mania.
I'm your host, Melvin.
I really thought we would get a bigger reaction for our Halloween costumes.
Devo.
Me too.
I mean, we put a lot of time into these costumes.
I thought the audience would get a kick out of it.
I know even the guy that always brings his own chair and sits on the front row is completely quiet.
Maybe ask him if he notices any changes to the show.
Maybe it's not clear that we're dressed like each other.
That's smart.
Hey, buddy.
Yeah, you.
Have you noticed any big changes about the show?
Nope.
You sure?
I'm positive.
got it.
But it is a few things though I think it's only one thing, but if you have more, let's hear it.
Well, just off the top of my head, Steve was Mike is missing.
The frogs are facing each other.
Sesame Street thermos has a note under it that says groovy.
There's a talking lemon on the carpet.
up?
The crazy box is that a 97 degree angle instead of its traditional 93 degree angle.
and Stella is dressed up like Tim, the timekeeper for Halloween.
somebody noticed.
I don't even know how to respond to all that.
That was just incredible.
I'm honestly not even mad that you didn't notice my Halloween costume.
I don't I doubt that, Steve-O.
You're not going to top that, Melvyn.
I would just head to your desk.
You're right.
Stella, can you play some music?
As I head to my desk?
Who's this fella you're talking about?
I'm Tim, the time keeper.
Right.
My bad.
Tim the timekeeper.
Would you please play some music as I head to my desk?
Of course.
It's time for some music.
So, Stevo, I got a question.
Okay.
What's up?
Do you think I'm scary?
Like normal.
You or you dressed up like me.
You No.
Just normal.
Me.
Basically what you look like right now.
So are you asking if I'm scary?
No, I'm just realizing that us dressing up as each other is incredibly confusing.
Let's just start over.
When you see this picture, what do you think?
I see a lovable goofball that's just trying to make the world a better place.
That's very kind, Steve-O.
But you're not spooked at all.
Not really.
Well, that's not good.
why?
Well, Steve-O, I'm currently in the process of pitching a new spin off show of Melvin Mania called Melvin's Secret Spooky Camera.
Oh, well, that sounds awesome.
Oh, I know, I've been working really hard on it and just got it finished in time for Halloween.
So what's the problem?
You said to yourself, Steve-O, I'm not scary.
Well, maybe I'm wrong.
Why don't we just watch the show and we'll finally know if you're scary or not?
okay, let's watch Melvin secret spooky camera then.
And because this is the first time the public is going to see it, that makes this a Melvin Mania exclusive.
Got What I. What up maniacs.
It's Melvin.
Welcome to Melvin.
Secret spooky camera.
Make sure you subscribe and slam that like button.
If we get 50 k likes on this video, as promised, I will once again be eating a cheeseburger with a blindfold on.
Let's just hope what happened last time doesn't happen again.
There's a screwdriver on this, ain't there?
Y'all are too much.
Today's secret spooky scare target is Alan Natha.
He's currently at lunch, but when he makes it back to his office, he's in store for a major spooky scare.
Yes.
That's it for Melvin.
Secret spooky camera.
Make sure you leave a comment and let us know what you thought of the scare.
Wow.
That was a lot worse than I remembered.
It wasn't that bad, but maybe for the time being, you should stick to stuff.
You know, you're good at.
That's true.
Steve-O.
And speaking of things I know I'm good at.
That reminds me.
We need to get into our first segment of the show.
Local town on the ground.
down on the ground.
and today's logo down the ground.
We're visiting Augusta, Kansas.
It was founded in 1868. and was named after the founders wife, Augusta James.
That's very sweet.
But would you ever name a town after your wife, Melvin?
I'm not married.
Stevo.
Yeah, I know you're not married.
But if you were married, would you name a town after your wife?
It just depends of my hypothetical wife.
Had a cool name or not?
I didn't even think about that.
You got to think of everything when it comes to marriage, Steve.
Oh, it's a big commitment.
Anyway, as much as I would love to continue to talk about my future wedding, we need to head to Augusta before I do.
I should get out my Steve Oh costume.
So we don't confuse anyone.
We're interviewing.
Much better.
Let's head to Augusta, Kansas.
Welcome to Augusta, Kansas.
Let's go talk with some people.
Here I am with Casey Davis, a kindergarten teacher at Garfield Augusta Elementary.
Now, Casey, I am a little confused why you're not wearing a Halloween costume right now.
