Thank you for watching.
Tennessee Scholars Bowl.
Hi, I'm Frank Murphy.
This is the academic tournament with schools from all over the viewing area, competing in our 40th year of competition for the Frank Miller Memorial Trophy and a cash prize that will describe at halftime.
We are in the second round, the threshold of 32.
And today's game is Morristown Hamblin East High School versus Science Hill High School.
Morristown, obviously in Morristown, Science Hill is in Johnson City.
In case you're keeping track at home, let's say hi to the players from Morristown, starting with Kingston Crockett, who's a junior this year.
Kingston welcome back to the show.
Congratulations on winning your last episode.
Tell us about yourself.
My favorite candy bar is Trix.
Oh, that's a good one.
It's not the same as Kit-Kat at all, right?
Not at all, No, I'm actually.
So Twix is more like a cookie.
That's a candy bar.
Yeah, right.
I get them mixed up sometimes, so that's why I'm asking.
Let's say hi to Dorian Carpenter, who's a sophomore.
What about yourself, Dorian?
My favorite candy bar is Reese's.
Is that really technically a bar?
I mean, it's it's whatever it wants to be.
There's so many different varieties of this.
I used to like the cups, but I don't like them anymore.
Now that they have all the better tasting shapes, you know, whatever it is, pick a shape Easter egg, Christmas tree.
I don't care.
I like them better than the cups.
Let's say hi.
And a team captain who's a sophomore.
That's Hayden Hall.
So, Hayden, you're going to answer bonuses or defer by name to team like.
Like I did the last time.
What else is new with you?
My name's Hayden Hall, and I like Kit Kats.
Oh, dude, can we have an argument?
A debate between Twix and Kit Kat over here?
They get better.
I mean, there's no debate.
Okay, Yeah, let's see, I. Oh, boy.
Hopkins seems to have issue with that.
You're a junior.
What about you, Boyd?
My favorite candy is black licorice.
You know, very few of us like black licorice.
Finally, some with class.
Absolutely.
I like all the horrible candies that everyone else hates.
Like, Exactly.
You know, circus peanuts and licorice and all the other popular good things.
Yeah, that's all good stuff.
Yeah, black jelly beans are so good.
Let's say hi to the alternates and coaches for Morristown Hamblin East, that is Caleb Renner and Melanie Diaz.

It on an experienced squad from Science Hill High School, one of the many schools that has put multiple teams into our tournament.
And they've shuffled the deck once again as we've got our starters this time.
First up is Arushi Raj, who is in 12th grade.
Arushi hi.
Tell us about yourself.
I think Thomas Jefferson is overrated.
Okay.
And can you defend that?
I mean, he's very highly rated.
So I mean I could argue that the Beatles are overrated, even if they're number one, they would still be, in my opinion, overrated, right?
Same, same concept or different.
I think that his president anti was not as much of a success.
For example, the embargo act really like harmed the U.S. economy.
So I don't think that's something of a good president.
Do you have interest in writing some questions for scholars, both after you graduate?
I would love to, because most of us don't even know what you're talking about.
You can help us out with that.
Let's say hi to Selena Wheeler, who's in 12th grade this year.

Let's say hi to the team captain.
