Canoe with Natalie Warren on a section of the Minnesota River.

In 2011, Natalie Warren and Anne Raiho were the first two women to paddle 2,000 miles from Fort Snelling to Hudson Bay, following the route immortalized by Eric Sevareid in his book “Canoeing with the Cree.” Prairie Sportsman’s crew canoed with Natalie on a section of this journey near Mankato to see why canoers and kayakers like to explore the Minnesota despite its muddy reputation.