Because it's our Halloween episode.
But don't worry.
I got something for you.
You want to hold my microphone for me for a second?
Of course.
This has been one of the more popular costumes this year, and I feel like you might enjoy it.
so I put it on.
Yeah, let me see it.
Camera guy, can you get a shot of both of us right next to each other?
Now at home, can you figure out which one is me and which one is Casey?
Good luck.
Let's both say the same thing at the same time.
Hey, what are we saying?
Let's both say, Chocolate milk.
Chocolate milk.
Okay.
Ready?
Three.
Two.
One.
Chocolate milk.
I don't even know.
No, I think I'm confused as well.
What is your favorite thing to do in Augusta, Kansas?
I like going to the orange and black park because I have a friend who we can just, like, ride our bikes there.
Time from us.
Super zipline.
Trick.
Whoa.
So, Casey, when I came into your classroom, I didn't realize I was going to be having to sign a contract.
you have the papers for me to sign or.
I do, but we have to go over at first.
You don't want to sign something without knowing what it is.
Okay, so what am I signing?
In our classroom, we agree that we're going to share.
We're going to listen to each other.
We're going to be kind, and we're going to love one another.
So do you agree to do those things in this classroom?
Yes, yes, I What is your favorite thing to do in Augusta, Kansas?
I like to go fishing.
Well, it's my first time fishing, but I think I got everything I need.
I got a fishing pole, got a body of water with fish in it, and now I just got a cast.
My line.
Here goes nothing.
Now we just wait for the fish.
Now, Casey, you used to be a fifth grade teacher, right?
Correct.
And now you're a kindergarten teacher, so you're not as much in the weeds with all the cool slang that everyone knows.
Yeah, that's right.
But I do have a daughter in sixth grade, and so I'm keeping up with some of the things like six, seven.
Well, I have an idea.
I have a few new slang words that I think I could introduce to your kindergarten.
That would be wonderful, because I kind of think maybe we should start them off fresh.
I think instead of a coming from the top down, let's have a come from the bottom up.
That's how we should do it.
So can I, can I put you on my slang term?
Yes.
Please.
Let me hear.
Okay.
the first one I have is Scarlett.
And this is when you have such a big brain that you need a larger skull to protect it.
What do you think?
I think that's great.
So how would I use it?
Sense.
So you would say like, oh, that kid's got a big Scarlett.
I like that we can use that.
You've got a big Scarlett.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Another one, I'm thinking.
Keever.
Keever.
It's just a cool fever, bits the day before today.
And tomorrow is the time between those.
The time between those two.
Four.
I'm going to be hanging out at two four.
Okay?
Not because you wouldn't say later today.
Later today you don't say it today.
I'm just going to be doing two, four, two, four.
I'm going to be two, four, seven.
zoom zoom.
And that's when you need to pass something off.
The pads in that.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Do you think these are going to be working?
These are perfect.
I can't wait to teach my kindergartners these new words.
What is your favorite thing to do in Augusta, Kansas?
Going to the library.
Hey, I'm, wanting to check out a library book, but there's just so many good ones.
Am I able to check them all out?
You know what, Melvin?
You can take as many as you can carry.
Okay, I'll take them all then.
So, Casey, I noticed in your classroom you got a pretty big TV.
I was wondering, maybe we could watch something on it real quick.
I would love to do that.
What do you want to watch?
I got an idea.
So this is basically just an episode of Melvin Mania, but it's the episode about many we're making right now.
Okay.
So you can obviously see us in the screen.
Look at us there.
So whatever you do, if you want to do something special for the show, it's happening right now for the show.
Like silly.
Yeah.
If you wanna do something silly.
How about you?
You know, I think I want to be serious.
Oh, you.
Oh.
I'm sorry.
Okay.
I think I'm going to make this a serious part of the show.
At least for me, it's going to be scary.
I'll be.
I'll be serious What is your favorite thing to do in Augusta, Kansas?
Go to the skatepark.
What do you skate?
I normally rollerblade, skateboard.
Skateboard.
as a kindergarten teacher, I imagine your class sometimes gets kind of loud.
Do you have any callbacks or anything to help your class get focused?
Oh, yeah.
We've got lots of different callbacks.
Like we say, peanut butter jelly time.
Can I pitch you one?
I would love to hear in your one.
Okay.
So you'll look at the classroom okay.
And you'll just go back and then they'll say back like should we practice that.
