Hey, let's go now and see what Moby's got for us today.
(upbeat funky music) - Hi, friends!
Haha, it's me, Kevin.
Normally, I'm backstage, but we gave Moby the day off today.
So let's get right to it.
So the color pink, it's a light shade of red, right?
But do you know how to make it?
You mix red paint with white paint.
Yeah, that's how you make it.
I learned that the color pink is named after flowers called, what do you think?
Pinks!
(laughs) There wasn't a name for the color pink until someone said, "Hey, that pale red color over there?
It sure looks like those pink flowers, ha!
And so instead of saying pale red all the time, maybe we just call that color pink."
Yeah, and that's how the color pink got its name.
Hey, how did you get your name?
(upbeat funky music) - Oh, that was so cool!
Kevin was helping out Moby.
That's good to give Moby the day off.
Thanks Kevin, that was fun.

Friends, it's time for today's Three Sentence Story!
Beginning, middle, end.
And we come up with a story in three sentences.
The words come from you.
In the first sentence, we set the scene.
In the second sentence, there is a problem!
(mimics crying) But don't worry friends, because in the third sentence, there is a solution.
It all comes into focus.
(laughs) See what I did there?
It all comes into focus on the third sentence, where we solve the problem, haha.
I'm thinking I want to go back to Ms. Lisa and kiddos to see if they've got an idea for how, how should we start this?
A person, place, or thing?
What could the first word be, friends?
- I thought of Wimee.
- (gasps) I can start it off?
I get to be in the story?
- Yeah!
- (laughs) I love it.
I get to be in the story to start things off.
I am Wimee, Wimee, your lovable robot, haha, at your service.
Thanks, Theodore, I appreciate that.
Okay, so here we go.
A long, long time ago, I was walking on top of a pink mountain made of, hmm, what could it be made of, uh, the pink mountain is made of marshmallows.
(laughs) I get to be on top of a pink mountain of marshmallows!
I like this story.
Uh oh, oh no!
But here comes the problem.
Friends share with us another word.
What could be the word that causes the trouble?
I was having such a good time on the pink mountain of marshmallows.
I would like to jump up and down, (mimics bouncing noises) (laughs) Oh ho, the word is mommy.
Mom, ha, oh but in particular, it's your mom, Joe, that caused the trouble!
Oh no!
Okay, okay, I got it.
(laughs) Okay, here we go.
A long, long time ago, I was climbing on a mountain of pink marshmallows.
Joe's mom called me and said, "Wimee, you need to be home by 5 PM for dinner!"
(gasps) That's right!
I forgot I had to be home by five o'clock.
Joe's mom called to remind me.
Maybe, Joe, could I come over for dinner?
(laughs) That's it, I'm going to add to the detail.
I was going over to my friends Joe's house for dinner and Joe's mom called to say, "You're gonna be late!"
So I need to get there fast.
Friends, how do I get from the top of the mountain of pink marshmallows over to Joe's to have dinner together?
Oh man, it could, ooh, fire?
Oh, fascinating.
Interesting, okay, okay, I got it, I got it, I got it.
Here we go friends, okay.
Here we go.
I was, okay.
A long, long time ago, I was climbing on the top of a pink marshmallow mountain.
Joe's mommy called and said, "Wimee, you need to be over by five o'clock."
I jumped on my rocket ship, which launched the turbo booster engine and fire (mimics explosion) launched me all the way to Joe's home at 4:59, haha!
The power of turbo boost, rocket boosters.
And just look at that fire going (mimics booming) out of my plane, my jet plane, which is going to bring me all the way over to Joe's.

The marshmallow mountain might turn into a giant s'more!
Oh ho ho!

I think it's gonna be okay.
I think we got up in the air high enough and fast enough.
Well, friends.
It's time to go to Nia and the HBCU Wimage Lab to see what she's got coming together for today's Wimage!
Oh, I can't wait to see the mountain of marshmallows!
I can't wait to see the rocket ships.
Hoho, hi Nia!
- Hi Wimee, how are you?
- Oh, I'm excited, I'm flying on my jet plane.
- Yeah!
In the Wimage you made, the marshmallows didn't catch on fire, did they?
From the fire from the engine?
- No, they didn't catch on fire.
- Okay.
- So it's perfectly fine.
- Whew, good, good.
- Are we ready?
- Yeah, let's see.
- Alrighty, here we go.
(Wimee gasps) So here we have our mountain with our marshmallows, the pink marshmallows, of course.
We have Wimee, that's on the top.
