Do you like sharing with your friends and neighbors?
Well Omu finds out she does.
She has just cooked up a thick red stew in a huge pot that she was saving for her dinner.
Doesn't that sound yummy?
As she sat down to read a book, the scent from the stew wafted throughout the entire neighborhood, and the smell was so delicious that ll her neighbors one by one knock on her door hoping to try some.
There was a little boy, a policewoman, a hot dog vendor, and many others, even the mayor, if you can imagine that.
Omu shares her stew with all of them, until she has nothing left for her dinner.
Well, as you can imagine, she was really sad about this.
But later that evening there was a knock on her door.
Guess what?
All the neighbors she had shared her delicious yummy stew with have come, and they brought food of their own to share with her and thank her for her kindness.
The pictures in this Caldecott winning book are colorful cut paper designs created with acrylic paint, china markers, pastels, and as you can see, old book clippings.
