I am Dr. Addie and we have a special guest in the doghouse today.
We have from the Fitness DAWGS, Fido.
What's up, Fido?
Dog pound, Fido.
(growling) Yes!
So, Fido is in the house today.
He's gonna help us break down diet and workout equals great success.
And so we're gonna jump in here, right?
Let's jump right on in.
We're gonna first start off with the letter D, which stands for diet.
Now diet is all the things we eat and all the things that we drink.
Correct?
Correct.
So let's see what you got for us for a diet, 'cause I heard that you might've been eatin' a ladybug.
(grunts in disgust) You was eating a ladybug?
Not a real ladybug?
Hopefully not.
Let's take a look and see.
Let's check it out.
(upbeat music) Hey everybody.
You know how sometimes you're in the house and it's just a little bit bored because it's cold.
It's raining outside.
You can't get out, run around, and then you just get a little hungry and it's not lunch time or dinner time but you just want something to eat.
(sighs dramatically) So that's what we're gonna talk about today.
What can we do to take care of this boredom and also this hunger?
So some of the kids are hangin' out today, so let's check 'em out and see what they're up to.
So, hey!
What are you doin', guys?
>>We're doing nothing because it's cold and rainy outside.
>>Oh, it's cold and rainy?
What about you?
>>I'm just hungry.
>>You hungry?
Hmm.
Well, I got an idea.
How about if we make a fun snack, 'cause then that'll give us something to do and then we can also have something good to eat.
What do you think about that?
>>Yeah.
>>That sounds great.
All right then, come on in.
Let's go.
Let's get it done.
Hey!
There's Anjelica and look, it's Fido!
(clapping hands) What's up, Fido?
What are you doin' here?
Oh my goodness.
What are you doin' here?
Oh, you're helping Anjelica make some snacks.
We were just saying we wanted some good healthy snacks and we needed something to do 'cause it's so cold outside.
So this is perfect timing.
Come on guys, let's go up here and get a seat so we can make some snacks, yes!
>>All right, so today we are gonna make a ladybug snack, okay?
>>Oh my goodness.
>>It's super easy, but it's super fun.
So here are our ingredients.
You have an apple, you have pretzel sticks.
>>Mmmm.... >>You have some raisins and some peanut butter, or you can use any nut butter that you want, okay guys?
So, first thing we're gonna do, we're gonna take our pretzel sticks.
>>Okay.
>>Pick up your pretzel stick, Journi.
And you're gonna dip a little bit in the peanut butter.
>>You got it?
>>And you're gonna put a little drop and then take a raisin and put it on top of the a peanut butter.
You see how it's stickin' there?
>>Oh, so the raisin can stick?
>>Yeah, good job.
You do it a couple more times, Grayson and Journi.
>>All right, so we makin' a little black spots on the ladybug.
Okay, so do as many as you can.
>>Mine won't stick.
>>It won't stick?
Try it again.
Put some more up there and see if you can stick it up there.
>>Put more peanut butter on there, girl.
>>Mine are sliding off.
>>They're sliding off?
>>They're slidin' off?
It's okay.
>>Keep trying.
>>Just keep goin'.
Keep goin'.
Yup, dip it.
See, Fido tryin' to help you.
>>Fido helpin' you out.
>>Just dip it.
>>And then stick it.
>>And stick it on there.
Let's see if we can get you a little bit more.
Let's get it goin' here.
>>Yeah, gotta put a little bit more.
There we go, Grayson.
I got you.
>>'Cause it's a big la- Keep puttin' the raisins on there.
>>You put the raisins.
I got the peanut butter, buddy.
>>There you go.
>>You're doin' a good job.
>>Awesome, we comin' along now.
I think we're doin' faster than them.
We're going so fast.
Oh my goodness.
>>Go ahead, Grayson, you got it.
>>Oh I got one.
>>What do you think, Fido?
It looks good?
It's comin' along?
Does it look like a ladybug?
>>All right.
>>Perfect.
>>Done!
>>Journi, you got all of 'em?
>>Oh you got 'em all?
Okay.
>>Now what you're gonna do... >>That is awesome.
>>What are we missin'?
The antennae, right?
>>Yeah.
>>Well, we need some antennas, 'cause the ladybug has those antennas.
How do those antennas go, Fido?
(vocalizing) >>Let's see if we can stick it in there.
>>Oh, we could stick it in there with the peanut butter sticking again.
>>Do you think you could get the peanut butter to stick?
>>Or you could use, like, these whole pieces.
>>Oh no, 'cause if the ladybug goes this way, the antennas have to go up there.
>>My guy needs a little hole with the plastic knife.
I think I got it.
Oh, I got it.
>>There we go!
They pushed it in.
Let's see if we can push it in too here.
>>Oh, I'm done!
>>All right, we're not done yet.
We have to put the feelers on top.
>>Yeah, that's what we're doing.
Makin' like little eyeballs.
>>On top of the- >>You put yours on there.
I'm gonna put mine over here.
>>We need a little.
>>Got it?
(children chatting quietly) >>You broke the pretzel?
Okay, that's not a big deal.
>>Oh, the raisins.
>>Slowly falling off.
>>All right.
Well let's get some more pretzels.
>>I'm done!
>>Oh my goodness.
Look at the eyes right on it.
That is so neat.
>>Good job.
You made that.
>>Oh my goodness.
Awesome job.
>>There you go.
>>You did that.
Oh, that's a nice one.
And so let's get you another.
We're gonna get you another antenna.
