Interviewed by Rick Breitenfeld in 1979, author, philanthropist, teacher, naval officer and political advisor, James A. Michener. His book “Tales of the South Pacific” won the 1948 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and was later adapted to the musical, South Pacific. Michener wrote more than 40 books, most of which were fictional, historical, family sagas in geographic locales.