Yeah.
Okay.
You ready?
The teacher or the student?
What am I, I'll be the teacher or the teacher.
Yeah.
I'm ready.
All right.
Be talking.
La la la la la la la la.
What is your favorite thing to do in Augusta, Kansas?
Probably go to the Castle Park play at the Castle Park because it's really big and fun and there's a lot to do with your friends.
Go to the castle park.
Does the castle have a king yet?
Nope.
As newly appointed king of Castle Park, I will now be renaming it Melvin's Kingdom.
Thank you.
I promised you'll be a very good king and take care of all of you.
Now, Casey, one of the first things I saw in your classroom was this phone.
But it's a little different than a lot of phones I've seen at other schools because it's mounted on the wall it is mounted on.
So I assume you can make announcements to the school with this?
Yes.
Okay.
Let me take my mike.
Okay.
Taking the microphone.
1010 Augusta students.
We are now going to be having school on two four.
I'm going to a lot of confusion on my side.
Yeah, I don't know if they know what two four is the day between today and tomorrow.
So it's basic.
Still.
There's the.
Why is there a call back feature that they can talk back to.
You like to talk.
Why did you add a microphone to.
The speaker's not in charge.
Okay.
Alice and Ezra, I got a very important question for you.
And I'll start with Alice.
What is your favorite thing to do in Augusta, Kansas?
I like to go downtown and hang out with my cousins.
Rumor has it that this is the best hangout spot.
And downtown Augusta.
Yep.
I checked out.
My favorite thing to do is go to the donut shop.
I will take all of your chocolate long johns.
These look delicious.
I'm going to eat them all right.
Now.
So, Casey, we've been asking a lot of the kids around town, and I want to know your answer to.
Okay, what is your favorite thing to do in Augusta, Kansas?
Oh, there are so many things in Augusta to pick from, but one of my favorite things is walking around the lake and watching all the people on the water, So when you watch the people walk on the water, well, sorry, there are days they walk on water.
Here I am at the lake.
And so far I haven't seen anyone walking or running on the water, so I don't know.
So I was looking at your schedule, Casey.
And one that I really thought was interesting was quiet time.
Should we try this one?
I think we should try it.
Okay.
Here we go.
Okay.
Three.
Two, one.
Can we stop doing it now?
Okay.
Good.
Yeah.
You did a really good job.
What is your favorite thing to do in Augusta, Kansas?
I like to go to my grandpa's museum.
He owns a motorcycle museum.
I don't know if you know this or not, but I'm pretty good at riding motorcycles.
Are you?
I am, you sound sarcastic.
I am.
Casey, can I show you one of my favorite things about your class?
I'd love to see it.
Watch this.
Okay.
Right now, I'm in a classroom.
But now I'm in a bathroom.
Now I'm in a classroom, and now I'm in a bathroom.
It really.
Oh.
What?
Look at this.
I'm in both.
Okay, well, I am actually good at it.
Okay.
Do you believe me or are you?
No, not at all.
Well, I'm.
I'm about to show you that I'm pretty good at it.
Okay.
Okay, fine.
She's got attitude.
I feel like I remember you saying I couldn't ride a motorcycle.
So.
Are you impressed, though?
am.
That's what I thought.
Now, Casey, I know it's been pretty exhausting during this interview.
Yes.
A lot.
And I was thinking maybe you should take the rest of the day off.
That would be amazing.
Are you going to take care of the class?
Yes.
I just got my sublicense, so I thought maybe I could just substitute for you.
Okay, that sounds great.
Do you trust me to sub?
I do, yes, yes I do.
Melvin, What's up?
Class?
It's me, Mr.
Melvin.
I'm going to be substituting for the rest of the day for Mrs.
Davis.
I'm a very good teacher, so you don't need to worry.
This is my first time subbing, though, so please be nice.
I hope you're ready to get your Scarlett on, because it feels like Akira in here.
But don't worry.
The class will be done by two four.
But I will be pasm stuff out now.
Oh, wow.
Tough room.
Okay.
Six.
Seven.
Okay.
There we go.
Now I got you on my side.
All right, well, what we're going to be doing math all day.
Let's get started.
What a great time in Augusta, Kansas.
Thank you to everyone that took the time to talk with us.
What do you think?
Wait, Stevo, I just realized with you dressed up like me and me dressed up as well.
Me, that it looks like there's two Melvins in the studio.
