Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(slow music) - [Narrator] Can children actually learn anything useful from apps or computer games?
Newer studies show that mobile platforms can increase learning gains for children if chosen carefully.
First, look for content that builds on your child's excitement.
Media should engage kids and spark their curiosity about the world around them.
The content of the app should be research-based, be sure to read the product description and look for an outline of learning goals.
To ensure the educational quality of the app, only use ones from trusted, reliable sources and make sure that they are not trying to market to your child.
Finally, a balanced media diet includes setting limits.
This is also something for parents to keep in mind too, as kids often model their parent's behavior.
