Ava is spending the afternoon playing video games with her friend Cleo.
They play online together after finishing their chores and homework.
One of their favorite things is to have their characters match.
Ava and Cleo noticed the game has a cool new outfit they want to buy.
Ava wants to be responsible and ask her parents first.
They say it's okay, but remind Ava she's taken money several times this month from her car fund to pay for outfits.
Her parents say a car is something she will need when she gets a job next year.
So saving money now is a good idea rather than spending it on something she wants, like a video game outfit.
Ava decides to save her money instead and shares with Cleo the difference between needs and wants.
Cleo completely understands and says, “Hey, that's a good idea.
” A car is something they will both need soon and it will help them get around when they can drive.