Yeah, I guess that's true.
Are you gonna put your Steve-O costume back on the.
I will in a second, but this is honestly kind of cool.
Try to do exactly what I'm about to do, and it will look like we're both looking in a mirror.
Okay.
But are you going to tell me what you're going to do?
no.
Just trust your Melvin.
Instincts.
Stella, aka Tim the timekeeper.
Can you please play some music as we try to sync up?
got it, Melvin.
It's time to sync up with some tunes.
I. Want my.
To be.
Wow.
That was crazy.
I know.
I can't believe that actually worked.
You might be a better Melvin than me, Stevo.
Yeah, I don't know about that.
Actually.
I think you are.
In fact, let's put it to the test.
I told learned that I would hope or decorate the PBS Kansas coach Garvey children's Education Discovery Center for Halloween.
So while I'm there, you run everything over here as Melvin number two.
Okay, but what if something happens while you're gone?
Just trust your Melvin instincts, and I'll be right back.
Okay then keep your eyes covered.
Keep going, keep going.
Are you ready to see my Halloween decorations?
They're very spooky, I am ready.
Can I cover my eyes?
Yep.
Go for it.
What is it, Melvin?
It's dirty laundry.
Ooh, What's so spooky about dirty laundry?
Melvin?
There's just so much of it.
So the idea is starting.
It is very scary.
Oh, I can tell you're not vibing with this one.
Let's just go look at my next decoration.
Okay, then this one is going to be way better.
Go ahead and uncover your eyes.
Okay.
It's a phone.
It's a phone being called.
Bye.
Scam.
Likely.
Oh, could it be a scam caller?
Oh, you're probably right onto the next one.
Okay I learned I really think this is the one.
It's a menu for a restaurant.
Oh, so many choices.
What will you pick to eat?
just don't know, Melvin.
You know what, then?
Let me just go through a few rapid fire decorations.
And if none of them are your cup of tea, I'll go back to the studio and I'll try something different.
Great.
Let's see what you have.
Shoes that are untied.
A super important appointment that somehow had the date of the appointment rode off.
A broken blender and ice cream.
You really want to make a milkshake with Louis in your car keys?
That's why there's nothing there.
Mysterious mail that needs to be opened.
saying goodbye to someone and then awkwardly seeing them in the parking lot because you parked right next to each other.
Oh, So what do you think?
Well, they're all scary to some extent, but I don't know that they quite work for Halloween decorations.
Does that make sense?
Yeah.
I'm following.
Let me head back to the studio, and I think I know how to fix this.
I'll be right back.
So, Melvin, how did decorating the center for Halloween go?
bad.
Steve-O, I'm getting to the point where I don't think I know how to celebrate Halloween.
I mean, at first it was just the spooky, scary camera show, but with these decorations, I just.
Wait.
Where's my desk?
well, I just thought with you being gone and me being dressed like you, I could bring it over here to be more like Melvin.
but I'm Melvin, But you told me to trust my Melvin instincts.
And those instinct said to move the desk.
I know, but I what's going on now?
I think someone's at the door.
Okay.
Can someone get it?
echo tweet.
Hey, buddy.
Listen, this is not a great time.
We are trying to figure out how to celebrate Halloween correctly, and nothing is working.
Can you come back in a few minutes?
Steve, I think it's time that we bring in a Halloween expert.
We really need help right now.
I think we might have the same person in mind.
want to say it at the same time.
Let's do it.
Ghost man.
Ghost man did a drawing that was sent in by one of our viewers to put in our creator box.
And if you're interested in having your drawing feature on the show, you can email us at Melvin.
At CP it's dot org.
Ghost man was sent in by Smith from Wichita.
Let's have Steve.
I'll put Ghost Man in the creator box and hopefully he can help us save Halloween.
Welcome to the show, Ghost man.
We need a lot of help.
me guess.
You tried to do too many things for Halloween and you have no idea how to celebrate Yes, exactly.
How did you know?
Melvin.
I know everything.
Plus, I was feeling a little extra ghostly today, so I've been spooking around the show all day.
If you knew that, why didn't you say anything?
was a ghost, so I could only observe such works until someone talks to me.
That's like ghost rule number one.
Melvin.
That's right.
I forgot about that rule.
So, do you have any ideas of how we can fix Halloween?
But first things first.
We need to get into the Halloween spirit.
Where's your costume?