- [Wimee] On the top!
- [Nia] You see that it's kind of cloudy, but there's some sun.
There's a rocket ship and then there's fire coming out.
And then we look over in this corner, we have our friend Joe's mom, who has the baby too, and then maybe you guys are eating outside.
And then there's a big phone on the outside of the phone.
So maybe that's how she called you.
- That is so cool if we could have a phone like built into the side of our house.
- Yeah!
Maybe in the backyard or the garage.
- Hm, yeah.
I love it.
- So Wimee, I'm thinking, what should we add to this picture?
- Hmm let me see.
Let's see, friends, if you have any suggestions, let us know.
I'm thinking maybe, ooh, a bike!
- A bike!
Let's add a bike - Could go by the house, by the garage.
Yeah.
And maybe there's a swing set.
Ms. Lisa and kiddos are thinking, right, let's bring them on.
Hey Theodore, hey Daphne, right?
You added the idea of swing set?
- Yeah!
- That was a great idea, thanks for sharing that in the chat.
- I love that idea.
- Ha ha, man, I love swinging.
- [Nia] Oh here we go.
- [Wimee] Look at that happy person on the bike!
And there's the swing set.
Joe's mom and the baby are going to go on the swing set.
- Yeah.
(laughs) - [Wimee] Yep.
We're going to study it.
Think about it, the colors.
And we're going to see, maybe you'll add more rocket ships.
Maybe, ooh, let's count the marshmallows - [Nia] Yeah.
- [Wimee] How many marshmallows are there?
if you could lift it higher?
- [Nia] There are two, - [Wimee] One.
- [Nia] One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
- [Wimee] Right, there's eight marshmallows!
- [Nia] There we go!
- [Wimee] Hmm, okay.
The sun, the bike, the swing.
Yeah, okay.
All right, Nia, we'll check back later to see what three changes you make to the Wimage.
Friends, we get to go to Brad for Language Explorers.
We're gonna find out how to say today's words in Swahili!
(laughs) Hey Brad, good to see you!
- Jambo, Wimee.
- Jambo.
Well, hey Brad, why don't we get rolling?
What's the translations today?
- The first one I wanted to go with our theme of the day.
(Brad speaks in Swahili) - That's so cool, so many letters in that word.
- Yeah, that's a big one.
- Yep.
- Okay, then you, Wimee.
Wimee!
(laughs) - (laughs) I love that.
I like the way it's spelled that way, it's fun.
- Yeah, it's a little different.
That's why I wanted to show you.
- Nice.
- Okay, mommy is mama - [Wimee] Mama.
- So, pretty much the same as English.
- Nice, yeah, I like how it's similar incoming - Fire is moto, moto.
- [Wimee] Moto.
- And then I have a bonus word, if you have time.
- Yeah, let's hear it.
Because a few weeks ago, one of the, I think it was, yeah, it was a theme of the day word was flamingos, - Yeah!
- and flamingos are pink.
I wanted to bring that back.
- [Wimee] I love it.
- Flamingos.
(Brad speaks in Swahili) - I love the sound of that one.
Yeah, have you ever seen a flamingo, Brad?
- I have (speaks in Swahili) I said, I've seen them in the wild, outside the zoo, and I've seen them in a zoo.
- Oh man, that'd be amazing to see them just out in nature.
Nice.
Well, Mr. Brad, thanks so much for today's words.
We'll see you later in the show when we've got some games coming up.
(laughs) Well, friends, I love to explore and create things.
And Sparky's here for today's Explore and Create (jazzy upbeat music) (music fades) Haha, that was awesome, Sparky!
Red, what were those colors?
Red and white.
When we mix them together, pink!
Cool.
What happens when you mix other colors?
Have you played with colors to see how you mix one color with another color to make a new color?
Ha ha, I love it.
Well, friends, let's go back to Nia.
She's made three changes to today's Wimage.
So, hey Nia, let's see, what did you change?
- All righty, you tell me what we changed!
- [Wimee] Okay.
Well, ooh!
I see one thing right away.
The mountain is a different color.
- Yeah, definitely!
- [Wimee] Haha, nice.
I wonder, I bet Ms. Lisa and kids are watching too.
Let's bring them in.
Hey friends, do you see anything that Nia changed?
- [Daphne] Yes!
- Tell, what did you see?
- What do you see?
- Um, I see, I see that Wimee's different, and the house color's different.
- Yep, there we go, we got it.
- Oh that was so fast, Theodore.
Wow, man, nice job.
Nia thanks so much for making today's Wimage!
