Yes, it's to help them balance.

Uh, what does balance mean again?

- Balance means to get the weight even on both sides of something, so it doesn't tilt, like with my snowboard.

If I put my weight on one side of the board, it tilts one way.

If I put my weight on the other side, it tilts the other way.

If I put one foot on each side like this, it balances perfectly, and it doesn't tilt at all!

To keep the ice from tilting, your team needs to be balanced.
