SO WE ALSO HAVE FIRST DEVELOPMENT WHERE ADULTS DOM LEARN A KI REAR IN HEALTH WEAR, MEDICAL BILLING, PHARMACY TECHS IN SPECIFICALLY AND THEN WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT THIS PROGRAM IS IT IS TUITION FREE SO AN INDIVIDUAL COULD COME, GRADUATE WITH THEIR SERT IF I CAUTION, THAT HAS NATIONAL RECOGNITION AND THEN WE ALSO SUPPORT THE CAREER PLACEMENT PROCESS ALL WITH NO OUT-OF-POCKET DEBT.
SO I MEAN, THOSE ARE TWO IN FLAGSHIP PROGRAMS WE ALSO HAVE OUR COMMERCIAL SCREEN PRINTING BUSINESS WHERE WE SPRINT ON ANYTHING THAT COULD BE LAID FLAT, T-SHIRT, HOODIE, FOLDERS, THEN THE REVENUE COMES BACK IN TO SUPPORT SOUR MISSION HERE AND PUBLIC AGENCY WHICH IS OUR HUMAN CENTER DESIGN CONSULTANCY WHICH LEVERAGES THE HUMAN CENTER DESIGN PROCESS THROUGH AN EQUITY LENS TO APPROACH COMPLEX COMMUNITY CHALLENGES.
SO YOU KNOW, WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK THE RESTORATION PROJECT, AND WEST MICHIGAN WORKS, AND WE ALSO ARE DOING NATIONAL WORK AS WELL.
WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT HOW OUR MISSION IS INTEGRATED INTO A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT THINGS HERE.

SOME IT IS A WORD THAT MEANS PURPOSE SO IT IS AFRICAN-AMERICAN CULTURAL ART CENTER HERE IN GRAND RAPIDS AND OUR PURPOSE IS REALLY FOCUSED ON YOU KNOW COMMUNITY CENTERED SOLUTIONS TO COMMUNITY IDENTIFIED PROBLEMS SO ALL ABOUT BUILDING PEOPLE DEVELOPING OPPORTUNITIES SO OUR VISION TOYINGS BECOME WORLD CLASS CENTER THAT WILL BE MORE FOST DEST MISSION FOR RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PRESERVATION AND CELEBRATION OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN CULTURE AND SOUR VISION IS TO ACTUALLY BUILD A TANGIBLE SPACE WHERE ALL THAT CAP HAPPEN HERE IN GRAND RAPIDS ANDING THAT IS OUR CAPITAL PROJECT, AND SO IR PROGRAMMING FOCUS A LOT ON EQUITY AND ARTS, CONNECTING PEOPLE TO EACH OTHER AND JUST FOCUSING ON THE ISSUES THAT MATTER TO COME THINS OF COLLEGE.

>> SO I HAVE THE HUMAN INDUSTRIES WHICH IS AN INDUSTRY ROOTED IN PRESENTING AND ENDING RELATIONSHIP ABUSE SO ME LOOK AT OUR COMMUNITY AND REALLY ENGAGE TO HAVE A PLACE OF REFUGE AND HOPE.
A WE WOULD BE PLACES TO BE WELCOMING TO ALL SURVIVORS AND OUR COMMUNITY AND AND TON DO THAT ON THE SPECTRUM FROM PREVENTION WORK, SO WE DO THAT WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS AROUND COOL IT COUNTY AND ENGAGING IN EDUCATION AND TO PREVENT ABUSE AND DEVELOP FRONTTIVE FACTORS FOR HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, THEN, MOST RECENTLY, HAVE LAUNCHED GENDER K TY READING PROGRAM THIS PAST YEAR AND ARE EXCOOL ITED TO ENGAGE WITH A NUMBER OF COMMUNITY PARTNERS AROUND THAT AND YOU KNOW THE LITERACY CENTER HERE AND WE WORKED A LOT WITH AWA RECENTLY TO CONNECT YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH A PANDEMIC MAKING THOSE CREATE CHANGES AND THEN, THEN WE HAVE A SHELTER, THAT WE SERVE OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH AND HAVE 14 ROOMS THAT CAN ACCOMMODATE UP TO 56 INDIVIDUALS IN OUR SHELTER SPACE, SO WE PROVIDE 24-7 ACCESS TO THAT THROUGH A CRISIS HOTLINE NUMBER, AND THEN PROVIDE THE OPTION OF SAFE SPACE AND SUPPORT AND AT KATE SY SERVICE AROUND THAT AND THEN YOU ALSO DON'T NEED TO TAB PART OF THE SHELTER TO GET SUPPORT SERVICES HERE FROM OUR AAMAZING TEAM OF ADVOCATES WHO ARE WILLING TO WALK WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING RELATIONSHIP ABUSE AND THEN HAVE CREATE SOLUTIONS AND CONNECT TO RESOURCES, WHERE THANK INFUL WE HAVE A COMMUNITY FILLED WITH A NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE PARTNER WITH AND TO NETWORK THOSE RESOURCES FOR THE PEOPLE WE SERVE EACH DAY.

