Where the Three Rivers famously meet stands a city for all seasons.
The hub of western Pennsylvania, anchored to a region rich with human energy and natural beauty.
This is Pittsburgh from the air.
A frigid winter Sunday.
A day when the boys of summer.
Have long since gone home.
A day to leave the city to the elements.
Unless, of course, you are among the hearty black and gold fans with a ticket to the game.
They seem to last forever.
These months of frigid beauty, of crystal and winter light.
But before long the months of waiting will end with a thrill of life, reborn in the season of sun and fun.
My God.
A poet once wrote.
Be like the flower.
Turn your face to the sun.
And in this season we answer that great invitation to enjoy manmade pleasures amid the natural wonders.
City and country all within reach.
Western Pennsylvania becomes our playground.
As day turns to dusk, a strange sight appears in the darkening sky.
A lone daredevil sits in an airborne kayak.
And rides the wind towards Earth.
Challenging gravity to carry him safely to the river and city.
That weight below.
On this 4th of July, the sky explodes over the place we proudly call home.
It's a night to celebrate a great nation, and a region and city that have stoo for independence and ingenuity.
For two and a half centuries.
A night when we marvel at this spectacular showplace that is Pittsburgh from the air.