Well, I was dressed up like Steve-O, but I took it off so we could do our local town on the ground segment.
Why don't you put the costume back?
All of I would, but it's a lot of makeup, and it took like six hours to put it all on.
that's fine, I can wait.
Time isn't really even a thing for me anyway.
You know, because I'm a ghost.
So six hours will fly by.
There's one other problem, though.
Well, I didn't exactly put on the makeup myself.
My friend and today's guest, JK did it, and I'm worried she's going to be upset that I took all the makeup off.
would she be obsessed?
And I'm done.
What do you think?
It looks so good.
I love it.
All right.
Okay.
Don't take it off.
Yeah.
It's Halloween, and even if you do your segment on the local town, you can leave it on.
So because it's Halloween, people will understand that you're dressed up.
Okay.
Yo.
That's rough.
Melvin.
You literally do the opposite of what you said.
I always expected it to be bad, but.
Whoa!
know, I just forgot, okay.
Do you think she's going to be upset?
I don't know why you gotta call her up.
Why not?
While you do that.
I'll head over to the PBS kids.
Is Klausner Garvey children's education discovery Center and help decorate the center for Halloween.
Then you can focus on your costume, and we can both get things done at the same You would really do that for me?
I love decorating Halloween, and I'm pretty good at that too.
So how lit up will be?
Easy peasy.
Oh, her that way.
Well, would you call Jason?
Well, here goes nothing.
Today's guest is Jake Cornell.
Jake is an expert cosmetologist, which means she's professionally trained to perform various beauty treatments on people's hair, skin and nails, including myself.
Please help me in welcoming Jessie to the show.
Of course.
The TV is a ghost.
I should have no.
Hi, Jason.
Welcome to the show.
Hey, Melvin.
It's great to be here.
Wait.
Where's your Steve-O costume?
I can explain.
I just wait, do you remember how long it took me to do all of that makeup?
course six No, Melvin, it took 16 hours.
You fell asleep for ten of it.
And then I was telling them.
You can not do that in my driveway.
Nobody.
Okay.
Well, that would explain why.
I don't remember a lot of it.
So would you be willing to do it again?
fall asleep this time?
I okay fine.
You can come.
But I got a couple of clients here I gotta check with.
But you gotta get here quick.
Of course I'll head that way right now.
Jason.
Jason!
I'm here.
Are you ready for me?
Sure.
Let me ask my other clients if you can join.
Do you guys want Melvin to join us Yeah.
Yeah.
That would be fine.
Come on in.
Okay, good.
Let me just make a quick phone call real quick, though.
I'll be right back.
Hey, ghost man.
I'm just about to start putting on my Steve-O makeup.
How is everything going with Lynn?
We just got stuff out and we're about to start decorating.
You think of what I'm thinking.
I think so.
Halloween module.
No.
This is looking so good, Toya.
I cannot wait for my turn.
His last.
I'm not.
Yes yeah I okay.
You laid on my face painting 16 hours.
So you want to ask him what he wants to get?
But do you want to get.
I want to be painted like Steve-O.
Need.
Well, look who it is.
It's Tim, I mean, Stella, this bigger.
Great costume.
Tim.
you've had a good Halloween too.
Have you had any trick or treaters come to the Oh, no.
Can someone please check and see if the bear that came earlier to trick or treat is still at the door?
Be honest with me.
How long have you been standing there?
hours.
man, you are patient.
Tim.
I gotta get this guy some candy, so we gotta start wrapping up.
But before we do the after song, let me get out my costume.
Real quick because I cannot play piano as Steve-O.
No no no no no!
Melvin, wait!
What?
Man, I did it again.
I changed out of my costume too.
So now we can go see J.C.
together.
I don't really think that fixes anything, Tim, but I'm glad I at least don't have to go alone now.
Anyway, you ready to wrap up the show?
do it.
It's time to end the show.
We want to see you go.
We really have to say we have the perfect day.
All right, send the chorus now.
You're right.
Melvin mania.
Melvin mania.
Inside time.
It's time to go.
You're at Melvin Mania now.
In mania.
It's time.
It's time to go.
It's time to say goodbye.
I think I might just cry.
For Melvin and the crew.
It's time to say I do.
That means goodbye.
You're at Melvin mania.
Melvin mania.
It's time to say goodbye.
You're at Melvin mania.
Melvin radio.
It's time to say goodbye.
All right, well, I'll see you in the next episode.
Bye bye.