SO DISABILITY NETWORK LIKE IS A CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING WHERE WE'RE ONE OF 15CIL'S IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN AND OUR FOCUS COMES OUT OF PENNSYLVANIA LIVING MOVEMENT THAT CAME ABOUT IN THE 196'S IN THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT AND WE FOCUS ON THE IDEA IN THE PHILOSOPHY THAT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES KNOW BEST ABOUT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THAT THEY UNDERSTAND AND BARRIERS.
AND THEY SHOULD BE THE EXPERT IN THEIR OWN LIFE AND SELF-DETERMINATION.
REASONABLE REFLY IN THE FACE OF MEDICAL MODEL WE'RE IN AND THE DOCTOR AND THE THERAPISTS COME UP WITH A PLANS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO MAKE THEIR LIVES BETTER.

>> WELL, I GUESS, I GUESS, IN A PANDEMIC THAT CERTAINLY I WOULD MAIN GIN LOOKS A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY THAN FOR OTHERS.
THEN I THINK IT REALLY IS BEING OPEN AND LEARNING PRIOR TO THIS.
RIGHT?
SO THERE ARE DEGREES AND THINGS THAT YOU CAN GO GET AND TO BE A GOOD LEADER BUT REALLY IT IS WORKING WITH EXCEPTIONAL LEADERS AT LEAST FOR ME, MY PREPARATION WAS HAVING INCREDIBLE ROLE MODELS WHO SUPERVISED ME.
I HAD STRONG WOMEN LEADERS WHO HELPED GUIDE ME AND TEACH ME SO I HAVE ABOUT A DECADE WORKING IN CHILD WELL FIR AND GRAND RAPIDS AREA AND THEY PREPARED ME.
THEY PUT ME IN THE PRESSURE COUP COOKER AND GUIDE MED, AND SO, I HAVE THEM TO THANK FOR MY PREPARATIONS.
YEAH.
YOU HAVE TO BE OPEN.
YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO PEOPLE.
YOU HAVE TO HAVE A VISION.
AND I THINK THAT WAS MY PREPARATION, BUT IN A PANDEMIC, KNOW?

FIRST AM FROM GRASP, I AM BORN AND RAISED THEN I BELIEVE THAT MY LIVING EXPERIENCED COMBINED WITH YOU KNOW, ED "AND ARE FESSIONAL EXPERIENCES HAVE COME TOGETHER TO MAKE THIS MOVEMENT POSSIBLE TO ME AND GOING BACK TO CHILDHOOD AND ADD I HAVE A PERSONAL BOARD A ATH THESE ARE FOLKS THAT ARE WISE IN CERTAIN AREA AND MORE EXPERIENCES IN OTHERS THAN MYSELF IN A LOT OF WAS.
THEY SEE SAN HELP TO CULTIVATE LEADERSHIP WITH ME FOR SOME SOME TIME.
ONE OF WHICH IS DANIEL WOMEN ARE WHICHIAMS WHO IS THE FORMER PRESIDENT AND SO WHO IS HERE AND NOW FOR ME, HAVING THE PRIVILEGE OF WORKING WITH HIM AND WALKING WITH HIM FROM THE LAST SIX YEARS AND WATCHING YOU KNOW.
HOW HE LEADS AP OBSERVING AND ENGAGING IN COACHING SESSION I THIS THINK HAVE HELPED FOR ME TO BE HERE AND I WOULD ALSO SAY WITH ME BEING A FIRST TIME EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR I COULDN'T THINK OF A BETTER ORGANIZATION TO DO IT WITH.
THROUGH THE VALUES I SHOULD SAY, AROUND EQUITY AND AUTHENTICITY AND COME IN THE IN HOW, IN HOW THAT IS PREX HE ISED EVERYDAY, NOT ONLY THROUGH THE STUDENT STAFF BEHAVIORS BUT ALSO IT IS BAKED IN A THE MISSION AND I THINK THAT THAT IS VERY CONSISTENT WITH MY OWN VALUES, SO I WOULD NOT BE HERE AND PRIT NOT FOR THE COME IN THIS U.S.

