James Allen creates unique book excavations that transform books into sculptures.

James Allen creates unique book excavations that transform books into sculptures. Starting with a discarded vintage book, often found at one of Portland's used book stores, he cuts carefully through layers of illustrations and images to create a multi-faceted display. He combines both words and images to allow a story to emerge from inside the book.
