[drum roll] [festive music] ♪ ♪ - So all this circus stuff is for a surprise party for Mr.
Carrot?
- Yes!
Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy!
- Jet, you have to remember not to tell your dad about the surprise.
- Oh, I promise I won't.
I won't say a thing.
Hey, there's my dad.
all: Jet.
- Hey, kids.
What you up to?
Oh, I know.
I'll go outside and see for myself.
- Oh, no, we have to make sure he doesn't see all our circus stuff.
- Right.
Then he'll know the surprise.
- Wait, I have an idea.
- Huh?
Hi, kids.
all: Hi, Mr.
Carrot.
- Well, you kids sure look like you're having fun.
- Yeah, Dad.
Totally nothing going on in the backyard today.
Whoa.
[all groaning] [all sigh] - Yay, Mr.
Carrot didn't see any of our circus stuff.
- Wow, Jet, I'm impressed you didn't tell your dad.
- Yeah, I sure am learning how to keep a secret better.
Dad has no idea we're planning a circus surprise party for him right here.
- Huh, Jet and his friends are planning a surprise party for me?
I was wondering what all that circus stuff was doing in the yard.
I'll just tell them that I know what they're doing, so I can help them.
We can all surprise me.
- Oh, hold oh, Carrot.
My advice, don't let the kids know that you know.
They've been working so hard planning your party.
- Ah, that's so nice of them.
Okay, I won't tell them.
It is a special birthday.
It's not every day you turn 250 Bortronian years old.
- Oh, you're still a chicken from the spring in my eyes.
- Ah, thanks, hon.
I hope I can keep the secret from the kids about knowing their secret.
Ugh, I have trouble keeping secrets.
- Like father, like son.
- Like father, like son what?
Nothing about a secret, right?
Probably about us both loving prune juice with lemon squeezed in it.
both: Exactly!
all: Tables!
both: Uh, chairs.
I mean, cheers.
- [chuckles] - [groans] This isn't working.
I can't get as high as I thought I would.
Guess I can't be the circus star I want to be.
Whoa!
[chuckles] - I know how you feel, Mindy.
[cat meows] I thought I could hit the ball way higher than this, but it falls right back down.
- Here goes, watch me flip in midair.
[groans] Whoa.
Man, I've been practicing hard.
I thought I could at least do one flip, but I didn't get enough time in the air.
- It's true, Sunspot.
We just can't jump as high as we could on Bortron 7.
- We're all just falling back to the ground way faster than we want to.
It's probably the weather.
- It's not because of the weather, Mindy.
It's because of gravity.
- Oh, of course!
Earth gravity, that wondrous, exciting thing.
- Is gravity that thing that makes things fall back to the ground?
- Yes, but I think perhaps a song may help explain it better.
Sunspot.

- [laughs] Like father, like son.
- Hmm, I wonder if I could do my famous circus act I used to do on Bortron 7.
Whoo!
The Carrot Many-Flips, Disco Dance, Mid-Air Adventure.
- Well, I'm--I'm sure you can, but since it's been a while, maybe you should build up to it.
You know, start out just trying a few flips.
- Good idea.
I'll do my usual seven flips.
- Or fewer.
Fewer.
- Whoops, gotta get my Bortronian flipping hat.
[trumpets] Here goes nothing.
[groaning] Strange, I didn't get my usual seven flips.
Huh, what did I do wrong?
Why did I fall to Earth so fast?
- It's because of gravity.
That's the strong force and pulls people and objects back to Earth fast.
- Oh, right.
Well, I guess no more flips for my birthday.
[trumpets] Oh, well.
Aw, Sunspot, you always know how to cheer me up.
- Hmm, I have an idea.
We should find somewhere that doesn't have as much-- uh, what's it called?-- gravity to keep us down.
- Good idea, Jet.
It'll be way easier to do our surprise circus for your dad on a place with less gravity.
- Hmm, but where is there less gravity?
- Mercury.
- The comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko!
- Edmonton, Alberta.
- Or the Moon.
Our moon.
It has way less gravity than earth.
- Right, the Moon.
Of course.
- Works for me.
- Me too.
A surprise party on the Moon?
What fun.
Less gravity means I can jump higher and stay up longer.
- Exactly.
More hang time.
Perfect.
- Okay, okay, so now we just need a secret codename for our plan, like codename Less Gravity on the Moon for a Secret Surprise Party for Carrot.
- Kind of long.
How about codename Secret Space Lunar Surprise?
- How about codename Moon Circus.
all: Yeah, codename Moon Circus.
[upbeat music] ♪ ♪ - [laughing] - Wait!
- Whoa!
- We have to load all this circus stuff in the wagon to bring it to the Moon without Carrot seeing it.
- Hmm.
- [squeaking] - Really, Sunspot?
A bunch of hats?
- Huh?
Huh?