Oh, you got that one in there.
>>Good job, Journi.
>>And so there you go.
Let's see.
You got some more.
Ooh, can we borrow two of these?
>>Hey, I have two too.
>>Wanna put some more on there?
>>And let's see if we can put it on there.
>>Oh there's another space.
>>You think it's gonna stay?
Looks like it wants to come off.
>>It goes right on the top.
If you put it right on the top of it, it won't come off.
>>Yay, Journi!
What you think about your ladybug?
>>I got my eyes on.
>>I see you got your eyes on.
This looks so yummy.
And that was quick, that was easy, and then we have a nutritious snack.
This is awesome, kids.
What do y'all think about this?
Let's see what your ladybug snack looks like at your house.
Now this is the best part about snacks that I like.
I like to eat 'em.
(Anjelica gasps) Do you like to eat 'em?
Grayson, do you like to eat the snacks?
>>You ready to test it out?
>>You ready to test it out?
You ready to test out the ladybug?
>>Take a big bite out of 'im.
>>Take a bite of the ladybug and tell us how the ladybug tastes.
>>It's a little bit too messy.
>>It's okay.
(Dr. Addie laughing) >>You ate the antenna.
Is that good?
Yum yum.
>>It's apple-y.
>>Let me see.
Oh, bite!
(growls) You guys, how is the ladybug snack?
It's awesome.
Two thumbs up?
>>Two thumbs up.
>>Two thumbs up?
I love it.
Now, do you eat any other bugs?
You're eatin' a ladybug.
Do you normally eat bugs, Journi?
What about you, Grayson?
Do you normally eat bugs?
>>No, I'll only eat snack bugs.
>>Only the snack bugs.
>>Only the snack bugs, guys.
So snack bugs are okay to eat.
So this was fun.
And guys, I just wanna say, as we continue to eat this healthy snack, remember that diet and workout equals great success.
Now y'all have something to do on those cold and rainy days.
Bye bye!
>>Wave bye!
(laughing) (upbeat music) >>And A is for and we're back!
Yes we are.
Man, that was a tasty lookin' ladybug.
That wasn't a real ladybug at all.
And it's something that you could eat every day.
That's a fun snack.
Especially when it's rainin' outside, it's cold outside.
Not only is it a healthy snack to eat, it's a fun activity to do.
So that's pretty cool.
Now, let's see how you break down your W for workout.
A workout is anything from exercising, to sports, to physical activity, all those things help to keep you nice and strong.
So, since they were in the house, it was raining, it was cold I think that particular day, you will show us how to turn a house into a gym 'cause we know Fido, he's the gym buff.
So let's check it out and see what y'all were doing inside the house.
Things that you can do in the house.
Let's check it out.
(upbeat music) I think we still need the workout.
'cause we still gotta get in our physical activity even though it's rainy and cold outside.
Come on.
We still got to get the physical activity.
60 minutes, right?
>>Yeah!
>>So let's do this.
I got an idea.
How about we just call the Dog Pound Gym and see if they can help us out?
So I'm gonna give 'em a call.
Let's see what's going on.
Maybe they can help us out.
>>Yeah.
(phone ringing) Hello?
>>Dog Pound Gym.
>>Hey, what's goin' on?
This is awesome.
We were sitting here.
We just had a nice little snack and it's all cold and rainy outside, so we're just trying to figure out a way that we can turn our house into a gym.
Can you help us with that?
>>Oh my god, that sounds amazing!
I would absolutely love to.
How about this?
I can come right now.
>>Oh, that's perfect.
Well, come on over then.
>>All right.
On my way.
>>All right, thanks.
Bye bye.
Ooh, they're gonna send somebody over so we can turn the house into a gym.
(laughs) Y'all are excited about that, huh?
All right, kids.
Let's see who they gonna send over.
Let's see.
(door bell chiming) >>Hey!
>>It's Fitness Angel Tam, my favorite from the Dog Pound Gym.
>>How y'all doin'?
>>I just wanna know, how did you get here so fast?
>>TV magic!
(chimes tinkling) >>Oh my goodness.
That is exciting.
So we all wanna see if you can help us out today.
What's the deal?
>>Man, let's get this workout in.
>>All right, we're gonna turn this house into a gym.
So we just need a big enough space, right?
>>This space is perfect.
>>All right.
>>Any room you have, we can turn into a gym.
>>Okay, like what other room could we use?
>>You could use the living room, bedroom, the hallway, kitchen, anywhere in your house.
>>Okay, just make sure you have enough space and make sure your parents clear enough space so you can work it out.
So let's get our 60 minutes of physical activity.
Are y'all ready?
>>Yeah!
>>All right, let's go.
>>Yes!
>>Let's go!
>>All right, guys.
Welcome to the Dog Pound.
>>Okay!
>>We gettin' ready to get this workout in Fitness DAWG style.
At home, you can use anything around the house.
You can use a canned good as a weight or a water bottle.
So, we're gonna use a little bit of both today.
Everybody have your water bottles?
Go ahead and grab those water bottles.
>>All right!
>>Now when we start out, we always have to warm up, right?
So we're gonna take a light weight and just start jogging in place.
All right, so I remember in school we played this game called red light green light.
>>Yeah!
>>So when I say red light, I want you to just jog real soft.
When I say green light, I want you to give me high knees.
>>I need a rest!
>>Red light.
And green light.
(children vocalizing) Use those weights, use those weights, use those weights!
And red light, whew!
That felt good.
Y'all warmed up?
