Disappearing Meadows, Mecate Rope Makers and Fat Bikes.
Natural meadows, from the high cascades to the coast, are disappearing. We investigate what’s happening to these diverse ecosystems and the species that depend on them. Meet 98-year old Frankie Dougal who carries on a ranch tradition of horse-hair “mecate” ropemaking. And we travel to Washington's Methow Valley to see a new winter outdoor recreation, known as fat biking.