Hmm.
Hat.
Hm.
And another hat.
Another hat.
Oh.
Oh, yep.
Another hat.
And another hat.
Another hat.
Hi, kids.
Look, I'm wearing a lot of hats.
- Uh-huh.
You sure are.
- Hey, Mr.
Propulsion, I just had an idea.
How 'bout we all take a fun drive around the solar system?
It could help us take our minds off of Earth's gravity.
- What a fun idea, Sean.
And so educational.
- Yeah, who's ready to learn?
Pops, wanna go to space?
- Yes, I'm ready.
- Remember, do not tell your dad about the birthday Moon surprise.
- Moon sunrise?
all: Yes, Moon sunrise.
- ♪ Five, four, three, two, one ♪ ♪ Doors are shut, engines on ♪ ♪ Everybody in their place, let's go into outer space ♪ - ♪ Ready, jet, go ♪ - Ahhh!
[whooshing] - Ah, so relaxing to just go for a drive around the neighborhood.
- Hon, looks like we're flying toward the Moon.
Hey, hon, it even looks like we're going to land on the Moon.
- Oh-oh, yeah!
- Yeah!
- Hey, hon, it looks like we did land on the Moon.
That wasn't much of a drive.
Oh, this some kind of Earthie surprise?
- Now no peeking.
all: Surprise!
Happy Moon Circus party!
- Oh, what, for me?
A Moon Circus party?
Oh, that's so wonderful and so lower gravity.
Wow, all righty then.
Let's get this Moon Circus party started.
- Look how much lower this gravity is.
[exciting music] ♪ ♪ - Boo-ya, lower gravity.
♪ ♪ - [clears throat] Earthies and Bortronians, kids of all planets, you are about to experience the one and only Carrot perform his Carrot Multi-Flips, Disco Dance, Mid-Air Adventure.
all: Carrot!
Carrot!
Carrot!
[techno music] - Wow.
- Ooh.
♪ ♪ - [groans] all: Happy birthday, Carrot!
[all cheering] [upbeat music] ♪ ♪ - Okay, you guys, it's time to make our poster for the big DSA Earth Day Celebration.
Any ideas?
- Oh, I know.
How about we make the poster really scientific?
Like, with a really cool chart or a table?
- Or we can give it a Commander Cressida theme.
- Or we could make the poster really glittery.
- Because that'll make the poster better?
- Because glitter makes everything better.
[bell dings] - [chuckles] Wow, guys!
Those are all great ideas!
- Jet?
Sunspot?
What are you doing?
- I'm going for a balloon ride along with Sunspot, who is a balloon.
[chuckles] [air whooshes, sputters] - Wow, cool balloon, Jet.
- Thanks.
It's Bortronian.
Hey, cool toasters.
[Sunspot squeaks] - Uh, they're called "posters," Jet.
- Ah, right.
Ha.
We get those words mixed up at my house all the time.
[ding] - Ha.
- Oh.
- Yeah.
[both chuckle] - So what are the posters for?
- We're trying to come up with poster ideas for the DSA Earth Day celebration.
- Ooh!
Really?
Really?
I wanna help.
I love Earth Day.
Wait, what's Earth Day again?
- It's the day when everyone celebrates how great Earth is.
- How remembers how important it is to help the environment, by doing things like planting trees, picking up trash, and recycling.
- Oh, now I get it.
It's like Bortron 7 Day, except we celebrate by doing this special Bortronian folk dance.
Sunspot.
- [squeals] - [grunting] - [squeals] - [grunting] - [squeals] - Huh?
Oh, the balloon.
But a special poster is cool too, because planet Earth is really special.
- [squealing] - That's right, Jet.
Wait, what exactly is special about Earth?
- Well, for starters, Earth has water.
It helps things grow, like those flowers.
- Water, great.
Okay, what else?
- Ooh, ooh, ooh.
Earth also has those weird cats with fluffy tails that live in trees.
- [chittering] - Um, they're called squirrels, Jet.
And that's Floyd.
- Earth has all kinds of living things, plants and animals.
- All right!
What else can we see?
- Well, we can't see it, but...[inhales] Earth has lots of sweet air.
- Yep, air is definitely special.
[air whooshes] 'Cause it's what we breathe.
- [squeals] - Hey, what if we go to outer space so we can get a better look at the Earth?
- What a great idea, Mindy.
Then we can really see how special Earth is.
- Oh, did someone say "space trip to view the Earth and see how special it is?"
- Um, something like that, but-- - Come on, Sean.
You know you want to.
- [sighs] - It'll be fun.
- Yeah, do we really need this much perspective?
- ♪ Five, four, three, two, one ♪ ♪ Doors are shut, engines on ♪ ♪ Everybody in their place, let's go into outer space ♪ - ♪ Ready, jet, go ♪ - [screaming] [whooshing] [exciting music] - Well, what do you see, kids?
