from down there, Romeo?
- Not from here.
- Or here?
Or here?
Or here?
- You won't reach him if you reach all year.
Your lines are parallel; they go the same direction, but they'll never ever cross or touch or meet.
- (Cat): Huh!
- They're parallel?
- They'll never meet?
- They're parallel!
- Then jump my feet!
- (both): NOOO!
- I'm here.
- I'm here and now I'm there.
-♫And now I'm flying through the air♫ -♫I trip - I flip♫ -♫I'm thrown - I'm smacked♫ - Those two are like a circus act.
- My line is as high as yours and yet I still can't reach you, Juliet.
- From here?
Or over this way then?
- Your lines are parallel.
- (Romeo and Juliet): Again?!
- Our lines will never meet.
- Oh, woe is me!
- Can't you two shout more quietly?
- Hello!
(Peg gasps.)
- Hide!
On the double!
- Juliet?
- Romeo?
- (Romeo and Juliet): Dad?!
(Cat gasps.)
- They're in trouble!
- What are you doing up in the air?
- Romeo, get down from there!
- You and he can't be together.
- Or I'm giving you a timeout.
- To your room!
- (dads): Forever!
- Alas!
- Alas!
- Romeo and Juliet will never ever get together.
- All those wasted horizontal lines.
- All those wasted vertical lines!
- All those wasted rhymes.
- I strut and fret.
- I huff and pout.
- I wave my arms, and jump, and shout that... - (all): I am totally freaking out!
- Cat's right, I should take a deep breath and count backwards from three.
- (Romeo and Juliet): So should we!
- (fathers): So should we.
- Three... - (both): Two... - (fathers): One.
- (Peg): Huh?
- Ah!
There's a platform between us!
- That's it, you rubber band-flicking genius!
(lute music) - Our stage is complete.
- Then dance my feet.
- Ramone rocking the lute!
You the man!
- I do what I can.
- (dads): Awww!
- Their friendship is good.
- Their friendship is true.
- Maybe we should be the best of friends too.
I reach out horizontally to say, neighbor, please be friend with me.
- Check it out, you two.
- Huzzah!
- Woohoo!
So by knowing horizontal, vertical, and parallel, we brought Romeo and Juliet together.
- (both): And their dads as well.
- Math can make everybody get along.
- Let's sing our song.
♫Problem solved - The problem is solved♫ -♫We solved the problem - So everything is awesome♫ -♫Problem solved♫