I HAVE ONLY BEEN IN GRAND RAPIDS FOR TWO MONTHS AND I CAN REALLY SEE, YOU KNOW, THE CHOM IN THIS TY MOTHER BEHIND SOME OF THESE INITIATIVES AND SOME OF THESE BUSINESSES AND SO, AND SO AS I SAID BEFORE, I COKE THE SENTIMENTS I HAVE BEEN IN THE POSITION FOR I THINK UNDER THREE WEEKS AT THIS POINT SO VERY VERY, VERY NEW AND I WILL ALSO SAY THAT OUR WORKING BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS BEEN PHENOMENAL IN NOT ONLY GIVING ME UP TO SPEED WITH WHAT THE ORGANIZATION HAS DONE SO FAR AND WHERE IT IS GOING BUT ALSO JUST INTRODUCING KNOW MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY AND THAT I GUESS ALONG WITH OUR MISSION AND OUR VISION TO BE SO FOCUSED.
AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND THAT KIND OF A THING AND SO I WILL SAY THAT I BELIEVE MY PHYSICIAN IS A LITTLE UNIQUE AND IN THE SENSE THAT THE CENTER IS A HUER ORGANIZATION AND IT IS A SMALLER ORGANIZATION AND SO SOMETHING THAT I AM REALLY THANKFUL FOR THAT IS COMING INTO THIS POSITION, I REALLY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO A BUILD A TEAM THAT WILL MAKE THE DREAM HAPPEN.
AND SO WITH THAT, YOU KNOW, I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING A ROBUST INTERNSHIP PROGRAM AND ENGAGING MEMBER AND GETTING VOLUNTEERS INVOLVE THEN AGAIN ALL OF THAT BEES BEING SEN STERD ON PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT, YOU KNOW, EDGE FLOY BOOED BY THE ORC MYZATION THESE ARE PEOPLE OUT OF THE GOODNESS ANG THE GOODNESS OF THEIR HEARTS AND WANT TO BE A PART OF THAT.
THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BE INVOLVED AND SO, AND SO AGAIN, JUST BEING REALLY THANKFUL FOR THE GRAND RAPIDS COMMUNITY AND INVITING MORE PEOPLE TO COME IN AND THEN HAVING A REALLY NICE BOARD THAT HAS HELP MED FROM DAY ONE.

AS YOU ARE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE EFFECTS OF AN ORGANIZATION BUT WHAT I SEE OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
THINK THIS IS A STRENGTH OF WEST MICHIGAN AND IT IS RELATIONSHIP, AND WHAT WE ARE AS ORGANIZATIONS AND BECAUSE LIKE SY REAR SAID.
LIKE EVEN BEING NEW, SHE IS SURROUNDED BY BOARD THAT IS SUPPORTIVE AND HOW WE HAVE PARTNERSHIPS WITHIN OUR ORGANIZATION IN TURNLY AND THAT WE GET TO DEVELOP BUT ALSO EXTERNALLY NUM KNOW, I HAVE RUN INTO VOLUNTEERS IN SURVIVOR LEADERS AND STAFF AND BOARD MEMBERS WHO ARE PART OF OUR STORY AND, AND, YOU OH, AS I PREPARE, YOU THINK IT THIS IS POSTURE OF LISTENING THAT ALLOWS ME TO TEN NEAR A PLACE OF CULL STRAIGHTING WHAT IS NEXT AND, AND, RECOGNIZING THAT WE HAVE SOME TIME SANSOM INTERESTING CONSTRAINTS TO DEAL WITH AND AS WE TAKE THOSE NEXT STEPS BUT YOU OH, IT IS ONE DAY AT A TIME OF SEEING THE STRENGTH THAT WE HAVE, THEN, KNOW, AS WE MOVE FORWARD, SAYING WHAT ARE THE THING WE HOPE TO CHANGE.
WHEN WE ARE NOW HE, AT SAFE HAVEN LOOKING AT AND DEEP PROBLEM OF VIOLENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY AND KNOWING THAT, THAT THAT IS RIGHTED IN LIKE HISTORY AND IN TICK AND SYSTEMS AND ACCESS FOR PEOPLE AND TO GAIN RESOURCES AND THINGS THAT HAVE DISRUPPED THEIR ABILITY TO LIVE LIFE IN A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP, AND SO YOU KNOW, THAT ENGAGEMENT MEANS I PARTNER WITH A LOT OF ORGANIZATIONS OF PEOPLE AND SO, YOU TOW, AS WE MOVE FORWARD, I AM EXCITED TO DEVELOP THOSE PARTNERSHIP AND STRENGTHEN THE ONES WE HAVE AND BUILD NEW ONCE THAT WILL LEVEL UP OUR SYSTEM FOR CHANGE TO DISRUPT AND END AND PREVENT VIOLENCE.

ABLE I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD CONSENSUS I BELIEVE IN LIKE THE GIFT OF PERSUASION, SO I AM VERY MUCH A PERSON, WHO LIKES TO WORK, AND I WORK WITHIN TIME!
TEAMS, TO TAKE ON A LISTENING POSTURE, AND THEN, MAKE DECISION THAT I BELIEVE ARE ROOTED IN THE BEST NEED, AND ROOTEDDED IN NEEDS OF THE THEM INTO ARE MOST AFFECTED BY THE DECISION.