- I see the North Pole covered in snow and a desert covered in sand.
- Makes sense, Sydney.
Earth has locations with completely opposite weather and temperatures.
- The North Pole is icy and cold, and the desert is dry and hot.
- And life is found at both of them, like seals at the North Pole, and cactus plants in the desert.
It's the ideal temperature.
Not too hot and not too cold.
It's... all: Just right.
- Ha, wow.
You Earthies are right, Earth is amazing!
Okay, my turn.
Wow, there are so many strange and unusual creatures on Earth.
[birds chirping] And they're doing such unusual things.
There really are a lot of plants on Earth.
I always forget that.
- Silly, of course there are plants everywhere.
Like the flowers I saw before.
And bushes.
And trees.
- Yes, on Earth there are even plants underwater.
Shall we take a look?
- Wait, what?
- Whee!
- You're right, Celery.
There's even plants underwater, like seaweed.
- Wow.
So many plants.
- Yep, the Earth is full of forests.
They help us breathe.
- What?
Forests help us breathe?
- They make oxygen.
That's a special something in Earth's air that we need to breathe.
- No way!
- Yeah!
Plants give off oxygen, Jet.
- They do?
Does that mean they can breathe?
Wait, they don't have noses.
How can plants breathe if they don't have noses?
- Well, that's true.
But they can do something sort of like breathing using their leaves.
- Ooh, right, Sydney.
And the air that plants breathe out is just the kind of air that we need to breathe in.
all: Cool!
- So can anyone think of any other reasons why Earth is special?
- Oh, meatballs and footie pajamas.
- And it's where we all live.
- [chuckles] - That's a great one, Mindy.
Earth is special because it's habitable.
- Habit-a-bubble?
- [belches] - Habitable.
It means everything is just right for people, animals and plants to live there.
- And it's the only habitable planet in our solar system.
- That we know of.
Wow, good old Earth.
So habit-a-bubble.
- It's "habitable," Jet.
[brakes squeal] - All right, everybody.
Pencils down!
Let's see those posters.
- Earth is home to both land and water.
- Earth's temperature is just right, and it's home to my favorite thing, Commander Cressida comics.
- [clears throat] Welcome to my poster.
It shows all the different things that live on Earth.
Like plants and fish and Floyds.
- What did you do, Mindy?
- My poster shows me and Sunspot here on Earth, 'cause Earth is where we both live.
It's habitable, which means everything is just right for us to live here.
- Wow, they're all so wonderful, kids.
And so glittery.
- [chuckles] - [squeals] - Yeah, too bad we can't turn all the posters into one big poster.
- [gasps] Or can we?
- [squeals] [upbeat music] ♪ ♪ all: Next stop, the DSA!
[cheering] - Huh?
- Yeah.
- Let's go!
- Okay, Sean-zo.

[indistinct chatter] - Welcome, one and all, to the DSA Earth Day celebration!
Plant a tree, pick up trash, and of course enjoy the posters.
Take it away, Peterson.
- My name is Planet Earth, third planet from the Sun.
There's other planets out there, but I'm the number one.
I'm the place you call your home, so treat me really well.
Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Conservation sure is swell.
[applause] Oh, yes!
And to end my tune, please say hello to my dog next to me who is the Moon.
[crowd awws] [applause] - Yes!
- Well done, son.
I mean, Planet Earth.
And good job, Cody.
I mean, ha, the Moon.
[Cody whimpers] - Okay, Earthies, here's my poster.
It makes slightly burned, pickle-flavored bread.
And it shoots them out.
Enjoy.
- Um... [quirky music] ♪ ♪ - [chuckles] Yes, yes.
- Propulsion, you do know the difference between a toaster and a poster?
- [chuckles] Good one, Mr. Peterson.
Everyone knows a toaster is what you hang on the wall.
- Well, now that we've all seen the toasters-- I mean, posters-- oh, wait a minute.
[dramatic music] [crowd gasps] What on Earth?
♪ ♪ [cheers and applause] [all laughing, cheering] - [gasps] - ♪ It's nice you have an Earth Day ♪ ♪ But if you're asking me ♪ ♪ Every day is Earth Day ♪ ♪ As far as I can see ♪ ♪ This planet is so perfect ♪ ♪ It's sweet from end to end ♪ ♪ It's not too hot and not too cold ♪ ♪ In a very pleasant blend ♪ ♪ Can't even think of a better place ♪ ♪ The answer should be clear ♪ ♪ 'Cause planet Earth has air to breathe ♪ ♪ It's got an atmosphere ♪ ♪ Yes every plant and flower ♪ ♪ Each leafy, shady glen ♪ ♪ Has green stuff growing everywhere ♪ ♪ All making oxygen ♪ [all breathe deeply] ♪ You think there's something better?