Haha, colors.
I was wondering if you were gonna change the marshmallows.
I counted those right away, but I saw it was still eight.
But man, Theodore and Daphne, Ms. Lisa, they were right on it.
They were super fast today.
All right, friends, Siblee.
(laughs) He's fun.
Let's find out what today's Laughing with Siblee joke will be!
(kids cheering) - What's pink and fluffy?
Hmm, um, I don't know.
Pink fluff.
(cackles) (kids cheering) - (chuckles) Pluff?
That, well that's pink and, okay Siblee.
(laughs) All right friends.
We love books!
Haha, we've been hanging out with Ms. Lisa and kiddos.
It's time to go back to Ms. Lisa for Check Out This Book.
(upbeat music) - Haha, what book do you all have?
- Hey!
I have Ruth's Pink Pajamas written by Julie Gassman and published by Picture Window Books.
I'm going to tell you a little bit about it and then I'm going to let Daphne finish, because this was her pick for the day.
Theodore, we're gonna cover your face up, sorry buddy.
There you go.
(Wimee laughs) So in this book we meet Ruth, and Ruth loves her pink pajamas so much, right Daphne?
- Yeah.
- So much.
So much that what does she want to do?
- She wants to wear them to school.
- What does her mom say?
- No.
- No.
- [Wimee] Oh no!
- Pajamas aren't for school.
But then one day mom is gone and what happens?
- She puts on her pink pajamas and her dad doesn't notice.
- [Wimee] Oh no.
- And she wears them to school.
And we find out in this book sometimes exactly what you want may not be exactly what you really wanted in the end.
It might not turn out like you hoped, but this is a great book for kids that have a favorite shirt, a favorite pair of pajamas, maybe a favorite hat that they wanna wear all, all, all the time.
They will connect with Ruth and they'll understand how much she loves her pink pajamas.
- Oh man.
I definitely want to check out that book and I love how dad didn't notice.
(laughs) And is Theodore still behind the book?
There he is!
(laughs) All right, thanks for this book, we'll see you all later with some games and Kid Chat.
And, in fact, as a matter of fact, oh, back to back, we're going to chat with Theodore and Daphne in today's Kid Chat (funky music) (laughs) I'm gonna, - We're back!
- we're back, I love it!
I'm gonna go right to Theodore.
How often do you get buried in books over at your house?
Is that a common thing?
- Eh, kinda.
- (laughs) Yeah, I had a feeling.
Hey, so Theodore, what is something you love to do?
Tell us something you love to do.
- I've been coloring and my mom got me this new box of crayons.
- Nice, is there a pink one in there?
- What?
- Is there a pink crayon in there?
- Yes, actually.
There's actually a lot of pink crayons - Oh, nice, oh, different shades of pink.
Oh yeah, look at that.
- Do you have a favorite?
- Um, yeah.
- What's your favorite color?
- Yes, I have a favorite shade.
- Which color, which one?
- I can find it.
It is, yes.
I actually haven't used it yet, but I really like it.
This one.
- Nice, what is it called?
Does it have a particular name on the side?
- Can I read the name for you?
It is called carnation pink.
- Carnation pink.
- That's awesome.
Awesome.
So what type of things do you like to draw, Theodore?
- I like to color in like, like I got a new coloring book and there's a lot of people.
There's a lot of animals and people doing things in it.
I like coloring in like people doing things a lot, and animals and like that stuff.
- Awesome.
Daphne, tell us something that you love to do or make or create.
- I've been making a lot of these little pillows out of felt and hot glue and like stuffing and I made some other ones out of them and I think we're going to hang them up for Valentine's day.
- That's so cool!
So you have to cut out the fabric, right?
- Yeah.
- And then you stuff it with some, do you put any pink fluff in there?
(laughs) - No, it's just white fluff but it's a pink pillow!
- It is a pink pillow!
Now, who gets to sleep on that little pillow?
- (giggles) I don't know.
- Yeah, that's so cool.
That's so fun.
You can make a bunch of them in different shapes maybe.
And that'd be a cool gift idea, right?
To make things like that as gifts.
Ho ho, well, Daphne, Theodore, Ms. Lisa, thanks so much for hanging out with Kid Chat and Check Out This Book and ideas and we've got some games to play.
So all right, friends, it is time to play the game Inside My Mind.
(rock music) Haha, we got everybody here, so I'm gonna start.
And then Michael you're going to go first, then we'll kind of just move around.
It'll all make sense, this is a fun game.
We've only played it once so far.
Okay, so Michael, this clue's for you, I can find inside my mind, something that is really, really tall.
What do you think it is, Michael?
- A pink mountain.
- It is, that's it, that's what I was thinking of!
Okay, so Michael, you now say to Ms. Lisa and the kids, you give us a clue of what you can find inside your mind and see if they get it.
- I can find inside my mind.
- Yeah.
- Something pink.
- Oh.
- What do you think, what do you guys think?
- I think a flamingo.
- That's it!
(Brad and Wimee laugh) - What should we say to him, Daphne, do you wanna give Brad one?
- Yeah.
- Okay.
- I can find inside my mind something shiny.
- Ah, something shiny.
Is it a snow globe?
- Yeah!
(Brad laughs) - Oh, I love snow globes!
- Wow, we got this.
- You're really good at this.
(Brad laughs) Okay, Brad, you wanna give one for me.
- I can find something inside my mind that is furry.
- Hm, something that's furry.
Is it a cat?
- It is!
- (laughs) Man, we're four for four.
Okay, we're gonna, let's do one more round and, okay, Michael, ready?
I can find inside my mind something that is chewy.
I chew it up and I don't eat it.
It stays in my mouth.
It tastes really flavorful.
- Hm.
A pacifier?
- No.
(Brad and the the kids laugh) It's chewy, I chew it and it tastes like strawberryish.
And then eventually I have to put it in the garbage because I didn't want to swallow it.
- Oh, I get it.
Broccoli.
(all laugh) - No, that's not what it was.
But you're close!
- I may need help guys.
- Okay, kids, oh oh, Joe's got it, but Theodore, what do you think?
- I think gum.
- Yeah, hahaha!
- That was a trick question.
- Yeah, four for five is still pretty good.
Okay, Michael, you're up and Ms. Lisa and the kids.
- Are you sure you guys want me to come up?
Because I just got broccoli and what else?
- We got confidence in you.
- Thank you.
- Yeah.
- All right, I can find inside my mind something that rings.
- Ooh, rings.
- A bell?
- That's it.
- It is!
Ding ding ding!
- You're good.
- Ooh, ooh, we gotta bring Jim on, Jim's backstage running the show, Jim, you know why I want you to come on, right?
- I have no idea.
Oh, wait, maybe I do.
(bell rings) - Yeah!
(laughs) Yeah, that's totally it.
There it is.
Was that the bell?
Daphne was that the bell?
- That was the message.
- Do you wanna do one?
- Yeah.
- Okay.
- Say, I can find inside my mind.
- I can find inside my mind something that is big.
- You can do this Brad.
- Let's see if Brad gets it.
- Is it an elephant?
- Yeah!
(Brad laughs) - That's so fun!
- You guys are good.
- (laughs) Well we did it friends, that was so fun!
Man, this has been a great episode.
Color pink and words and stories and language and games.
I think it's time for the scavenger hunt.
It was time for Find it Fast!
(fast rock music) Okay, friends find something that starts with P!
Oh man, lots of ideas we've been talking about today, but now can you find something that starts with P. Find something that is pink.
Oh man, we've gone through so many possibilities.
But can you find something and something puffy?
Hmm.
Friends on the show.
Ho ho, let's see.
Let's go to Ms. Lisa and Theodore and Daphne.
Have you found anything?
- Yeah.
- Yeah!
- What did you find?
Whatcha got?
- I found this again.
(Wimee laughs) Cause it's pink, puffy, and it starts with a P. It's a pillow.
- Oh, it starts with a P, oh my goodness, that's got lots of points.
- And I found a pencil, and something pink and puffy.
- (laughs) That's so fun!
And then you can use the pencil to like, make it like a hockey stick to go, boom, boom, boom.
And then the little puffy thing will bounce around.
(laughs) All right, hey Brad, what have you found?
- I found a pig and he's kinda puffy.
(Wimee laughs) He's kinda squishy.
- I love it, and he's pink.
Pink and he's puffy.
- He's awfully cute.
- He's got all three!
(laughs) - And I found a pen.
It's pink, or a marker I should say.
- Oh, the dry erase marker.
- Yup.
- Well friends, we're getting ready for the dance party.
It's been fun hanging out.
I love doing this.
Thanks for being with us, haha.
Let's roll the music.
Let's get everybody back and let's start to dance!
Oh, more friends, I love it Brad.
Ho ho (fast rock music) Hey, that Red Wings jersey, Theodore, that's got red and white.
If you put that together, it's pink!
- That's right!
